  1. My post was not directed at the tribute bands, but more so of the overall show schedule
  2. FWIW here are the shows from the week prior. Should be fairly consistent since the itinerary doesn’t change much out of Bayonne
  3. That’s fantastic! Not sure we’ll ever reach that milestone but here’s hoping. The drink vouchers will be a wonderful supplement to our cruises. Royal is such a good cruise line, with amazing ships, and now it will be even better. Looking forward to the Quantum in July out of Seattle. Happy cruising!
  4. Interestingly one of the leads was sick on our cruise so there were no showings of We Will Rock You unfortunately.
  5. We are also from MI and were on the Anthem the week before you. We also drove for the first time (stayed the night before in Allentown) We would do it all over again. We really have very little to criticize. The staff was great, fellow cruisers were great, food was great, cabins were great (with lots of storage space). The biggest difference was getting on a cruise ship when it's in the 30's outside. I didn't get warm until Port Canaveral, but once we got there it was beautiful warm weather until the last day heading back. So yeah, the itinerary isn't the best, but it got the job done. Loved the indoor spaces, like the solarium, 270, etc... Our biggest tip is try to board asap and book the "extras" like the Northstar and iFly right away. They book up FAST. We were able to do both the first day. It was really cool seeing the NY skyline from the Northstar. To top it off we turned Diamond on the cruise.💎 Woohoo! Happy to hear you had a great time. Dan
  6. Yes just make sure you each have your set sail pass and each tag your bags appropriately. No problem
  7. Bummer to lose a few hours. At least you have the rest of the week to make up for it. Was just on the Anthem last week for the first time and loved it.
  8. We showed up at 5:30 PM every night on the anthem last week. I think early seating was 515 but they said they would hold tables until 5:45 PM.
  9. Was on the Anthem last week. Glad we had traditional early seating. The line for MTD got LOOONG each evening. BTW, we found the food quality to be pretty much identical to all of our other sailings... except for the bao pork tacos that had some sort of nasty sauce on top that isn't typical. The duration for dinner was the same also. It was not any faster (which is fine with us). Typically 90-120 minutes total. The only issue we had was the first night when both my wife and FIL ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came out well done. This was clearly the waiters fault. It's obvious that the meat was overcooked versus our order and should not have been brought out. Grey versus red/pink. Fortunately the Maître D happened to ask if we were willing to move our table to another location to accommodate a large travelling group. After seeing our new table location, and wait staff, we happily obliged. From then on (night 2-7) it was stellar. Benni and Sunny are fantastic and made sure everything went awesome. Dan
  10. Nicely said. Not often you get folks circling back like this. Like @LobsterStalker stated, impressive. Cheers!
  11. These were on the chairs of the Anthem last week and we did notice a marked improvement with the guests' mentality of holding chairs. It was improved. I really appreciated the new notices on the chair backs.
  12. You do realize that you are interpreting the policy one way, and that there is also another accurate way to interpret it? (which happens to be the way Royal is practicing the language of their policy.) The language is vague enough that your interpretation could be correct, but it's not the interpretation that Royal is following. It's Royal's fault for making the language open for multiple interpretations.
  13. Yes, that’s absolutely fair. To me it’s clear how Royal has been interpreting their own policy language based on their past decade of how they practice it. However I also completely agree that Royal could (really should) clarify this to remove any doubt for discussions like these. Dan
  14. Amen. Exactly. Thank you. and to clarify, their "appropriate tier status" is what they had upon turning 18, whether it was earned by actual points sailed, or earned by grandfathering in by sailing with a parent that had higher status.
  15. Regarding this topic, you can't say anything with that much certainty, other than... "We'll find out" 🙂
  16. That's not how it's worked in the past in the vast, vast majority of cases. The level you are at when you turn 18, even if it's grandfathered, is what you have for life. In order to get a higher status than that, you need to do it on your own points. Both of our daughters were platinum, and so were we, when they turned 18. They missed out on being grandfathered at all. My son is only 15 and got grandfathered into Emerald with us, and will now get grandfathered into Diamond. He'll have 60 points on his own after our Alaskan cruise this summer so he's not too far off anyway Problem is, there is inconsistency with how they are treating those over 18 that were grandfathered. The vast majority have kept whatever status they were grandfathered into at 18. The instance by the OP is not the norm Dan
  17. @LobsterStalker and @moposh, I read the rules like @Ourusualbeach describes below. For example, say a minor was grandfathered into Diamond before turning 18 (even though actual status is Platinum). C&A is saying that if, after 18, they continued accidentally getting grandfathered into their parents status and the parents made D+, the child would revert back to Diamond, not all the way back to Platinum.
  18. The minor dependent shows the status of the parents. We just went on a cruise last week with my son, 15, who is Platinum in his own right. My wife and I were were Emerald on the cruise. His card said Emerald as well. Our older two daughters, 18 and 21, who are also Platinum in their own right with 46 points but have cards and status that still say Platinum. However, my wife and I turned Diamond on that cruise last week, so our son will be Diamond as well, even though his actual points now are 53. Will be interesting to see what happens with our sons status when he turns 18.
  19. No fuss at all. My wife just reminded them that they were supposed to give it back to our stateroom the last evening, which I think is typically by 7 PM. You could still enjoy it that evening, if you wanted, which is what we did. You can bring four on board for sure if you have two people who are 21 years or older in each staterooms. Honestly, it’s worth risking it in my opinion. Worst case you get it back the last evening anyway.
  20. Propulsion issue is resolved. Just off the 3-19 cruise on the Anthem and hit all ports on time(even a little early in some cases) Dan
  21. 3-19 sailing on the Anthem out of Bayonne… My wife and I each tried to bring two bottles (we have connecting staterooms and I was going solo to get us to Diamond on this cruise). She had one bottle taken away and it was delivered to our room the last night. I went through a different security line and made it through with both. There is signage in many locations saying one bottle per person in room (up to two max per room)
  22. That’s what we would normally do but our son is with us and it’s his first time there. I would like to give him a little feel for the island this time, good or bad. 😂 We are skipping port Canaveral and staying on the ship. We just spent a week there before Christmas in a VRBO so don’t need to return so soon
  23. Absolutely. I don’t have the WiFi package on the ship but can update at our first port which will either be Port Canaveral on the 21st or Nassau the following day. of course, if I find out anything before the cruise, I will make sure to post
