  1. You will feel younger than ever on a Princess cruise. If you enjoy music, the bars and piazza will feature some excellent musicians that you can listen or dance to with a drink in your hand. None of the ships is equipped with carnival rides or amusement park features. Daytime activities may include games and classes (i.e. tai chi, Zumba). The crowds will thin early and there will be limited venues open and occupied after 10 pm. After cruising with RC and Norwegian, we appreciate the laid back Princess vibe. You may or may not.
  2. Mine directs me to the nearest bar. I think you’re right about the DNA. It didn’t change after disembarkation.
  3. Your best bet on the Princess website is to use the search function. Type “wifi” and it will get you to a page with pricing ($24.99 daily for one device).
  4. I do not see an iOS update yet this month.
  5. I am really looking forward to sailing Caribbean Princess again once she sails out of Port Canaveral. Hopefully early next year as soon as my wife’s softball season ends. We have nothing but good memories. I will admit a bias toward the more “classic” ships in a given line. We sail Enchanted in June and I don’t expect to be swayed.
  6. Loved it. We spend time walking on the promenade deck, taking exercise classes, spend the evenings in bars listening to music, drinking and talking to strangers. Nicest crew I have ever encountered. MDR food was to our taste. Great service. We encountered nothing that didn’t function properly. Every part of the ship was clean and shiny, if occasionally threadbare in places. Whether you will be happy on her depends more on you than the ship.
  7. My hair ran away from home years ago. It’s too late to thank me. We’re no longer on speaking terms.
  8. That was usually followed by me asking “ If Jimmy Smith jumped off a bridge, would you feel you had to.” It’s such a simple calculation to estimate whether the package saves you money. And all the facts are here for the asking on CC.
  9. I was wondering if I had missed it at the IC, since that’s the only 24/7 venue where I might be able to demand my daily lobster regardless of time of day.
  10. It is much too persnickety for my liking.
  11. How do you make reservations in the MDR for folks in more than one cabin? I linked in the old app and was able to do that. Or is that something entirely different?
  12. Yes, so if you go twice, it’s free. You will pay for your third and subsequent visits.
  13. Somewhere there is a box to check to eliminate paper documents, but some I think will be deemed necessary. I suppose you can ask the steward to hand them to you in the corridor. But that won’t always be possible. Just trying to think of ways to cut down on visits.
  14. That’s not a party. For some folks here, that’s breakfast.
  15. 20% of the ship behaves as you do. I don’t think any of us can say what most other people are thinking.
  16. I guess my usual tuna salad on a croissant wouldn’t qualify. ☹️
  17. I’m in the same boat. But since the first excursion starts at noon, for once I might not be in a rush.
  18. It sounds like someone will be expecting 2 anniversary presents.
  19. Maybe grab a sandwich to go from the IC on the way out?
  20. I think that’s Amalfi. I managed to secure 5:00 reservations there for each night. We are a group of 6 with a couple kids. They will want to eat early and we are hoping to make a couple early shows. Extra windows are a good thing. We had window seats for dinner on the Sapphire and were watching whales within an hour of leaving Vancouver.
  21. I think you must have been lured by a low base price and as a result, your expectations were set too high. Once upon a time, cruising was an “ all included” vacation, or almost so. It is no longer. Advertised prices are base, lowest cost inside cabins per person. It doesn’t seem like much until you multiply by the number of passengers and add drinks, specialty dining, excursions and more. And upgrade to a balcony or suite. There is still a lot included in the price and many cruisers don’t spend much more than that, if at all. You can still have a great time. It’s up to you whether you want to buy alcoholic beverages or take excursions. But the shows, games, main dining room, pool, etc are available to you. Small compensation, but when a ship drops a port, you are refunded port fees. I would recommend canceling as I think your attitude isn’t likely to improve. Eat the non refundable deposit, book something else on land and forget cruising. It isn’t just Princess. This could have happened with any line.
  22. It’s in the new app as well but worded differently. It says “Request cancellation” there.
  23. I not sure which app I meant but I just found a cancel order option on the old app. I didn’t click it though because I have ordered delivery with no charge and don’t want to make any more changes.
  24. Even better, grab a glass at a bar on the way to the MDR. Our first dinner in a Princess MDR, we waited at least 20 minutes for wine. Never since.
