Hotel Gaudi is closer to the port and a great location especially for first timers. We have enjoyed the Gothic Quarter area too. Hotel Gotico is nice too. Love to wander around.

It all comes down to the BB. Did they enter it correctly on the cruise documents? Look at the Travel summary on his cruise personalizer. It should read the same on his account at Princess. There is a chance when it was booked on EZAir, it dropped the II in their system. So, best of luck, hope they can update it.

We stayed at the Hotel Continental Palacete, sister hotel to Hotel Continental. Great location, very interesting rooms, mostly pink and looked very Victorian. It’s a historical palace. My sister had a room with a little balcony. Included snacks, breakfast, wine, beer. Just really different. Look at their pictures online, you’ll see. There are so many hotels in Barcelona to chose from!

Wow! Such a shame to waste your time on this. I wish you had booked with a TA/CVP so tjey could fix it. Now, your DH’s name should already be correct on his Princess account. From that account you book cruises, EZ Air, download his passport, etc. All of these should match the passport. Does the passport have the II? Many times when you have a JR, SR, II, etc…the airline computer system may run it together on the eticket and that’s no big deal. They know that happens and it’s okay. But, you’re in the middle of this now and if you need to correct his name on his account, then PCL can do this. If that is right, then the tickets should be correct. If it’s still just an EZAir issue, I would call first thing tomorrow and ask for a supervisor. If you have a TA, I’d ask for assistance. Also, I don’t understand why United and American freq flyer numbers don’t match. You should have his name the same on everything. If you’re trying to alter the name, that’s why there’s an issue. Easiest: Same spelling on all documents. Airlines require this also.

I’m sure it will be very nice and memorable. I think destination proposals are really romantic. But, the cruiselines are taking care of everything for him, so that makes it easy too.

We had a guy pop the question on a glacier in Alaska. Helicopter tour of glaciers. When they got out onto the glacier, he went down on one knee. Fabulous background and something to remember. Where are they cruising to?

They are required to accept credit cards. But, I did not ask. Just used Euros, since wanted the best rate. We do a lot of Med cruises and always get Euros. ATM’s everywhere at the banks in Barcelona if you need Euros.

You are really close. I would just get a taxi and they will take you right to the terminal. Probably 10 mins max. Hotel can just call a taxi for you.

The pictures you asked about in this thread (#7 post) are midship obstructed balconies not mini suites and the big white shades below these are from the restaurants on either side, just outside seating really. They don’t serve out there from the restaurants. At least not yet. You are not near these. You are aft.

I think that is further aft than you, I believe. Looks like lifeboat equipment. You can see it in the pictures, further out. I looked below you on Deck 7. That area under the mini suites is the promenade area. If you search for pictures of deck 7, it looks like right below E706 and E708 is just the promenade. I found a couple of pics, just below deck 8 cabins in your area.

Yes, they do have the shower stools and would be a lot more sturdy than that black stool the Op pictured. I know they have them, because I had a huge balcony once with no foot stool. I asked for a foot stool and he brought a shower stool. 😂 He did finally find a foot stool. Must have been a shortage. IDK

These are not obstructed mini suites. ME category. Maybe someone has a picture of the balcony. You would have to go out on the balcony and look down and towards the middle of the ship to see lifeboats.

Are you leaving from Australia? The Plus shows drinks up to $22 AUD. I see you said US closed loop. Or, maybe they generated the wrong email? Who knows?

There’s not a way ahead of time to guarantee the same TABLE every night. I told the DRO/Maitre’d the first night, we liked the table and waiters and we would like the same table every night. So, he said tell the ladies at the podium/check in, on our way out. They put it in their computer. Now, we were early diners. No one was assigned it from the previous cruise, so we were okay. This was on the Crown. If that private table is not open, ask for another table to be assigned for the next night. You may have been sent Aft, because previous cruisers already had the 2 tops or at your dining time, it wasn’t open. There are a lot of b2b’s. We do a lot of them. We have done the same thing on every ship since the restart and have been accommodated every sailing.

We ate in DaVinci MDR Mid 6, every night, private table for 2. We could have eaten at any of the MDR’s for a table for 2. It may have been they did not have any available on the Emerald? Check DMW on the App and see where there are available times for a private table to make your choice. Book something, and you can change it once OB, if available. They have been holding back making reservations in the Aft MDR on a lot of ships until closer to sailing or once OB. That may be why that one ends up where they send you if the others are full.

You don’t say if you’re departing NZ? If it’s a US departure, yes you will have some guests dressing up and some crew. We thought it was fun to watch them. Not overbearing though. The other parts of the world, not as much celebrating in costume. We did do a cruise via NZ/Australia during Halloween and seemed a lot less guests dressed up in halloween costumes.
