  1. We were also there in March on the Crown, probably right there with you. We were celebrating our 40th Anniversary. We had honeymooned on Maui and Kauai so were disappointed that we missed both of those ports. We're giving it another go on the August 5 departure on the Emerald and hoping we don't miss those ports again.
  2. Your email address is used for logging in and while this is technically not your user id/member ID (as shown on the My Account tab, see below) it's probably difficult to change on the fly depending on how their database is set up. So you probably have to work directly with a Princess rep to get it updated
  3. On the Emerald in January, they had a QR code at the karaoke session to view their song list. I have attached the PDF here. Not sure if this is the same for all ships or if it changes very often. But it's probably good enough for you to preview karaoke_song_list.pdf
  4. Yes on the Emerald in January 2023 (Panama Canal, Ft. Lauderdale to L.A,) Yes on the Crown in March 2023 (Hawaii RT from L.A.) Also had Princess Pop Choir and lotsa karaoke on both cruises.
  5. If you still have the shirt, I would suggest posting a picture. Did you purchase it onboard or at the port?
  6. We only ate at Sur La Mer once, but I thought it was very good. Most of the complaints I saw seemed to be about the location more than the food.
  7. There may be some end-of-cruise excursions which may include transfer to LAX, but if you're only looking to get to the airport, you can book a transfer under the Travel section of the cruise personalizer. Transportation is typically by bus.
  8. Guess I got in just under the wire... The ones I purchased in March are good until 2025.
  9. Agreed... We have been using rechargeable motion sensor lights in the bathroom for our last few cruises. The charge lasted the entire 15 day cruise. The only drawback is they attach magnetically and there is very little ferrous metal in the bathroom area. There is a ceiling vent above the sink that works. On one ship (Discovery?) the shelf railings were metal and the magnets worked. On the Crown, the shelf railings didn't work but the door did. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08M69ZLQ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  10. It was originally scheduled on many (all?) of the full transit Panama Canal cruises for this year, but was then removed. Not sure why, but I suspect political issues in Nicaragua
  11. Mrs OS loves the sun and also likes to watch sunsets, so I tend to try to maximize the number of sunsets we can see from our balcony. in the cases where it's 50/50, I will likely pick the side with sunsets at the end of the cruise. On our recent Hawaii cruise, when we docked in Ensenada, the port side was toward the dock. It was probably the sunniest day of the entire cruise and, since we didn't get off the ship there, she had sun on the balcony most of the time there.
  12. We sailed on a 4-day comedy cruise last November. I thing that I liked is that they had an improv group as one of the acts. If you are familiar with "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" it was very similar to that.
  13. We had no plans in Hilo, so Mrs. OS and I walked to Keaukana Beach Park (perhaps a mile) and enjoyed the view with the sound of the waves crashing over the rocks. And we were never really far from the ship 20230310_122257.mp4
  14. I'd give the speaker a B minus as he knew the topic and was obviously a big fan himself, but, for the most part, just read the talk from a script. (Side note: We had dinner with him the night before and he was much more lively in person.) As to the content, I am not an avid opera fan. I just had the time available and thought I'd check it out. I did enjoy hearing the music bits and, as I mentioned above, he did seem to know the topic well based on the times when it was obvious that he was speaking off the cuff rather than reading his script.
  15. Completely agree.... I block the ones by the nightstands with pillows or shoes.. For the one in the closet area, I like to cover the bottom/end of the sensor with tape or a band-aid, but leave the top open so I can wave my hand over it for the times I want the light. I also have a couple portable sensor-activated night lights that I bring onboard. These are not nearly as bright as the ship-installed ones and (I feel) are much better for nighttime maneuvering.
  16. To give you an idea of the wind on our second day in Honolulu 20230308_090124 - Trim.mp4
  17. If you log onto your account on the website, there is a list of your past cruises/ships under My Account
  18. Mostly, I was just listening to the music as I was reading since much of the detail of his talk was over my head, not being the aficionado I know @XBGuy to be... Mostly, I went to the talk because we had dinner with the speaker the night before. and I needed an excuse to not go to the gym with Mrs. OS.
  19. I read it as a coffee package similar to the other beverage packages which would probably be on a per person per day charge like the soda package as opposed to a one-time charge for a specific number of coffees. Granted that the article is a few weeks old and lacking any details, we won't really know until Princess actually makes an announcement.
  20. Day 3 - March 4 Mrs OS and I celebrated our 40th anniversary onboard. I took in an enrichment talk in the morning (Why we love opera) while Mrs. OS opted to walk on the treadmill. We partook in progressive trivia and pop choir rehearsal. Capped the day off with the Ultimate Balcony Dinner
  21. I saw this article yesterday, so it's possible that a new coffee option is on the way which might be priced/sized depending on the length of the cruise Princess Cruises Adds New Package Option for Passengers https://www.cruisehive.com/princess-cruises-adds-new-package-option-for-passengers/95184?fbclid=IwAR2koNB6Ixm7PL1fv3DhoentKEHiKBF5auqRsshiRZ8tTUnEPxwNe5A3ALU
  22. Boarded the Crown yesterday. I could not pre-purchase soda or coffee package. I was able to get Mrs. OS the soda package. The charge turned out to be $15/day. I was told that the coffee package was "not available on this cruise," but there was no reason for this. The implication is that it might be available on other cruises, but still unsure.
  23. First day.... disappointed that the coffee package is not available on this cruise. Guest Services rep seemed as puzzled as me as to why it's not available. I was able to get Mrs. OS a soda package, but later discovered that somehow I also got charged for the non-alcohol package ($600) Still waiting for that charge to be removed. On the plus side.... Went to dinner at 7:30- no reservation. Da Vinci dining room had lines for both those with and without reservations... Dropped down to Michelangelo's on Deck 5... walked right in... Karaoke in Explorers was not heavily attended, but still fun. Two singers were able to perform twice. One was a very good singer. No comment on the other Day 2... Pop choir sign ups... lots of people... I've done this about 5 or 6 times in the past, but this is the largest starting group (people sometimes flake out as the cruise progresses) and also the first time the director had each person sing to try to determine vocal range. (Mrs. OS begged off as she had a cold last week and her voice is still recovering... She just said, "I'm an alto," and left it at that.) Weather-wise: still cool out and seas are still a bit choppy... Hopefully will improve in the next day or two
