Cruise Gopher

We are onboard this sailing as well and our biggest gripe at this point is our cabin steward and the lack of service. It’s almost 10pm and our room has not been made up yet. We have been out of the room since about 5pm so I’m not sure why it’s taking this long. I tracked him down as he was cleaning another room and I asked for fresh towels and got them. Bartenders can be a bit slow in some bars on the ship, which is also a bit odd. I would have thought they would have brought over the best of the best crew from other ships onto their new ship. Hopefully things will pick up. Food has been good so far and good service in MDRs and in Blu.

Ascent arrived this morning (Sunday) and will move over to Terminal 25 tomorrow and the sets sail on first sailing on Wednesday the 22nd. I’m sailing on the first sailing.

Late October would be questionable with weather, sounds like May might be better.

Looking at sailing on the Equinox in 2025 on the 10 night itinerary that leaves from Barcelona and goes to Greece and Turkey and ends in Rome. If price is exactly the same, which is the better date to do? End of June or end of August? One is over 4th of July and other is over Labor Day weekend (bonuses since less vacay to burn). I’ve done a few Med cruises but never one at the end of June/beginning of July. I’m sure it’s still blazing hot there no matter if I pick the end of June itin or the end of August one. Just wanted to see what other people would suggest?

She’s arrived in Port Everglades this morning! We board on Wednesday.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) is super easy to get in and out of. It’s a massive port with very good roadways. Also super close to FLL airport.

You can either call and they can book it as a solo. Or book it for two and put a fake name and then they will just refund the taxes and port fees when the 2nd guest is a no show. It’s just a system limitation on the website where it won’t let you book a guarantee cabin as a solo.

Yes, and we had the penthouse reserved. Happen on Mille one year and Summit the next year.

Agree! I had this happen to me three times! And it can take months and months for the charter to get finalized before Celebrity sends out the dreaded “your sailing has been canceled” letter.

How does this work? Do you have to wait to day 2? Do you know how much the upgrade amount is for a 7 night cruise? I am trying to decide if it’s better to upgrade to unlimited before the cruise or wait til onboard.

The Sept 13th sailing is showing as closed out in their system but when I go into it, it still shows availability. They might be in the process of modifying the itinerary so keep checking back.

I wonder if they would put Apex on 3/4 night rotations Fri/Mon?

Yes eastern or western from Port Everglades. Nothing new or exciting at all.

Looks like they loaded all categories with the All Included pricing and perks on the Jan 4th, 2026 sailing also. This could get corrected very quickly so book quickly if interested.
