  1. Thank you so much for putting this in perspective. Some cruisers think it is all about THEM! When, in fact, it is all about US! ALL of us. I feel the cruise lines went back into Alaska too heavily with all these ships. Too many ships to handle after closing for 2 years. But, it is what it is. Thank you for sharing this great information and stay safe!
  2. Yes, thanks. We just called, was easier. I normally used my phone, but some things you can’t do on the App or TV. Especially, if there was a problem with a reservation. The dine line would fix it. You couldn’t order iced tea with lunch, which was free, along with other items. I hope they have fixed some of the quirks since March.
  3. You should see it on your Travel summary in the cruise personalizer, on the PCL website. Should show your flight information and ticket numbers. Also, go to the United App and look up your booking. The airline booking no should be shown on your EZ Air booking. Or in United find your trip with your name, flight etc. You should be able to look at the eticket receipt and see those ticket numbers.
  4. Are you possibly booked on the Crown to Alaska? I would suggest you ask on a current roll call for that ship. They may be able to answer your question.
  5. US passports do not show it. Not sure about CA passports. Airline tickets don’t have to show it, but if it does show, it should not be a problem. The name should appear the same as on the passport. Marital status is not an issue.
  6. You might follow a roll call on your ship the weeks before your sailing and ask that question. Seems the meals are very similar on the Princess fleet. But, who knows? Have a great cruise.
  7. I would be concerned. I have seen a few cases where the airline has cancelled due to non payment by EZAIR. I’m sure the airlines do have a time limit set for payment and ticketing. What it is, I do not know. It may vary between airlines. Regardless, I would request ticketing immediately from EZ Air. I would check my travel summary afterwards or UAL website to make sure I see the ticket numbers after the ticket has been issued. I always travel with a copy of the eticket from the airline, as proof. If you have a TA, get them involved. If not, I’d be on the phone with EZ Air. Recently, a lot of problems due to cancelled flights, so they are working by date of travel. But, so close to travel date, I’d want those tickets issued. They did charge your credit card, right?
  8. You can call the dine line from the cabin and they can make reservations for different DR’s or specialty for you. Or, change reservations. You don’t have to use your phone.
  9. No, not at this time. Only if you are flying back to the US. Is your destination the US?
  10. Then you probably will would pick another option. Good luck. I hope they can fix this ship too, as we are booked on it also.
  11. If you look at previous cancelled cruises, it may give you an idea of how it is handled. Doesn’t mean it will be the same, but just an idea. Here is a copy of the previous Crown cancellation on their website. https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/plan/impacted-and-cancelled-cruises/cancelled-cruises-crown-island-through-april-2022.pdf
  12. That’s why we don’t take ship excursions, now, since the mask mandate was dropped. What I don’t understand…. If unvaccinated can only take a PCL excursion, why wouldn’t they require masks on that bus? If they are transporting covid positive guests to a hotel, like recently in Whittier, AK, why wouldn’t they enforce the mask policy?
  13. I have heard of guests using this and it does have to be exactly the same excursion. If you have one, go ahead and submit it.
  14. Actually it was a very smart lady…. The iconic tape was invented by an Illinois mom named Vesta Stoudt who wanted to save soldiers' lives in World War II. The year was 1943 and Stoudt, who had two sons serving in the U.S. Navy, was working at the Green River Ordnance Plant near Amboy, Illinois. “She noticed that the boxes of ammunition she was packing and inspecting had a flaw,” explains Margaret Gurowitz, Johnson & Johnson's Chief Historian. “They were sealed with paper tape, with a tab to open them. Workers then dipped the entire box in wax to make it waterproof. But the paper tape was very thin, and the tabs often tore off, leaving soldiers frantically trying to open the box while under fire.”
