When would those tier points expire? Does Celebrity use a 12-month calendar year? Do points expire Dec. 31? I’m in a weird place because I get no mailers or emails and feel very unofficial and not like a BCC member. Recently completed my second five-day sailing. The casino host onboard said she thought I would qualify for a free sailing. I called when I got home and was told I could book a veranda. The BCC rep today, when I called to inquire about an upgrade, said something about calling two weeks after each sailing to see about offers.

I have B2B sailings on the Beyond in May (different cabins, long sailings, both IVs) and am concerned after hearing that audio. Yikes! Was on the ship earlier this month and amazed by how quiet my interior cabin was. Such a beautiful ship. I hope the noise thing gets sorted out.

I had an unlucky run last week and was on hold a very, very long time - twice. Got through quickly to new bookings number (option 1) and was transferred. And waited, and waited, and gave up. Maybe I’ll try again this week. I have an existing booking and was asking about the upgrade. Thanks.

Probably a stupid question, but my sailing indicates no Aqua class availability left. Does BCC hold any cabins back?

I was unpleasantly surprised on the Beyond this month when I had to upgrade to premium to use Amazon WorkSpaces. (I had some unfinished work I had pledged to complete.) I assumed the basic internet plan on the Beyond would work just as the basic internet plans worked for me on the MSC Meraviglia the week before, Odyssey of the Seas in the Mediterranean in September and the Carnival Pride in the middle of the Pacific Ocean in February. I logged on after boarding and AWS wouldn’t open when I logged on using the basic internet plan I had prepurchased. Went to ilounge, or whatever it’s called, and the guy logged into my laptop using his credentials to confirm basic plan wouldn’t work for me and to show me that the upgraded plan would work. I canceled my five-day basic plan and, rather than pay $175 for five days (almost twice as much as basic), bought the premium plan for 24 hours for about $50. (I just needed the internet for one day.) I’m fortunate to have work flexibility but now need to factor in extra money if I plan to work on a sea day on a Celebrity ship. Disappointed that the latest, greatest fancy internet service provider, or whatever it’s called, on this new ship couldn’t deliver with the basic (much less pricey) internet plan. Guess I was spoiled by my previous experiences on other lines.

Do the free offers extend beyond 2023? I have never received anything by mail or email from BCC, though I only recently completed my second sailing. I called, however, and was able to book a complimentary sailing for 2023. I hope one day to receive emails and/or mailers and that this wasn’t an isolated offer. I’m receiving a lot of Royal offers after one recent sailing (first sailing with them in probably 20 years). I know Celebrity is not Royal, but they’re family, I think. Learning a lot on here, so thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge and experiences.

I was on the Meraviglia this month out of PC. First time on MSC. (I had status-matched to Diamond.) Very long line out the door. Approached several people to ask about a possible Diamond line. Was told there was a Diamond area once inside the terminal, and that I needed to go to the back of the line. Once inside, before security, there was another long-ish line. After I got through that I was pointed to a Diamond area and on the ship quickly. Also, they didn’t care whatsoever about my boarding time, so I don’t know what the point of that was. I think they said it was because there were so many passengers on that sailing that they didn’t care about boarding time window. Curious to know if this is standard at PC.

Free drinks were available in the casino on my Beyond sailing earlier this month. I think it’s a thing on all Celebrity ships but am a relative newbie to the line.

Hi. Pretty new to Celebrity (two sailings so far). Doubt I qualify for an Aqua Class upgrade, but curious: How does it work? I’m in an IV cabin in May (cruise only). (Called BCC and they set it up. I have never received an email or paper offer but just completed my second sailing Nov. 13 so maybe it’s too early? Or maybe like some people have reported I’ll never receive offers by mail or email.) If one qualifies, does that upgrade entail a room change? I’m also not sure what benefits Aqua Class confers (Blu, the spa?). Thanks for any insight.

I seem to recall the requirement for a free cruise is 9,999 points (regardless of cruise length). I was on a short sailing on the Meraviglia this month (first time on MSC) and was approached by a casino host the first night. I earned a few thousand points and received a certificate for 30 percent off and some OBC on a future sailing.

Hi. I know the weather is unpredictable. Anyone else on this sailing have a sense of whether the itinerary (Mexico) will be impacted? First time in dozens of cruises I’ve encountered timing like this. Guess I’ve been lucky. Thanks.

FWIW, I got off the Meraviglia yesterday (first-time MSC cruiser). The credit card information I entered during online check-in was active. I didn’t have to go to a kiosk or do anything special. (Called guest services early on to ask if I needed to go to a machine and was told no. The last four digits of my credit card also showed up when I checked billing details on the app.)

I’ll be on the Meraviglia for three days and purchased the plan, hoping to do some work at the very least on the ship before we leave port. Anyone have personal experience with the internet on the ship? At sea? Is there better service in a particular area? I don’t need to stream video or anything. First time on MSC. Internet worked flawlessly on Carnival Pride in February the first four sea days when we were en route from L.A. to Hawaii. (I was pleasantly surprised.) Thanks for any insight!

Thanks. I get free cruise offers on several other lines but really enjoyed Celebrity. Maybe one day they’ll accidentally mail me something.

I got 2,800 points on a four-night sailing in April (ended up Onyx). I’ve never gotten an email, postcard. Does that seem right in anyone’s experience? Happy for those who are getting the offers! Bon voyage!

Yes. It’ll be fine, but Mystery Island on two consecutive days perplexes me.

What’s extra annoying is this is an 11-day cruise and I see shorter ones doing two days in Noumea and one day at Mystery Island. So it’s not a matter of not being able to get to Noumea twice. Mystery Island is a tender port too. Seriously disappointed. Guessing it’s much cheaper for Carnival to call on Mystery Island two days rather than Noumea two days. How many photos can one get in that soup pot?

Carnival has said Mare and Isle of Pines are closed through end of 2023 so we’ll now do two consecutive days at Mystery Island on the 1/29/23 Splendor sailing. Mystery Island isn’t even inhabited, and one day was more than enough when I was there in 2019. Would prefer two days anywhere but there. Holding out hope they revise the itinerary again for the better.

I did a scavenger hunt kind of thing for my daughters. There was a wrapped gift for each of them at the very end of the hunt. Inside were matching T-shirts I had gotten made with our cruise particulars. It was a fun way for them to figure it out, and they were surprised and thrilled. We took a photo in our matching shirts, which we still have somewhere.

Are children 11 and younger assumed to be free of COVID? They don’t have to test at all if I’m reading the protocols correctly. Baffling.

I’ll be using an eMed test but am just trying to figure out the timing. Other cruise lines have typically said two days before and not stated “48 hours.” Thanks. (First time on Royal in about 15 years, and I want to make sure I actually make it on the ship.)
