  1. Not really cruise related, but our plumber came and did a small job for us yesterday. On completion, out came his card reader, and whoosh, payment made. No cash or cheques for him, and bank transfers only for significant sums of money.
  2. As a change, how about go to Avebury, and walking through (and touching) the stones there, and at the same time taking in Silbury Hill ? The largest pre-historic artificial mound in Europe. https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/silbury-hill/ You could also take in the historic market town of Marlborough, and marvel at the engineering feat that is the Caen Hill flight of locks. https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/places-to-visit/caen-hill-locks/an-uphill-struggle-caen-hills-history
  3. My password is "incorrect". If I ever put in a wrong password, I always get a message back, telling me that my password is "incorrect" . A useful feature for us old folk.
  4. Do you absolutely need to eat something for afternoon tea ? If the offerings in the buffet or IC are not suitable, why not take a salad or whatever from the buffet at lunchtime and store it in your cabin fridge until you need to eat it ? But, from memory, there is only a very small period between lunch and dinner services in the buffet, so you will only have an hour or so when you would go hungry.
  5. If you really want to book a speciality restaurant, I think you should just accept the fact that you will have to pay for it . Waiting until you get in board may well mean that you can't get a table at all, or that it will be at an unacceptable time, such a 17:00 ! I wouldn't run that risk, and you certainly don't want to disappoint your wife ! There are plenty of other ways you can use up your obc.
  6. Yes, we're got one of those. Waste of time. By the time the whites are solid, the yolks are like bricks !
  7. That's what we did for our anniversary. No decorations on the door, just on the screens.
  8. We were able to enter the date of our 40th wedding anniversary (cue applause) on the app for our cruise, and it must have worked as we got the ubiquitous celebration cake in the CG on the night of our anniversary.
  9. Great price. Please don't tell me the cruise is 14 nights ! When I booked our 2024 Azura cruise, I asked if it would be possible to add in a hotel stay, but appears that is not possible at the moment. And if such an option becomes available, I probably won't be able to add on a hotel stay. However, still reasonably happy with our deal, with flights from BHX.
  10. We have something similar. But, we either get runny yolks and snotty white, or cooked whites and solid yolks. In the words of Toyah, "It's a mystery".
  11. Interested in your maths. Assuming you are on a regular fare, Plus would cost you $60x7=$420 pp.
  12. The problem with Sabatinis is that it is a US idea of what an Italian meal should be. However, for some reason, it appeals to some palates.
  13. As there has not been a check for at least three years, how do you know "most people do tip extra" ? You seem to be a little out of date with reality.
  14. Once again us Brits lose out. We also can't bid for upgrades, and our deposits are 100% non refundable.
  15. I agree - the first sea night is almost always a formal night. And good for you for dressing up !
  16. In a word, no. The menus are posted outside each MDR every morning for that night's dinner.
  17. Well, according to the P&O official social media page, everyone who watched it think it was the best show since the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony !
  18. Actually, you may be right, as it is an easyjet flight, not a charter. Which is why I deleted my answer !
  19. Can't answer that, obviously. But the phrase " sweating your assets" springs to mind.
  20. Probably better to buy any drinks in the duty free at the UK departure airport.
  21. We have been on Arcadia twice. Round trip to Caribbean, and a Canaries cruise in 2022. Adults only, but the ship is old, and shows her age. Lovely theatre though.
  22. Yes, of course, assuming your complaint is valid.
  23. Yes - just checked the P&O web site, and it clearly says 3 months. A bit surprised that the TA did not know that, but I suppose it is better to be safe than sorry.
  24. With regards to passports, when I booked our Azura 2024 cruise, TA agent diligently went through the issue and expiry dates of both our passports. I got the distinct opinion that many have run foul of the ruling that passports expire 10 years from the date of issue, not the expiry date. The agent also said that the passport needed to have six months validity remaining on the date the cruise ended. I wasn't sure of the facts, but I think that is incorrect. Anyone care to clarify?
