  1. "We'd like you to remove OBC and gratuities from all included." Said noone ever. I'm just saying.
  2. I also was going to suggest getting a hotel the night before. We do that a lot. we had a flight on American earlier this year, and the moved us to a later flight with a tight connection. We had a free change, so I changed us back to our original flight.
  3. I was on the previous cruise, and while I had a good time, I probably won't sail this ship again unless it was an itinerary I couldn't get another way. The ship has a similar layout to the the Grand (and the dearly departed Star and Golden) it has about 500 more people than the Grand though. It also has about 100 more than the Ruby/Emerald/Crown. Our crew was great, no complaints there. However the ship always felt crowded. There was always a line for coffee at the IC and the only time we got seating was when we were in port. There was always a line at Guest Services, although calling them worked well (we had an issue with our shower temperature and they never really did fix it, although we did get a workaround). We did have one issue with service at Planks, and they offered us a free repeat, but since we had a Crown Grill reservation, I asked if they'd just take off the charge (old Plus Package) and the assistant manager said he would, but two days later, when I was at Guest services, they said he hadin't done it, so they did. I also don't like the size of the Wheelhouse dance floor, and on this cruise they had the good dance bands in the Piazza a lot of the time, which has a mosaic floor, and thus hazardous. And finally, to see a production show you had to get to the theater about 45 early. We still had a nice time, but I didn't love the ship.
  4. Thanks for completing! I sail both lines so am interesting in your conclusions.
  5. Sometimes people get busy, but still want to read. I finish mine later, and sometimes do several in a row between replies. Doesn't mean we don't appreciate it.
  6. We’ll still do Princess but not the Caribbean princess. It’s just too crowded. The ships layout is not as nice as all the gem ships (Ruby, crown etc) and thus has people all over. Its layout is similar to the Grand but has a lot more passengers. The Atrium has a mosaic floor, and we’re dancers so it can be risky for catching your foot. We have the Sun booked in 2025.
  7. We just got off the Caribbean Princess doing a similar itinerary (Quebec to NY) with similar port stops. We were with the Summit in Sydney (discussing if it was possible to switch ships), and of course missing most of them due to the hurricane. I do want to try again, and will probably look at 2025, but if X has a ship doing the same cruise, we'll definately do it on Celebrity not Princess. And we were in Quebec from Thursday to Sunday (ship overnights there on Saturday) and loved it, although I don't quite understand the thing for Poutine.
  8. Thanks for this. I've been on the Caribbean Princess with a significantly altered itinerary. Today is our last sea day so catching up. I remember doing the Maid of the Mist when I was probably around 10 years old with my parents.
  9. Ha. We did a CA coastal on Princess last year. In SF, we had friends who'd we met on a previous Princess cruise, pick us up, and they met the challenge of showing us something we'd never seen - who knew there were buffalo in Golden Gate Park? At the end of the day I pointed out that it's less than 1/2 hour each to meet halfway for dinner. (And we do that occasionally). By the way, if you get to a Grocery store in Toronto, and they have Dare Maple creme cookies, I'll forever be in your debt if you bring me a box.
  10. I thought they ran all night, but on a reduced schedule. A friend and I went out at about 10 and went back an hour later or so. I think we were the only passengers on the tender - rest were crew.
  11. I gather you've never seen the movie A League of their Own (great movie, btw). The teams play all over the area.
  12. They sometimes help, although it can take a while for them to update. On our recent Hawaii cruise, DH's bag was delivered during dinner. Looking at the airtag location, it appeared to still be in the terminal when we went to dinner (ship had left), but the Guest services staff said no bags were left. He did once leave his Ipad on an Air Canada plane. He was able to trace to the Montreal airport. Eventually, and a 100 dollar plus shipping fee he got it back.
  13. Last cruise we put the desk chair on the balcony and moved one of the balcony chairs under the desk.
  14. In Brooklyn a while ago, DH's bag wasn't where it ws supposed to be. A person working there walked the entire terminal with him, and they found it in a completely different section of the terminal, without the tag. I contacted Princess because we had a car waiting and were charged extra for the wait time. They gave us a nice OBC on our next cruise for it. Now we have air tags. Last year, we were walking down the hall to our room on embarkation day and my sister noticed a small bag of hers at someone else door.
  15. She told me she felt so bad for you - after being so careful, you still got it.
  16. Yeah, that's all been a mess. I've seen refundable deposit cruises moved to a new date/ship etc, and changing to a non refundable, and a change fee attaches. Call again to get it backed out. Ususally, lately, they leave it and just add a 100.00 credit on the fare.
  17. Celebrity always has prepaid tips as an extra charge when you first book. They usually fall off the booking within a few days. The only time it can be a real problem is if you book within the final payment window - in that case you usually have 24 hours to pay it all and they won't have fallen off by then. I had to (this was a few years ago) call and get them removed.
  18. Probably too late for you to even consider this, but the best 7th inning stretch I've ever been to was in Milwaukee.
  19. It's only 8 days, and then you can be done. But you'll probably enjoy it. I hope yo do. Glen & I are on Royal Caribbean for 6 days just before we do our Apex cruise in December. I told him that if we hate it, it's only 6 days (on what might be the worlds largest cruise ship). We can put up with anything for 6 days. Next year, we'll do one on Azamara. Have fun. We' leave for Quebec for 10 days on Princess, where we will have to pay to order food from the app, I think.
  20. Yes, I know. That was my point, ie it was never mentioned in the call as something that was going away. Maybe because, unlike canapes and chocolate, you can't just "ask for it back". 😁
  21. I don't eat fish, so get a lot of fruit amuse bouche. I feel your pain, although it's more of a choice for me, and I recognize that.
  22. I did that at lunch recently - btw, on the way back from Europe on the Silhouette last year, they ran out of raspberries. The Vacharin looked kind of naked, but still tasted good.
  23. Me three, since, as Jim says, too much chocolate, which I don't like.
