  1. UK courts have ruled that that cancelling key ports can count as a major change of contract if they were a major factor in booking and therefore eligible for a refund. You could try using the small claims court - it's not too complicated. See gov't guidance at 3.14 which explicitly talks about change of location. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/616960/oft668.pdf
  2. It's probably my favourite spa because of the views, but it is split into gendered sections so if you want to spend time with your partner there really isn't a lot of space and it's only the heated loungers and thelassotherapy pool you can use together. Saunas, hot tubs, and steam room are all in the male/female sections. It's rarely crowded and on the four or five times I've been on board there's never been a time when I couldn't get a seat - although on sea days every seat has ended up occupied.
  3. We took over an hour due to delays with the poor luggage handling. I imagine most situations are like the 5 minutes that Grandma experienced though. If you don't have a booked ride and just use the taxi rank you can be quite relaxed about it.
  4. Super easy to do last November - loads of them at a taxi rank 30 seconds from the terminal. It was the worst disembarkation I've ever had due to poor terminal staff, so the easy taxi ride was a welcome return to normal.
  5. Has anyone also used the spa deck during a transatlantic? Is it usable or does it get too windy? I seem to recall it being a bit breezy when underway even in the relatively calm mediterranean.
  6. Well you've done a great job of derailing it.
  7. Which includes how it is communicated. Look at the content of many posts throughout the thread, including the one immediately above your post.
  8. That works until you consider the issues that have been within Azamara's direct gift, like communication. That's also been very poor.
  9. They don't actually. The other two lines I mainly use always have them fixed until you get on board. They may sell out of course. There's high inflation in the UK at the moment so a lot of costs have gone up in an eye watering fashion, but that still wouldn't justify the levels of increases that AllisonJames is seeing.
  10. Sounds a challenge. Good luck with it.
  11. Looks like you're having a good time after the initial glitches. Thanks for sharing the port photos - Ireland is on my wish list and I'm taking notes.
  12. It's still there, at least on the UK website. You have to click on the Deals page and it's one of the boxes. You can't automatically select it from the top level menu or within the search any more.
  13. Still lying - the Licensing Act was introduced in 2003, and NCL has been sailing from the UK since that time so they know the requirements. What's happened is that they have ignored their obligations and are now blaming everyone else rather than take responsibility.
  14. I spent 5 years influencing and writing UK licensing legislation and now work on UK Tourism policy - that's an outright lie. You should complain at guest services - if they need a UK lawyer who understands the law then they can try Philip Kolvin KC.
  15. The only applicable law is the Licensing Act 2003, and that exempts ships on a journey from requiring a licence, which includes the period when passengers board and disembark. This is a NCL thing - although I've sailed on many NCL ships from Southampton and have always been able to get a drink. Sounds like they're either lying or someone on board doesn't understand UK licensing law.
  16. I've been there twice (Azamara, MSC) at those times and the weather was mostly excellent. We had rough weather one day, but that's always a risk. They were great trips and I'd recommend them as a destination.
  17. Show booking does seem to be delayed now - I've seen others on here say 21 days to coincide with check-in. You might get a few extra days in Haven. I'm also on Prima in 98 days and the shows are still not available for booking, although everything else is. For some reason the thermal suite pass opened up a lot later than everything else those (107 days, for no apparent reason).
  18. Yes, responses don't address any of the points in the original contact email - if you get a response at all. It annoys me even more than the initial issue that made me contact them. It's so discourteous to ignore everything a customer has said.
  19. Technically, swimming costumes are required in all part of the spa and there are posters to that effect, but more recently it seems to be ignored and unenforced in the segregated parts of the Jewel class spas.
  20. Any order you want! But they've got a suggested route (in the jewel class anyway) of Sauna, cold plunge, steam room - then relax on the lounger.
  21. Focusing on the Star's distinctive features - the new Spice H20 at the back of the ship was very comfortable and it was nice sitting on the comfy seats looking out over the ship's wake, and the staggered terrace around the pool is another nice outdoor space. Inside, the internet cafe gives a quiet space to enjoy performances on the atrium stairs, avoiding the crowds in the main part and queues for guest services. The spa doesn't have all the features of the bigger ships, but the lap pool was a nice addition and more quiet space if you want that. The restaurants and bars are basically the same as on any other ship, but service was quick and friendly and it was all enjoyable. 296214931_459573122844542_7732657849808288120_n_453220063340423.mp4
  22. I hope you enjoy it! I was on the Star's Greenland/Iceland cruise last year and really enjoyed the ship.
  23. It ocasionally still happens - there was one of the Jade last November. It's a special themed thing rather than the regular restaurant menu though. Seems to depend on how busy the ship is and how many sea days there are. Not much point in them doing it if every day is in port, or there are low passenger numbers.
