Then I would say go for the lights. You love to decorate for the holidays and do such a wonderful job of it, this would allow you to focus more on the interior decorations. It is a lot safer and easier to have the outside done. Plus, didn't you say you wanted to do other holidays too? These sound like something you can use for many different occasions. I am sure you will have many cruises in your future too.

@Sea Dog I would want to know who does the maintenance on the lights? What is some of them go out? What if they get dirty and need to be cleaned?

We fed everyone early yesterday and drove over to Bellingrath Gardens to see the house and gardens with Christmas lights. Wow. The lights were spectacular and the house done beautifully. There was a smore station. Yummy.

My wonderful nail tech gave me gnomes on my nails for Christmas.

Well the kittens have all gone to their forever homes. They are settling in and taking over their respective homes. Reba was spayed yesterday and is recovering I one of our bathrooms. I am so happy that they all have good homes.

Even in my 20s that whole experience sounded awful. No matter how much booze would have been involved.

Pensacola is my kind of city. Big cities and crowds are not my idea of a fun time.

It won't be quite counter depth, about the same depth it is now. We have an extra refrigerator and an upright freezer in the utility room. We have a butcher block prep island. You can see the corner of it in the picture. Then we have a breakfast bar behind where I was standing. We use it to eat most of our meals on. All our flooring (except the bathrooms) are the same tile and we have plenty more in the garage to fill in any gaps. Since we bought the house we have replaced all the appliances except the ovens. I really like what we have now so I am trying not to replace very much with this. The countertops are probably going to go because even though they are not that old I am not crazy about them.

To the left of the frig is an opening. We don't really ever use that opening since there is an opening to the dining room and a big opening out of the picture to the back of me. We are going to build a wall in the opening and push the frig down to that area. Then where the frig is there will be 2 feet of wall left to hide the microwave. The rest of the wall will be cut down to just above counter height, giving an open feeling and allowing whoever is in the kitchen full view of the living room. Where the microwave is now will become a coffee bar. It won't be a huge redo but will make a big difference in the feeling of the kitchen and when I am working on the island (which I do a lot) I will feel more a part of the family. I will be able to watch Hallmark while I make Christmas cookies.

It would be okay for me. Just happy to not have to clean the kitchen. My family has been eating from the same kitchen for over 50 years. Sure we go out to eat some, have gone on vacation and eaten out every day, the kitchen has moved a few times. However, most of the time we eat my cooking with not too many complaints. I guess we are just not the kind of people who worry we won't be able to find food.

I am excited. My Christmas gift this year is getting my kitchen redone (work starting after the holidays). This wall is opening up and the frig is getting pushed down. Not a huge change but it will make me smile while I cook.

Lately it is so hard to not post but it is the Holidays and I don't want to play Monopoly. Sigh. Therefore, I am going to make a couple different cookies for the tractor party tomorrow and put together a white elephant gift for my yarn party Sunday.

Hmmm. Have to think about maybe getting the 2 shots, maybe.

@Ocean Boy Why is the one dose shingles shot not good enough? Did it not work at all or just not as well as the 2 dose version?
