  1. Definitely admirable. And I agree, she must be exhausted...Thanks for sharing her schedule. I made the assumption that the ships' captains got a break during the shut down. And we all know what happens when one assumes...🙃
  2. Guess I better get at least 2 more cruises on the books, ASAP!
  3. Maybe we didn’t understand the question. Or maybe I didn’t. I thought you get points for sailing and it’s based on the category you book. Are there other ways to earn points?
  4. You’ve got me there. I have no answer to that.
  5. As I said, I mean no disrespect. Just making an observation….a wondering, so to speak.
  6. I mean no disrespect in the following comment but didn’t Kate et al get a much needed break during the shut down? I just kinda feel like right now it should be all hands on deck to get these cruise lines back to cash flow positive.
  7. It was $119 pp when we did it In 2019. That was on Silhouette.
  8. Been there, done that. Great food, great drink. Note to self and others, if you do it, eat a snack in advance because the drink flows and so might the political commentary 😳.
  9. Have to say I have the disembarkation blues and it’s not even my cruise. Thanks for taking us along. Safe travels home.
  10. What in the world are they filming and for whom? I’m not even there and I’m annoyed 😑
  11. I’m aware of snorkeling, water sports/motorized vehicles for rent, and I think I saw something to do with stingrays but I could be thinking of somewhere else. I did see a complete list with prices in my cruise planner, not necessarily on the general MSC website. You should be able to see excursions for each port in your planner if you’ve synced your reservation.
  12. Great question! I wondered that too. We are on Meraviglia next month and we are docked at Ocean Cay over night and into the next day leaving at noon. I wonder 1. At what time does everyone have to be back on the ship at night and 2. Do they allow passengers to get off in the morning before departure?
  13. We did that wine tasting on our cruise. The sommelier was very knowledgeable, but boy was he a talker! Regarding the YC tours...I never saw that happen when we were on Seashore and frankly, I'd be annoyed. One tour maybe, but three!! I know how it sounds and I don't care. There are plenty of YOUTUBE video tours of the YC out there. I wonder if it's some sore of port excursion you can sign up for...NCL tried something similar before the shutdown. They allowed the Haven restaurant to be booked by non Haven passengers as a specialty dining option. There was such an outcry that it was almost immediately aborted.
  14. If you were able to upload cc info in the online check in then you’ve gotten further than most. I’ve stopped bothering with this step altogether. They will not scan a cc at the pier on embarkation and will most likely tell you that the card you “successfully” uploaded did not register in their system. Therefore, you will need to swipe at the kiosk upon boarding or soon thereafter. I thought it sounded like a hassle but it was really quite simple and painless.
  15. Thank you for the review. Your cruise sounds lovely. I am anxiously awaiting the day that we can head back to the Mediterranean for another cruise. When that day comes we will likely go for an inside YC cabin as well since we will be off the ship more than on.
  16. My first cruise was on Carnival Fantasy in 1992. This was the age of the midnight buffet complete with ice sculptures and bread basket carvings. I remember crab legs, peal n eat shrimp, gourmet cheeses, and desserts of all kinds. It was a smorgasbord of veritable goodness the likes I’ve never seen on any cruise ship or mainstream cruise line since. For a while there, Carnival had it going on!
  17. I say never let the comments of others discourage you from posting. Diversity of comments, observations and opinions is what makes this forum so great! Let it roll like water off a duck’s back. 💁‍♀️
  18. Is Cabo normally a tender port? If so, how was the tender process in terms of efficiency? We are on Solstice in March and I'm still doing my research.
  19. Go with your original boarding time. If an error bubbles up when you arrive, act like you are clueless and let them figure it out. I think you will be fine. Furthermore, your time will likely change again. We started with 3 PM and then it changed to 10 AM. Go figure.
  20. Really appreciate your feedback. We are new to MSC having completed 1 caribbean cruise on Seashore and having another on the books next month...again, to the Caribbean. We are ready to venture back over seas in 2023 and will likely do so on MSC because we really enjoyed our trial experience. We were in the Yacht Club and will definitely try to book this category again if it's cost effective. One thing we are considering is going a less expensive route because of a port heavy itinerary...meaning less time on the ship. Your experience helps with making this decision. Thanks for posting!
