  2. So glad to hear this. I was thinking it would be cold but I have to remember that we will no longer be in Louisiana where the weather is sometimes cold in February and sometimes hot.

It was cold for us close to Galveston so the first and last day but it wasn't for too long

  3. American Table has the Indian Vegetarian option every night AS WELL AS another vegetarian option most nights. The other vegetarian is usually a pasta dish of some sort.

It is easy to be vegetarian on Carnival, vegan is much tougher as almost everything has dairy (cheese, eggs, butter). I have a friend who is vegan and it is so hard to fix food for her as her diet is so restricted. I think she would love cruising but I think she might end up eating lettuce every meal. Sad.

My son cannot eat dairy (lactose sensitive) and he has to ask about every dish on the menu, just to make sure.

I'm vegan and have no issues with eating on Carnival. It's actually pretty darn easy.

  4. So I'm looking at the Fun Times from the Magic cruise we just went on. It looks like the Late Night Snacks are there from 11:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. (10 Aft),Red Frog Pub Grub until 1:00 a.m. and the Deli until 11:00 p.m. And of course, Pizza and Room service is 24 hours.

From memory the late night snacks was basically the grill but this was before Guy's

  5. I have food allergies and do YTD all the time. I go to the MDR when they open for requests and they take my card number and cabin number and write down all my allergies. I can even order from the first nights menu. This information is held at the check in. When they give me the dessert menu they also give me the menu for the next day so I can preorder. The pre order is held at the check in desk in case I don't get the same serving team.

I cruise for creme brûlée, lobster and warm chocolate melting cake!

We also do YTD with a special diet and haven't had any issues. I'll email the maitre d pre cruise but that's about it. Did special meeting last time but eh, didn't seem worth it for our request.

  6. Haven't spent time in canada in ages so not aware of current pricing there but spent 5 weeks in Oz this summer and holy cow.....sticker shock!

As an Australian living in the US I get this. It's why so many Aussies come here. Because cost of living is so high your earnings are high so purchasing power is pretty high here.

  7. It is actually the worst gift ever.

In the box is about 12 round pieces of stationary about 3 inches diameter with a picture of a tropical destination on one side with the cheapest and thinnest envelopes ever made.

At first glance thought it was a coaster.

We used a few pieces to give additional gratuities to crew and tossed the rest.

Still sounds better than a croc visor but I'm only red so you know.
