  1. We do, too. The ones for the dogs even have cute little doggie icons on them. I was just offerering information for the person who asked where else to buy them. Thanks for chiming in, I think the engraving information may be helpful to others.
  2. If you have an Apple Store near you, that's a good place. Hubby thinks that Best Buy and Target might carry them. Costco now sells Apple products again. I don't know if they have the tags, however.
  3. Just popping in to say: if you are remotely interested in nature or culture, definitely prioritize Brent Nixon's talks. They're fantastic!
  4. Friendly reminder that vaccines work inside your body, not outside of it. They aren't force fields which prevent pathogens from getting in. they are instructions to your immune system as to what to do if the pathogen gets in. In other words, vaccines don't prevent you from catching cooties, they help your body fight cooties.
  5. We, also, have Apple Tags inside each checked bag, and in our carryons, just in case we accidentally walk off without one. We had an overnight layover in Helsinki last month, and it was quite a relief to know that our bags were on the same plane as we were heading home. We have one hidden in each vehicle, as well. We have them on the dogs' collars. My daughter recently moved in (I've got a rent-paying house sitter now, and we travel far more than we are home - woot!). We are currently home and when my daughter and I walk the dogs in the morning, I get alerts on my phone warning me that an unknown tag is following me. They're pretty cool in an "I consciously choose to let Big Brother watch certain things" sort of way.
  6. 2) We just ask our steward for fruit and cheese instead. Easy peasy. We've done it in both concierge and in Aqua.
  7. As with other cruise lines, people often have luggage.
  8. A Big Box store is a membership warehouse store. There is a large, US-based one, with many international locations that also has a travel agency. Jim mentioned finding the Move Up page being linked from Plan My Cruise. In my experience, it is under Manage Reservation, so you might want to check both. For me, I need toscroll down to the bottom to see the Move up graphic/ link.
  9. We did a back to back on the Connie in May. The first cruise, we were with friends, and ate dinner with them every night. Because I had heard they can sell out, we made sure to book the Veuve Clicquot dinner for the second cruise as soon as the departing passengers were off the ship. We were so excited to do it! The day of the dinner, we were called to say it had been canceled, as not enough people had signed up. In June, we did a Chef's Table dinner on the Azamara Pursuit for half the price of the VC dinner on Celebrity. It did include Veuve Clicquot with one course. That dinner was absolutely phenomenal! We'd do it again in a heartbeat!
  10. @jelayne mentioned in another thread quite some time ago that she goes straight the Martini Bar upon boarding and has a Lycheetini. I tried one for the first time on our first post-shutdown cruise last September. It was good! On our May 3 cruise, I had another, and texted her to let her know i was thinking of her.
  11. This information should be helpful:
  12. Log in and select "Cruise History" under the Captain's Circle section of the My Account menu. it will lead you to a page with your cruise history and the color of your medalliion, which corresponds to your loyalty level. From there, you can get to other pages with Captain's Club information.
  13. We were on for 23 days in May, and I concur. The only complaint would be the awful guy who ran trivia. The ship itself, and the rest of the crew were just lovely.
  14. I have the Maker. I have made stencils with mine for painting and for glass etching. I don’t know about airbrushing. You might consider looking for Cricut groups on the Zuckerberg social media platform. There are many of them, including one for campers and one for doing Cricut projects with supplies from DollarTree. I do mostly vinyl and paper projects, and I’ve barely chipped away at the tip of the iceberg of what the machine can do. I did design my current avatar in the Cricut Design Space software. Best of luck to you!
  15. I've found myself and others going off topic in multiple threads and talking about RVing, especially since we can't cruise now, and RVing is a great way to still travel while being safely distant from others. I wasn't sure where to put this thread, and landed on this 55+ forum, as it feels most appropriate, with so many RVers and full-time RVers in that age range. I'm not a member yet, but PapaFej is. If the mods feel there is a better place for this, I have no objection to it being moved. Anyway, I hope that this can be a place where those of us who love both cruising and RVing can have friendly conversations.
  16. First and foremost: I'd like to stipulate that literally any personal concern expressed on an internet forum dedicated to cruising is a First World Problem. My specific concern here is as First-Worldly as it gets. I apologize for the length of this post, but I'd really appreciate help from those with experience. That said, I've been a saver since I was a young child. Indeed, when the ice cream truck would come around, and all the kids would run into their houses to grab money, I'd pull the plug from my piggy bank, look inside, and 9 of 10 times, close it back up and just wait until the other kids were done with their snacks before we started playing again. All my adult life, I've penny-pinched and saved. Hubby had no savings when we met, but quickly adapted and became a saver/investor. We've maxed out pre-tax contributions since our 20s. We've put money into other investments and savings accounts with every paycheck. Now, Hubby has retired (my own career ended due to family/extended family needs in the 90s). The kids are grown (youngest graduates HS in May). One has already graduated college and started his own career and retirement investments. College expenses for the younger two are covered with what we've saved and invested since they were babies. The one who just turned 21 started her own investment account at 19 and is about to open her first 401(k) now that she's old enough. All that is to say that I am very good at the saving/investing and being frugal mindset. Now that it's almost time to spend that money, I'm having a hard time. I love putting money away. The thought of actually spending it freaks me out, even though this time of our life is exactly what we've been saving it for. It is largely meant for Bucket-List style travel (the pension more than takes care of every day expenses). Thankfully, we pulled a significant chunk from two investments we've had since the 90s and put it into cash last week before the market tanked. That money is still sitting in an account, so I'm okay with it, but when it comes time to pay for next fall's travel, I might freeze. We did pull enough to also cover the taxes on gains, of course. So, wise folks who have gone before us, do any of you have any tips for helping change mindsets? I know full well that the expenses for which we will use this money are exactly why we sacrificed and saved it instead of having the lifestyle our colleagues had the last 30 years. I just can't wrap my brain around the spending mindset. Any advice?
