This is all very strange! We just got off the Apex last month...was in a MC Sky Suite...had two loungers and the two chairs/table setup.

Just read a review from someone who stayed in a SV on Beyond. There was no lounger initially but after requesting, one was delivered by day three.

I hope we have 2 on our MC suite on Edge or we will definitely be requesting them. Can’t imagine what a storage nightmare it must be for X to remove them all only to return them upon request. Work smarter not harder Celebrity!

Yes amazing how experiences can be so different...I sometimes wonder if I was on the same ship as the others, after reading the reviews...I will bet that everyone noticed how hot it was inside of the elevators...Don't know why, but warmest elevators I've ever been in, whether empty or full...

lol. I felt that way about the warmth in the solarium on Ascent. But nobody has mentioned it…ever. So it must have just been me. 💁‍♀️

Hello "Peaches" -- Hope you don't mind being called "Peaches" but I remember your difficulties making that Solstice Mexico cruise and somehow I feel I know you.  I was rooting for you.

Don’t mind at all!  😊. And thank you!

we did have a number of Express Notification e-mails.  Folks are asked to hit a link acknowledging that they received the e-mail.  And my husband and I (both US citizens) received more than one of those notifications.  Those notifications were very clear that the responsibility for obtaining the appropriate visa rested on the passenger.

Thank you for explaining this!  I figured there must have been some sort of communication from Celebrity. I’ve never traveled on an itinerary that required a visa. My passport has always done the trick. But it is certainly something I will pay closer attention to in the future. We are sailing the Med next year and while I don’t think visas are required, I am certainly going to double check.

During a question and answer session in the Edge theater Capt. Matt expressed irritation and frustration with the lack of passenger compliance.

What does celebrity do to alert passengers that visas are required?  Is there a red flag somewhere in the booking letting them know?  Lots of people, like me wouldn’t intuitively know this but for the fact that I read cruise critic. While it is certainly not incumbent upon Celebrity to get the proper visas, I would think they bear some responsibility of letting passengers know. Genuinely curious, not being snarky. 😊

No it’s roasting. Everyplace so far is warm

Oh no.  I hate being hot and I'm already struggling with my packing...so I guess I need to throw in some short sleeves??  How about your stateroom?  Cooler there?

  6. We had some reservations about E class and for the longest time we didn't take the plunge...some due to negative reviews but mostly due to IV situation.  Then I learned of the PV and the SV (and of course the suites) balcony so decided to take another look.  Ascent was our first E class and we booked it as a trial run for our upcoming Edge cruise.  In the meantime, we fell in love with E class and have Beyond booked for November.  While I definitely appreciate reviews and the opinions of my fellow cruisers, I feel as though I missed out on some things by taking so long to see for myself.  I can appreciate that E class isn't for everyone.  @39august, I agree with you about the noise in some areas as well as the stairs.  Both can be daunting if you're used to S or M class ships.  But, at least now you know! 😊 and one of the things I love about Celebrity is the variety they offer in ship size and style.  Thank you for your report...I'm so happy to know you didn't experience any noise issues.

  7. Have to agree with @EMc&DrS on Ocean Cay.  We dined there with our Diamond meal and we were quite literally the only ones in the venue...at 7:30 PM!  A table of 4 showed up around 8:15 and that was it for the night....so no vibe or synergy in the place at all.  This was on Seaside. I've had better seafood and larger portions (dinner sized) at my local Bonefish.  I would not recommend this place at all.  I think you get way more value and flavor from Butcher's Cut.

I was on this cruise.  The Captain specifically asked for no photos to be taken.

He can't mandate that nobody takes pictures.  And certainly nobody's privacy was infringed by the image posted.

I hope the passenger makes a speedy recovery.

We spent 40 nights on the Edge last fall boarding in Civitavecchia, transiting the Suez Canal and leaving the ship in Sydney.

Yikes!  If I spent 40 nights on a cruise ship I’d have to borrow a potato sack from the kitchen to wear on debarkation day because none of my clothes would fit 😳. Sounds like quite the adventure, though!
