  1. I don’t think they’ve started cruising out of Norfolk this year yet so it’s all conjecture at this point other than what’s on their official pages. Changes needed to be made from what happened last year.
  2. my understanding is they do not have any porters at the entrance to the terminal because everyone is expected to be dropped off at the parking lot.
  3. I am going off what Norfolk themselves has written that all guests are processed at the parking lot then transferred to the terminal via shuttles. If you want to trust somebody on facebook or other boards, be my guest.
  4. You can call your PVP now and tell them to book it for you. They can cancel out the hold and book the deck you want.
  5. If you don't have a hold anymore then what are you asking? There is no hold so why couldn't you use a PVP?
  6. I am prepared for an absolute cluster of a day to get on that ship in September. The only reason I am going on the cruise is it was free and I've never been on a Dream class ship. The parking lot does not seem to be terribly large judging by Google Maps, has anyone heard of it filling up? The Cruise Norfolk website says you have to get dropped off at the parking lot. You didn't read that? https://nauticus.org/cruise-parking-directions/
  7. Seersucker Or a bottle of travel size wrinkle releaser...it really works!
  8. nonalcoholic drinks are unlimited that is not a foreign language is it?
  9. I'm sure they are giving their better crew and better food to the newer ships. But I have to say judging by the videos I'm seeing on YouTube from people who have been on Mardi Gras or Celebration lately, the buffet food looks like the same slop they put out on the Sunshine last year that was for the most part absolutely disgusting. Some people may like eating a third of a chicken thigh or some "fish" served on top of nasty dried out chafing dish rice with a can of Hunt's tomatoes poured over top. Not me.
  10. Before Carnival cut their steward count to the bone, your stateroom would have been ready by 10:15.
  11. What usually happens is closer to sail date, those cabins that accommodate more than 2 are assigned to people who booked guarantee rates.
  12. Obviously, that is next. We've already been groomed to no longer expect our staterooms will be ready at boarding.
  13. I got married on the Carnival Fantasy and we ordered the red velvet for our cake. I remember it being good.
  14. If there is a wedding party they're usually ushered onboard before they even start calling others.
  15. I think they're one in the same, the false rumors are posted by moles so in a few days JH can post a fake question for content.
  16. it makes me wonder if some of the posters here are moles
  17. Exactly, they all read nearly the same and exist purely to drive interaction on his Facebook page. The real questions on his Facebook are just people begging for freebies or asking things that could be easily Googled in less time.
  18. They're still Carnival cakes - so they're not as sweet or rich as what many are used to in America. But I do think they're better than the cakes they serve on the evening buffet.
  19. Carnival is carrying Lyre's zero-proof spirits on their ships but I think they are only available at the Alchemy bar.
  20. I am convinced that nearly all the posts JH features on his page are fake. Either posted by fake accounts for content, or lies dreamed up by people for attention.
  21. nonalcoholic drinks are unlimited
  22. Pack everything you think you'll need, then take half of it out.
  23. I never stay on the ship 100%. I will at least get off, walk around for 30 minutes to an hour, and get back on. Doesn't matter if it's a stop I've been to 4 times in the last year, I enjoy getting off the ship for at least a little bit. My wife and I very rarely do ship-organized excursions unless we win one onboard or are traveling with family/friends. Typically we will get off and do our own thing. My last cruise we went to Bimini and if there ever was a stop where I would be tempted to just stay on the entire day, that's the one. Just not much going on the island unless you want to ride the tram over to the casino from what I could see.
  24. I have no idea what they actually do. I always just assumed they spread the 18% we pay on Cheers across the entire bar department.
