The reviews I've read are near universal the "attendants" are visibly stressed and overworked

Where are these reviews please?   Are they from passengers or stewards?

Are you able to quantify why the stewards are "visibly stressed and overworked" and more so than they were before?    They always seemed to be "visibly stressed and overworked".

How much of it is due to the "changes in circumstances" themselves and how much to "passenger pressures" because of them?

Was the original booking made when there was a special offer for the person who dropped out?

3rd/4th person free?   2nd person 50% off?    Is that offer still available?   If not that would be why the extra $800.

A re-fare (cancellation/re-book) always involves the cancellation of the previous offers and replacement with those on offer at the change point.

My wife goes to the early show most nights we cruise and we arrive at the midships dining room as it opens at 6pm (that one as I don't like wearing longs; the stern dining room where you have to opens at 5.30),   We let them know she wants to go to the show and we are usually clear by 6.45.

Shows were at 7pm, don't know how often shows are at 6.30.   If the eat after.   BUT they will be full with people going after the first show and before the second.

I now notice the particular items that have a supplement to the dining package listed. So one may order a five course meal and pay nothing extra?    Yes; so long as you are ready for extra if order the "upcharge" item; if you think that you can eat a full  course meal!!!

I noticed that on the East Meets West menu (not a specialty restaurant), sushi is extra but most things are not. Can I dine there eating only the free items? I love most of the starters and soups.   I have no idea of the East Meets West restaurant but, if it is like the Jasmine Restaurant on ships we have been on, the Sushi is well away from the rest of the restaurant.

  5. If you mean do NCL still try to con you into paying exorbitant prices for stuff they leave in the fridge then I presume they still do.   But thinking back I can't recall it being there on the Jade.

You will see from the calendar that it will be Cruise Port  Amsterdam. Close (walkable distance)  to the center of Amsterdam,

I suggest you visit the website once in a while,

Thank you again but calendar & website?

We will be there for 3 days (Sunday 27th to Wednesday 30th) before we join a Viking cruise to Bucharest.

  7. We dine at the "less formal" (longs not required) main dining room early and have never had to wait for more than a couple of minutes.

When we leave there is sometimes a queue and the use of pagers but that is uncommon and you soon learn when that is likely to occur; based on people wanting to go to or come from the shows.

  8. We buy insurance as soon as we pay out ANY money other than the deposit especially airfare and certainly before we make the final payment.

Also my wife was unexpectedly and suddenly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, possibly Covid induced, after taking out the insurance for two upcoming cruises.   The company said it would be covered WITHOUT additional premium, they had a term for that sort of thing, can't remember what it was..
