  1. When I read this to my spouse he said “wait are they us?” Lol. We are on this very same sailing in a B3 verandah and are facing the same dining struggles! We do drink but never to excess. We don’t have a drink package and always bring our wine with us to dinner if we are having it. We typically like 1 to at most 1 and a half hour dining experiences so we will have read the menu and pretty much know what we want. We are all about equality for everyone and people have said we are great dining partners ☺️. I will go to our roll call and post my contact info if you are interested in joining forces for an earlier dining time.
  2. Just to follow up on my pre post on this thread last week. I am still waiting for a definitive answer from my CVP. He hasn’t ignored me, we’ve discussed this and he is pushing harder past the immediate “active only” reply he gets from Customer Relations. The cruise we want is definitely included on the promo and my DH is a veteran registered with princess who routinely gets the other military benefit of OBC. I will report back when all is said and done.
  3. As has been stated your non refundable gets used first. If you book excursions prior to boarding the OBC will be taken from the persons’ account for whom the excursion is made Once you are on board you can designate which account to charge. Let’s say you have more non refundable OBC than your partner……you can ask the sanctuary or Sabatini’s to bill both reservations to your account. Check your folio daily on the ap and use Crew Chat to settle any errors instead of standing in line at Guest Services.
  4. This is exactly how it went on my Nov sailing to Hawaii. Only the crew weren’t required to mask though many did. Thank you so much for the officer board and all the trouble you took to get it! I really appreciate it. I hope you stay healthy and safe.
  5. It’s been on the menus but not available in the bars. I don’t order wine in MDR as I like to get in and out quickly and ordering drinks slows that down too much for me. So if they have it in the MDR I wouldn’t know.
  6. I’ve sailed waaaaaaay too much since the restart and I have now also sailed without any package, with the plus package and with the premier package. The plus package would be worth it to me IF there was any decent non Chardonnay white wine to choose from on board. Since last June the quality, selection and variety of non Chardonnay white wines has deteriorated to the point where, imo, nice wines simply don’t exist on board. I go to the bars and ask them to please show me all the non Chardonnay white wines they sell by the glass regardless of price point. Once or twice I’ve found an odd ball end of bin last bottle on board of something nice. The Cattier Champagne on the Royal at the beginning of this month was nice but I got tired of drinking it after day 7. And at $18 +18% it’s pricey without the premier (which I had). I will just bring my own wines on board. So starting with my Jan 29 sailing I have no package. I have T-Mobile which works world wide while in port so I don’t need internet. I pre-ordered a couple of cases of water for my stateroom and bought a coffee card. I have my (elite) mini bar for a couple of beers and cocktails. That said if you drink Chardonnay, Prosecco, red wine or cocktails the plus or premier package probably works great for you.
  7. @kiwimumthank you so much! Totally don’t mind the beam. Wow 30 plus days. I wish DH liked to sail as much as I do. I’d love to spend that much time at sea! Looks like you have a tall table? I have a hold on D740. Some of the older posts have suggested that one side might get smells while the other doesn’t. Hopefully we get more folks with experiences post restart. These are great cabins and I’m hoping the issue from years ago has been resolved. You have given me hope!!!
  8. He said that Princess Customer Relations gave him that answer. And @Ken the cruiserit is for a brand new booking that is included for this promo. I’ve worked with him for many years and he’s been excellent. I think he got a clueless CR person and didn’t challenge it. I’ve sent him a screenshot and asked him to pursue this again. I’ll let you know the outcome.
  9. I have read all the old reviews of these cabins (early 2000’s to 2013) and saw while many had severe garbage odors on the balcony some reported none. I am hoping folks with more recent experience will report on the presence or absence of odors from the huge vents between these aft facing premium balconies. Thank you in advance for sharing your after the restart experiences.
  10. He is a princess CVP and said customer relations told him only active military qualified. I’m wondering if @ChangeOrderis active military and that’s why they got the free upgrade or are they a veteran and still got it. If the later I will go back to my CVP and push harder. But only if I know someone else says they were a vet and got it.
  11. Are you active military? My CVP said it was for new bookings for active military only. But the OP screen shot seems to contradict this. Or are a veteran able to pay for plus and be upgraded for free? I’m going to really bug my CVP to get this benefit. Thanks in advance.
  12. @Cruizin4usthanks for such a great live from. I am really annoying it! If it’s not too much trouble would you mind posting a picture of the officer board? I am boarding on the 29th and am so happy to hear how great so many things are right now. Also I noticed that the wine and fruit you got at the very beginning had a card from the Vice President of Food and Beverage. Since the officer on the ship is usually called the Food and Beverage Director I’m wondering if you have corporate on the ship now? Thanks again and I hope your last few days are as great as the first many days.
  13. There’s a mazatlan expat group on a site I can’t name but they have excellent boots on the ground info. Also CAPTA (link in the admins post there). I’m on Royal and am planning on getting off as usual. One of our officers is flying home out of mazatlan as if this afternoon.
  14. I seriously don’t know why they aren’t using Crew Chat on the ap. It’s the same on the Royal right now.
  15. I feel the same. Coral and Island princess might be a great first choice. There’s a lot of griping on these boards about the Island but I’ve sailed her many many times and just love her. Aloha deck aft facing suite is one of the best cabins at sea.
  16. Do not take any answer here as the truth. In fact don’t take the word of anyone on the other end of the princess 1800 #. Read your travel summary, read the princess website FAQs @MelbTonewas kind enough to link. The answer will be very clearly spelled out.
  17. Thank you for posting. We board in October. First time on a Windstar ship so I will be following along here.
  18. Probably. I am not as familiar with the cabin classes on Oceania as I am on other lines. It’s definitely a deck 7 aft extended balcony though. Just my style. 😀
  19. For me and my DH this really would be a treat. We sail in suites (other line) all the time but have never had a butler. Never thought I’d have a use for one. Just taking our first on Oceania in March but picked a B4 with the extra large balcony. This is a compelling reason to book a PH though! Thanks for the info.
  20. A727 (and A726) are fabulous very wide full wrap around balconies. They give full side views and aft. The only down side is the door out is on the side so going out and in your cabin is really cold and windy while at sea (unless the wind is in your favor). Once you turn the corner it is wind free in the aft. I loved it for scenic cruising in Alaska. It would be best if they could get the corner and mid suites on the same side so they can open the balconies up. With the port/starboard rooms they will have to keep going into the hallway. It depends on how close (friendship wise) the two groups are. Will each group have access to the others balconies when they have to knock on their door to use it? The folks in the corner cabin get the best scenic sailing days view but on sea days the mid ship suite is best. Even though I had sailed the corner suite for Alaska I chose the mid ship one for Panama as it was always usable.
  21. I’ve sailed to Alaska many times and I sailed the Sapphire to Hawaii last month. You’ve picked a great destination on a great ship congratulations! I also sail forward facing and aft facing suites almost exclusively but for Alaska I’d pick the aft facing every time. The grand suite is really special and you will not regret it. The forward suite balcony may or may not be useable at sea. It’s really up to the weather at that moment which is why you hear conflicting reports. But the aft facing suite is almost (but not entirely) guaranteed to be windless and useable. While sailing out of Skagway the aft is facing north for hours upon hours as you sail down that lovely fjord. Check the University of Alaska northern lights webpage. If the KP factor is 4 or more set your alarm for 1 am and start looking for them from your lovely windless north facing balcony. I’ve seen them twice on 2 different sailings in May. MDR breakfast, lunch and dinner will be delivered to any full suite cabin upon request. But the Grand suite has a dining room table with 4 chairs inside in addition to your balcony dining table. If you experience any difficulty getting thru to room service on your phone (MDR can’t be ordered on the ap) call guest services and they can usually get you someone. If it (or any issue comes up that isn’t easily resolved) continues to be an issue, use the medallion ap Crew Chat feature to ask the Guest Services director to give you a call. It was Dean Haan last month and he was simply amazing! He really ensured every day of our 15 day Hawaii sailing went beautifully. In the 120 plus days I’ve sailed princess since the restart the ap on board has worked well the vast majority of the time. I can understand why someone would complain about it if their one and done sailing had issues, but I’ve got a lot of sailings to compare and have fallen in love with it. The crew chat means never, ever standing in line at GS, love checking my portfolio every day on it!, the locate your shipmate feature is priceless. The Order Now feature can be wonky sometimes (hint always double check the delivery location before ordering). But honestly over all my sailings it really has worked great far more than not. I sailed 20 days in Alaska this year alone and the internet worked fine for what I needed (texts, sending pics and emails, browsing internet) when I needed it. If it didn’t I just put down the iPad and tried later. I’m in Alaska with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world 24/7 so I simply didn’t stress out about internet. Speaking of scenery, this year I splurged on a pair of Nikon monarch 7 10 X 42 binoculars and am so glad I did. I can’t believe it took me this long! The experience was night and day from my old less than binoculars that I’d been using. Food is subjective so no one can really predict how you will feel about it. My experience has been 90% good to great. On the Sapphire last month I had the best lobster tails ever on a ship. (On my aft facing balcony with a gorgeous Hawaiian sunset show) I usually don’t even order them as I’m from the east coast where my mom gave me lobster as my first solid food (not really but you get the idea). If anything isn’t to your liking simply request something else. Have a great cruise!
