  1. You got that right. The person I believe was the front desk manager on the koningsdam was woefully uninformed. She told me the 5 star discount could only be used at the pinnacle even after I showed her online that wasn’t true. Even a couple of the front desk personnel knew better.

  3. Yes, exactly. It’s not something I would do because I want club orange, but since they do refund when people cancel the cruise I’m wondering what is non refundable. I wouldn’t fault them if they don’t refund because if people book it just in case they feel like it and then others can’t purchase it, that’s a bit of a difference.

  6. I don’t know that it’s controversial. You like what you like. I wouldn’t take a lido cabana for free because there are too many people around and I want to be outside. I don’t usually find the cabana service to be that great. I never ask them to get me food. I just want my water iced but it rarely is because they are running for food for everyone there, sometimes multiple times a day.
  7. I don’t like community pens either. When I was on the koningsdam I told them I wouldn’t be signing it. It didn’t seem to be an issue on that ship.
  8. I’ve tried maybe a few days before. Usually I need to go to where they take reservations because if you have any other reservations it won’t let you book on navigator. I don’t like to book something just in case. I won’t book it unless I fully intend to go. The person I quoted said it’s rarely full and they never had problems so I’m responding to that. If you book it the second you get on the ship I’m sure it will be fine.
  9. I can’t speak for the refund part but it sounds like you would get it. Yes you should be able to get the highest oceanview available. The cost is $15 per day for cruises over 14 days but if it’s a b2b of 14 days that doesn’t count. I’ve always had to pay immediately for my club orange even before final.

  13. Thanks for posting. It was not there on my cruises on the koningsdam, even while on the ship. Hopefully they will continue to do that.

  15. I seam to remember @Crew News getting a obc when an upgrade wasn’t available before the pandemic but iirc it wasn’t big. Maybe they will clean your jewelry now 😉😛. I wouldn’t hold my breath for much but why not ask. They will not make you sit with others. I have had pleasant chats with nearby tables but that’s as much sharing as I’m interested in.
  16. Amazingly I remembered about posting the entrees. This is from the koningsdam. I assume the Caribbean would be similar but I don’t know. If you are on a longer cruise it probably is not helpful at all. I got this during a random conversation with the club orange hostess at the time.
  17. I've tried to get in many times in the past and it was fully booked for lunch.
  18. I can remember a few things. One was peruvian chicken and I thought it was very good. I think another was duck with cherries. Not my kind of thing. Another was a shrimp dish I believe. I have the list at home but I'm at work right now so I will try to remember to post it when I get home. The one I have is a 7 day rotation.

  20. I've always had to pay for mine immediately. I haven't ever booked under a reduced deposit.
  21. I really wished they'd be consistent with payment of club orange fees. Good to hear you got the money back.
