  1. If the cruise begins on Friday, night 1 is Friday night. Night 2 is Saturday night.
  2. Nothing like topless sunbathing with a fresh mushroom and ham omelette and a side order of bacon.
  3. Do they charge overage or once you hit 50MB, it cuts you off? It's really easy to blow past 50MB of data just with background activity - someone back home sends you a few photos via iMessage and your phone downloads them when you turn off airplane mode and bam - there goes half of that 50MB limit without you doing anything at all.
  4. It is my understanding that some ships offer a galley tour and some do not. Still other ships are offering an "enhanced" menu that costs $150, with no option for the cheaper menu.
  5. I'm sure every cruise is different but I haven't seen chef's table sold out in a long time on any cruise I've been on. Teppenyaki is different of course because it's much more limited and it does usually sell out.
  6. Right, the pricing of Carnival's specialty dining used to be so affordable because you were basically replacing a MDR meal so you only paid the difference. I guess now they're finally admitting their MDR food is worthless.
  7. You can fill in the bathroom of your cabin obviously. But out and about on the ship I don't think there are any. Some cruise ships have them but I don't think Carnival has any - maybe in the fitness center if they do.
  8. Last call is typically around 9:30AM at most ports. I am not sure about Manhattan specifically.
  9. The Christmas Gala dinner is only served on Christmas Eve as far as I am aware.
  10. https://www.carnival.com/help?topicid=1373
  11. I’m no longer an over tipper. I tip the agreed upon amounts when out to eat etc, and when it’s automatically added to the bill I don’t add more. I no longer buy into the emotional blackmail.
  12. The Sunshine and Magic have them so I'd assume Radiance does, but have not sailed on that ship so can't say for sure.
  13. 50MB of data is basically nothing. $20 for that little amount of data is offensive. You would be better off buying a 24 hour pass of the Value wifi onboard for basically the same price.
  14. Keep your deck 7 location. Deck 1 rooms can have a lot of noise and vibration during docking.
  15. The Fantasy class atriums still are jaw droppers for me.
  16. $789x2 plus taxes and port charges is probably $1902, but your screenshots don't show the actual breakdown in pricing which is shown on the final page of the booking engine. That will tell us exactly how they're getting the $1902 figure.
  17. Carnival is not a charity, their financial situation is not my concern. I cut them some slack at the initial covid restart - bacon crisis, rooms not ready at embarkation, food below standard - but at this point, "I'm just happy to be able to cruise again" isn't good enough for me anymore.
  18. Carnival's target market today is not past cruisers with fond memories of Carnival's past level of service, it is people like @bg2310 who don't know what Carnival is capable of and defend the current product.
  19. Not just alcohol but you can get meat with a bone in it at Sandals without paying extra. Sodas. Free WiFi (no club card needed!). AIs really are owning the work from anywhere monied millennial market right now.
  20. I actually really enjoyed the Norfolk VA sailaway a few months ago on Magic. Only downside? It took a long time to get out to sea and open the casino etc - longer than I expected. Still love sailing out of Miami the best though. Beautiful scenery and then you're at sea and underway in no time.
  21. Back of the napkin, a week at Sandals Nassau for two is about $5k give or take for September next year, plus airfare. Just the room on the Carnival Liberty out of NOLA is about $4k. Plus airfare, plus air transfers, plus elevated food and drink, plus excursions, plus gratuities. Granted the cruise goes to Nassau, Freeport, and Key West. At Sandals you're in Nassau for the week, but with all your excursions etc included that's not so bad. Cruises are not cheaper than AIs anymore folks...
