  1. Has anyone used Caribe Car Rental or Libertad in Bonaire? What was your experience with them? We've always rented from Hertz at the Divi Flamingo, but I'd like to consider someone different this time. Thanks! AC
  2. This was taken off the ship. The dock is on the right side of the picture.
  3. Depending on what time you disembark, and your check in times, you might want to tell the taxi that you want to drop off your bags at the ship, then plan something fun while you're there. It's not fun to sit at the terminal for hours between cruises.
  4. We have been at hotels near the port, and have checked our luggage, left, and the front desk took our cell phone number and called us when the room was ready. They know that guests who are getting on a cruise checks out a little early, and guests getting off the ship will want to check in early. It's been our experience that the hotel was always helpful. One side note: we bring zip ties with us rather than use luggage locks. We don't think anything will happen, but don't want to spoil our trip with a bad outcome.
  5. My 40's adult children and their friends have recently cruised, have upcoming cruises, or dreaming of being on a cruise. My grandkids whine about wanting to go on a cruise. And given that the price of a Disneyland trip for the day for a family of four is more than a weekend cruise- or a week long where the kids sail free, they will probably cruise more in the years to come. The cruise industry will find a way to offer profitable generic cruiseline experiences; there's a market for it.
  6. We used Jiffy Jeff b/c, and we were very happy with their services. If I remember correctly, they picked us up at the Embassy Suites, where we had stayed. After the cruise they picked us up at the port of Miami and dropped us off at FLL.
  7. And the management and guests killed the reef in front of Carambola. The last time we went there I cried when I saw the destruction on that reef. Everything was dead. There were a couple cuddle fish following me and begging for food. Normally they are very shy. Please take care and respect the reefs. The others we have been to since are still in good shape.
  8. Auto corrector gets me again! The BUS is easy to use. Arubus. 😊
  9. A beach club or resort pass might work too.
  10. I've never done the mangrove tour in Bonaire, but I've done the North and South loops in a jeep. If it was me making the decision, I would back out my time in port from the 4:30 all aboard, how much time it will take you to get a rental vehicle, and return it, and get to and from the ship. You may need to prioritize what you want to see then go from there. Have a fun trip!
  11. Inside the park it's nature related, and there's no way a golf cart would work. The park service has stipulations for vehicles to enter the park. Here's the National Park's web address: https://stinapabonaire.org/washington-slagbaai/ Ignore the lack of the video on the site and continue scrolling down for the information you need. If you do decide to visit, make sure that the rental car company gives you a vehicle that would be approved by the park system (and a spare tire). There's a lot of things to see in Bonaire without going into the park. Have fun on your trip! AC
  12. The two places we went to post covid were Blue Bay Resort, and the other was Pirate Bay Beach Club. Pirate Bay Beach Club is small, and a bit rustic. Really good snorkeling, and if you're going to be there for dinner as well, you might want to inquire about dinner reservations. They have tables in the sand, which is a nice experience. Blue Bay is classic styling, and they have a nice restaurant you can eat at as well.I don't remember if we had use of the pool, but the facilities were very nice.
  13. The department of tourism for both countries have great websites to help you plan your days there. Www.Aruba.com/us Www.Curacao.com/en Have a great cruise- AC
  14. If you booked with the ship, there will be arrangements made for chairs and bathroom facilities. It's also easy to get a taxi at either beach to get back. The Weighs is easy to use. That's usually our transportation when we're in Aruba. Google them, and there's plenty of information to answer all your questions. Both ports are a bit of a walk from the taxi drop off and the bus. Allow at least 20 minutes for that.
  15. So... From what I'm reading, it's sounds like someone there just wants to to give me grief. and get nasty. He said I could only redeem the points I used for the cruise as a credit to my account.. I told him I have redeemed all my points for a statement credit in my credit card.only. with no problem. Has anyone else had that problem? I have over 100k that I'd like to use.
  16. I asked my husband if I got it wrong, and he said I did.🙁 That being said, $45.00 per couple is round trip. We enjoyed taking the co-operative, however, they don't come into the port. You would need to walk out of the port. It should be a good option. We will be in Curacao in November, and plan to use either a cooperative or the bus. My apologies for that confusion.
  17. We did take a co-operative to Mambo beach, though many years ago. It was fun, and we rode with locals. They were dropped off at their houses on the way. Very island time. The last two times we were in Curacao (March this year, and October last year). We had short port times and took the taxi at the pier. They were filling up vans to Mambo, very full and quick. The cost of the taxi is $25.00 US p/p. It's posted. We were going to Blue Bay resort in March, and Pirate's Bay Beach Club in October. It was also $25.00 US p/p each. Coming back is $20.00 US p/p each because you don't pay the $5.00 in port charge. So, taking public transportation is a great option. We always feel safe in the ABC islands. Been going since 2003.
  18. Before they call, make sure they have in hand how much they paid for their inside cabin, and what the current price of a balcony is with whatever promos HAL is offering. We have been able to jump a category or two by doing this, and on Princess, we were able to go from a balcony to mini-suite for under $100.00 p/p each. Probably would also be good to check their inventory to see which rooms are available, so if they do upgrade, they know which room is going to suit their needs most.
  19. I called Celebrity the day we tested, and got through right away. It seems I did find a number on the Celebrity website, but it was pretty vague- something like "Past Passengers". I spoke to a woman who read off a million questions, and I could hear her typing my answers on a computer keyboard. Just glad your home. We have a long cruise booked with another cruise line in the spring.
  20. 1% is the number that makes it mandatory to notify the CDC.
  21. We were shocked and embarrassed. The cabin two doors down from us was moved to a quarantine cabin a few days before we disembarked. They used the same hallway, elevator buttons, etc., so we did have exposures in small common areas. My Husband now says "It's not a matter of "IF" you get Covid, it's a matter of "WHEN" you will get covid.
  22. We caught Covid-19 while on the Equinox in March/April this year. We did a 20 day B2B and caught it on the second leg. Since we were on the next cruise, we were tested for covid on the first leg (the tests were negative) . The Captain had a very carefree attitude about all the reported cases (over 1%). We vaccinated, boostered, masked (and masked and masked), hand washed, hand sanitized, we did everything whether everyone did, or not. This was our third cruise since the return, with no problems. What is it with the Equinox?
