  1. More specialty dining options on Silhouette. We enjoyed the lawn club grill very much!
  2. The cruise…duh. sorry. I’m in Miami. Waiting to embark tomorrow. Several mojitos in. Love a live review. Hoping our guys are ok.
  3. If it’s a popular show then it’s good to have a reservation. While it may seem scheduled (bc it is) some venues fill up quickly. I like the flexibility of making reservations in the cruise planner but it’s totally ok if you don’t. You can always approach a reservations desk for specialty dining. They will get you in but it may not be your first choice in day/time. Additionally, there are kiosk screens throughout many of the ships where you can simply touch screen to see what’s available. I believe you can do this on your stateroom tv as well. Basically, you can be as scheduled (or not) as you want.
  4. Good for them! It's about time. I was on a flight home to ATL when the mask mandate was dropped on planes. The flight attendant made the announcement and she was near tears. There was a loud round of applause and lots of cheers. I'm sincerely happy for them if this is true!
  5. Ok, whatevs...🤷‍♀️ I'm not the OP's advocate but it seems to me that he had a legitimate question about billing and another CC user made the judgement call that OP was somehow trying to get out of paying his bill. At the very least his response was not helpful at all. I think I'm just gonna stick with rude. Yep.
  6. In my experience making reservations in the cruise planner does not equate to charges until you actually show up and dine in the specialty restaurant. Furthermore, if you have a dining package included in your fare (two restaurants now, I believe) there would presumably not be an additional charge since they were included in the fare. Even the gratuity would be added when the dining experience occurred....not before. Having said all this, your comment to the OP is frankly, just rude.
  7. I can only imagine what a nightmare this would be for the ship's crew. Nice idea, tho.
  8. I printed mine out and then colored them with marker.
  9. Wait..so are you saying there is no bar service until everyone has had their cards scanned?
  10. So is everyone heading to the muster station at the same time to get their cards scanned? That's my impression. From your description, it seems not to be the case.
  11. You’re not the first to make this observation. Apparently you watch a video in the cabin then all proceed to the assigned muster station at the same time? Kind of a head scratcher if the goal was to avoid large crowds. Guess we will grin and bear it.
  12. Great info.! That didn't work for me but maybe I was just doing something wrong.
  13. I am always amazed by what I learn on CC. Thanks for taking the time to explain!
  14. As a new MSC platform user I found that if you try to log in to their mainframe using your last name and booking number, you only see limited things, such as excursions as such. However, if you make an account as a new user, which is also an option, you will see your upcoming cruise and the web check in link. Takes a bit for it to load after you log in. I can't remember if I had to search for it with the booking number after I made the account or not. But you definitely can't do the web check in without first making an account. Go to the Manage Booking tab at the top of the page.
  15. I'm guessing it was my error. I put my info. in first and I think when I added in DH's, it defaulted to my birth year instead of his. Seems like something I should be able to correct pretty easily in the platform on my own, but I guess not.
  16. Makes sense but I guess I just don’t understand where the more for less thing comes in if op is willing to pay. Wouldn’t MSc come out ahead?
  17. We got ours a month prior and it was immediately upon completing the check in. I printed everything out yesterday to get ready for our cruise on Saturday. I noticed that my DH’s birth year is wrong as is his place of birth. When I went back in to edit, the fields I needed were no longer available so I couldn’t make the changes. Maybe this is because they’ve already send the e-doc packet? Idk but I hope they let him on the ship! My point is make sure your info is correct while you can. It appears that once you get your edocs you can’t edit certain info.
  18. Were I in that situation the first thing I would do is get my name on several wait lists for cancellations. Next, I’d look for hostels and local rooms for rent in private homes. Worse case I’d find a train station or airport in which to wait it out. All of this for a cruise I really wanted to do…so far, I haven’t found one to drive me to such extremes.
  19. I have no experience with the MyVegas rewards but my knee jerk reaction would be to circumvent the casino rep and either consult a TA or an MSC cruise consultant. Agree that it shouldn’t be so hard to give them your money. Sometimes the 3rd time is the charm. If you do call, come equipped knowing the going price of your current category as well as the current price of the YC so that you can fluidly pay the difference. Good luck!
  20. We loved being on deck 9 aft and it was so convenient to go down just one flight of stairs to get to Cagney's and a bar. We never heard any noise...but I sleep with ear plugs so there's that.
  21. OMG I'd go freaking nuts with the door open at night and I'd be royally pissed if someone near me kept their door open and messed up my A/C...I like it to be nice in cold in the room for sleeping. It's never really cold on the ships but it's cool and because I'm on a cruise, I put up with it. At home, you could hang meat in my bedroom at night. May we never be neighbors on a cruise ship...no offense.
  22. There is no included thermal suite for merely booking a RS or PS but strangely, it is part of the aqua class...strangely in that at the RS and PS price point, I would think the thermal suite is a logical perk. The last time we were in a RS we were invited to several sail away parties on the helo deck and we most certainly received special attention in both Luminae and Murano...mostly in the form of receiving nice wine that wasn't necessarily on the by the glass menu. One time we were offered a bottle of Caymus that was rejected by another guest when it was opened. It tasted wonderful to me...but each his own.
  23. I reached out to our TA over this very issue. The response was rapid antigen or PCR test. They have thrown the "lab administered" verbiage because they are not accepting any non-proctored home self tests. The proctored self-tests are also acceptable. Further, you have to provide a printed copy of your results. We have our tests scheduled for Friday at CVS. I have been assured that this is fine as long as I print the results and present them upon embarkation.
  24. How timely your review is! We are embarking on Seashore on Saturday for our first MSC cruise. The Seashore doesn't get a lot of love in the review department but we are eager to see for ourselves. This will be our first cruise since March, 2020! Thank you for posting!
  25. NICE! Just curious...were you aware of the extra $600 when you booked? I was not so it's what prompted my question to my TA in the first place.
