  1. It could be worse. I would be horrified to find myself cruising with the nearly wed and newly dead.
  2. 3-3:45 in the Amalfi MDR on the final sea day, according to a poster who just disembarked.
  3. I recommend stopping at a bar on the way to dinner and getting a glass to go. We do that and then order a second glass from the waiter after we are seated.
  4. The one device plan can be shared. As long as more than one don’t need to use it at the same time. I might have a hard time justifying Plus if we didn’t drink alcohol. We do consume a lot of coffee and bottled water, but maybe not $20 a day for each of us.
  5. I’m 32 days out and mine do not. But if I go to planner and tap on “book shore excursions”, they are there. I don’t know anything about the spa.
  6. I’m a light sleeper. That sort of noise throughout the night would prevent me from sleeping as well. I’m pretty well able to flex but even 1 night without any sleep would be more than I could handle. I’ve not experienced anything like the OP. But if I had, the key to success is being persistent and polite. I would have been mollified with a change of cabin and FCC. I’m claustrophobic too, but don’t have a problem with inside cabins. The $250 sounds light to me. I would have politely asked for more. If the rep had told me that’s all that he/she could do, I would ask to speak with someone who has higher authority.
  7. Great review. We will be boarding her 6/15 with a party of 6. Which MDR were you dining in? I like the sound of that corner table.
  8. We are sailing 6/15 on Enchanted with grandkids 8 and 11. The roll call indicates there will be other kids in that age bracket. I think your kids will find enough others their age to make it worthwhile. Hopefully you will plan some excursions as well. My kids always enjoyed leaving the ship when we docked, despite making friends in the kids programs.
  9. The app has started to populate and I can see 7 nights of entertainment, excluding bar and piazza acts. I would like to hear from cruisers who have seen any of this. Especially interested in knowing what may not be appropriate for 7 and 11 year old grandkids. Comedy Magic - Jason Bird Laugh Lounge - Steve Caouette Production Show - Spotlight Bar Showtime: Vocalist - Brianna Faulk Laugh Lounge - Orlando Baxter Production Show - 5 Skies Showtime: Hypnotist - Richard Barker Laugh Lounge - Derrick Cameron Production Show - Rock Opera
  10. That was me. But I wore a sweater over it so only the collar showed.
  11. Thanks for the Live. I completely enjoyed it. You have a great writing style and I look forward to the next one.
  12. For some reason, even though I tell them the first night that I don’t eat dessert, they try to tempt me after every dinner.
  13. The decor is different. The service may be different. The location and sometimes the deck is different. The menu is the same. We stick to one dining room in an effort to get to know the staff, and vice versa.
  14. No, but “checks” are occasionally used in the US. Especially if one is interested in slowing down the payment process.
  15. I plan to shop for chips (crisps) in port in Mexico. They will have flavors not readily available here in the US. And I always grab a few single beers in port to bring back home. The chips will go on top of the beers in the same bag.
  16. Has the tea party already taken place. Asking for my 7 year old granddaughter, for whom it will be the highlight of our cruise. If I’m not mistaken, it is on the final sea day. Isn’t that today?
  17. And you will probably save money with a third party. If you’re not familiar, there is a forum on CC that specifically addresses cruise insurance.
  18. We sailed Sapphire Voyage of the Glaciers last September. Formal nights were relatively informal. I wore a collared shirt under a cotton sweater. My wife wore dark pants and a sweater. We were not out of place. For Floridians in Alaska, the primary concern is keeping warm.
  19. So far I have only seen $99 deposits. I think that offer expired yesterday. But I have seen it several times.
  20. I didn’t think it was too much. The food and drink prices aren’t outrageous. I’m not crazy about paying another $19 pp for admission to Chankanaab Park next door. But I think we will do it. My daughter saw pictures this week of a pool by the pier that looked disgusting. A cool cabana, clean pool and nice beach is much more appealing. The place has a 5 star rating on TripAdvisor with over 200 reviews.
  21. I think value is a different question than is it the same food as the MDR. I don’t do SD myself because I don’t see the value for money. Others must or the lines would be trying something different.
  22. How is this “gouging”? You pay more, you get more. That’s how capitalism works on land and at sea. I have used wifi on Princess before and after the conversion to Starlink and found it at least adequate almost everywhere I went. I don’t think I would be happy paying $25 a day, but when it’s bundled, you tend to forget what it costs.
  23. Order the strip loin in the MDR. Then have dinner at the Crown Grille. If you can’t tell the difference, avoid specialty dining for the rest of your cruise.
