  1. This is what I believe hurt us. We booked an ocean view with the picture window for the Jewel cruise we just got off. We used a FCC and two CNC. Even bidding the maximum for both balcony and club balcony suites we were unsuccessful even though they had about 40 of these cabins left a week before our cruise. Considering my husband was willing to pay zero dollars, as we spent a small fortune this past March, we were not disappointed in not winning. Our selected cabin was in a perfect location for us. Now, the bathroom and bed situation are a different story.
  2. We were also in this sailing and did not have any issues. However, we did in March while on the Epic so I completely get it. Very frustrating.
  3. Thank you. I will try to remember that when we cruise on the Encore in 2025 from Seattle.
  4. We were on the Epic in March and thought the Haven was wonderful. Enjoyed it much more than our other Haven experience on the Joy last year. I think the pool, lounge and restaurant are much bigger.
  5. We just got off the Jewel today and had once a day cabin service. Not a fan. Some days we choose not to get our cabin serviced and just grabbed more towels. And we became one of those people that put our cups and plates outside the cabin. The cleaning time was very sporadic.
  6. Did you have a reservation or just show up? I have been trying to make one for tonight and nothing is available.
  7. My husband and I are also on this sailing. Do not give up on the upgrade yet as another reliable travel site still shows a lot of available cabins. I have a feeling they will upgrade some tomorrow.
  8. I have 12 passes reserved for our June 2024 extended family cruise on the Joy and will be paying for eight of them so I understand the big additional cost factor. When I did my budget 18 months ago, I factored it in.
  9. My opinion, yes, and you will be happy to have them especially if you have had them before.
  10. I do not think they are making up prices. The problem was that they raised prices between when those called for a price and their embarkation. The old going rate of $59 was relatively cheap compared to what passengers would be willing to pay. I am just surprised it took NCL so long to raise the price. And I totally agree with you, the price is worth it to stay out of the crowds.
  11. I am glad we sailed before the price change. I do believe you were quoted the wrong price and it would upset me if it was me-especially when I purchased six of them .
  12. Does not make it right, but they probably gave you the wrong price because of the huge price increase. We paid $59 in March for our extended family members not staying in the Haven with us. I did not mind paying $59 for them, but I would not have paid $199.
  13. Yes, it is. While not as nice as the Vibe (in my opinion), it is still worth it. How much are the passes now and they started selling them online?
  14. I would like to add that when I cancelled a booked excursion two weeks ago, the credit to our charge card was received three days later. I thought that was a very quick refund.
  15. We have never before, but are going to at the end of the month when we are on the Jewel. We picked Cagney's.
  16. Wow, early notice and congratulations! Thank you for reporting.
  17. I agree, it has been gone for years. The last time we sailed when our now two young adults children were between 18-20 was 2019 and it was not available then.
  18. I do not disagree. For our February 2024 cruise on the Encore, my husband and I were going back and forth about reserving a Haven cabin. We decided on an extended club balcony cabin instead and reserved a Vibe cabana. For me, the best part of Haven is the restaurant. With four specialty dinners and one night doing the buffet (Super Bowl ), that left two dinners in the Haven and they are certainly not worth $5000+ to us. I also think that the Joy Haven sundeck does not have enough comfortable loungers. Those funny shaped ones that are meant for two should be replaced with normal loungers and I think that would help finding an available lounger. Just my opinion.
  19. I agree, while popular, very unlikely sold out for the entire 2024. I would not be surprised if NCL decided to eliminate the non Haven spa suites.
  20. Better than last year? I thought the ones last year were amazing. I enjoyed them much better than the ones on the Epic in March. Hoping for another great foursome next year when we are on the Joy again.
