  1. We have travelled to the Far East on numerous occasions. Never needed any vaccinations or malaria tablets, but, as is always the case, check with medical professionals, rather than taking the advice of random strangers (like myself !).
  2. Great advice. We intend to do exactly that on our forthcoming cruise. With your knowledge, are there any wines (red) in Vines that you would specifically recommend in the $15 - $20 price bracket.
  3. I assume that, like everywhere these days, the poached eggs are bought in pre-cooked, and then just warmed up.
  4. Spain Day Tours do a trip to Marbella, although it also includes visiting parts of Malaga. Personally, I'd rather stay on the ship than go to Puerto Banus or Marbella !
  5. No worries. I knew what you meant !
  6. I thought the new price was $35 in Sabatinis? Still expensive though.
  7. Yes, that is true. But it makes if difficult if you do have an early boarding time, and you get snarled up with all the "gatecrashers ". Perhaps CPS should ask to see your boarding time, before checking your car in, so as to deter those arriving ahead of their allocated time.
  8. You could also try Waze - highly rated and better than Google maps by all accounts.
  9. I really, really wouldn't book the 9:50. Far too risky. And if you miss it, and the 12:40 is full, what is your plan B ?
  10. Important for everyone to note that this relates to the UK, so US experiences are not really of use. And yes, when I applied to Southampton for my obc, I was also told that applications would not be processed more than three months prior to the cruise date.
  11. I think you mean that Medallions are NOT even shipped to Canada.
  12. I have a payg phone, as I hardly ever use my mobile. The disadvantage is that the data cost is expensive: 10p per mb, so using Google maps, plus other updates, would quickly deplete my balance (£5 lasts me a year !) Think I'll just stick with my sat nav and the automatic radio traffic announcements.
  13. But don't you need to be connected to the internet for live updates ?
  14. As many suitcases as you like, but ideally each one should not be over 23kg. You need to put a luggage tag on each case -we put two on each, to be safe! No tags needed on hand luggage. Drinks can go anywhere. Normally it is safer to put them in your hand luggage. If you are talking about parking for this Easter you have left it very, very late, so you will struggle. Try Parking4cruises. If you have no joy, use the public multi storey at West Quay (£5 a day,) and take a taxi to the port.
  15. Calculated risk. Obviously Princess management have access to the P&O figures, and feel that the extra revenue will offset lost passengers. We need to remember that we are in a bit of a cruise bubble here, with many highly experienced cruisers. However the majority of passengers are occasional cruisers who will either pay up, thinking it part of the overall cruise cost, or will select a cabin grade and location, and will not have to pay any extra.
  16. Other cruise companies do it. In the case of P&O, it is the difference between a saver and a select fare, and the difference is considerably more than $100 !
  17. Welcome to the real world ! Deposits in the UK have always been non-refundable.
  18. Also, many lines don't have beverage packages, as all drinks are included.
  19. We certainly have, and anecdotal evidence is that queues have got worse over recent months. I guess the way to avoid queues is to arrive early afternoon, to avoid the 11am congestion.
  20. Thanks for the clarification - I assumed the OP was looking for the menus now for June.
  21. In a word, No. But you can find the menus for the specialty restaurants online.
  22. If I was your husband I would be mortified if an over worked waiter had to cut your food up for you. Sorry, but 100% it is your husband's responsibility to look after you.
  23. I hope he is not hungry - the lobster is not exactly large ! Order two !
