  1. OK - not sure how that fits into your comment. If they cancelled a few days out, they didn't save any money on the berthing. Do you think they cancelled it months out (far enough to not be charged) and then didn't tell yo until you boarded?
  2. You think they cancelled their berthing months out in order to save the berthing fee and then blamed it on a holiday?
  3. That is the fastest DL speed I have yet seen on Regent....I've seen nothing over 4MBPS with Starlink. Of note is that RCL has DL speeds approaching 60MBPS but coast $20 - $25 a day.
  4. If you don't get a reply here, Regent will tell you about senior staff up to 60 days out.
  5. This is only one of a couple of dozen things they plan to add...
  6. They will be offering a wide range of special opportunities...this is just one that I could access quickly.
  7. Here is an example... We are thrilled to announce a very special partnership with the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team. As the team’s first official Global Cruise Line Partner, Regent and the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team will collaborate to create exclusive experiences, including special shore excursions and Spotlight Voyages, which will immerse F1™ fans and luxury cruisers into the worlds of ultra-luxury cruising and high-performance motor racing. This is an incredible opportunity for you to tap into a new audience of clients looking for once-in-a-lifetime moments with Regent as we launch these exclusive experiences soon.
  8. Agreed. Voyager still has crappy internet provider. Regent not swapping to Starlink until existing service contracts expire later this year.
  9. Maybe they meant to say "DSL speeds in your cabin...".
  10. Given that it appears service is capped at 4mbps that isn't so bad....far better than it used to be.
  11. The GM 2 is a trans-oceanic liner that is almost twice as long and 3x the tonnage. It is built for high speed in trans-oceanic crossings. It would handle seas FAR better than a tiny cruise ship. https://www.cruisehive.com/ocean-liner-vs-cruise-ship/67194
  12. All senior staff works for Regent. The other 97% work for Apollo Management out of Miami.
  13. Currently active on Mariner and Grandeur. I believe the other ships have been wired but the service has not yet been turned on pending completion of existing provider contracts (as per sources at Regent and the provider).
  14. Silversea has a pretty killer offering in the 17 day range...and Polar Class rated hulls. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Endeavour
  15. I've done 6 since COVID and I can see a slight difference in the experience of the crew. Many did not return to the ships after COVID as they cannot be expected to go 2 years without pay. Add in 2 new ships that need staffing and you have some crew who are relatively green. This will sort itself out.
  16. This can happen with any cruise line - especially when you are dealing with countries that might have a.....more laid back attitude. Common with every cruise line. You are lucky you left early as Drake is no joke. I've been across it in a much smaller ship in very bad conditions and most of the (older) guests were in bed for a day as they could not walk. His job is your safety - I would not presume to 2nd guess him or comment on his "attitude'. Usually the GM or the CD will make an announcement regarding these things. All ships make noise in rough seas. I was in a crew member's cabin a couple of years ago and she had about 100 pieces of paper wedged into the ceiling tiles to keep them from creaking. Best staff in the industry! You were in Antarctica and probably had bad/limited LOS with the satellites used for internet. Can't help you here - in 450 nights, I've never had a bad cruise, just a few things that annoyed me and were immediately rectified by the staff.
  17. There are 2 captains (and 2 staff captains) for every ship. They rotate.
  18. I couldn't agree more, my friend.
  19. What demographic has raise this group of 70/80 year old entitled passengers who want to misbehave themselves (get drunk, fight, berate the staff, argue politics, etc.) on board?
  20. Different countries have different rules/laws/etc. and I suspect that Regent would also like to expand their market share a little bit.
  21. What I am saying is that I can see Regent pricing, stripped of the extras, down to what's on that site. I do know that Regent does offer some last minute pricing outside of the US market but what is on the site I looked at is no different than what a normal TA can get. To the best of my knowledge, even though TA's are paid different commissions, they access the same pricing. Some "discounts" are merely specials that you "have to ask about" but any decent TA will get the best pricing offered by their person no matter what.
  22. I am pricing them now and, so far, they are all the same as what Regent offers. I will keep going.
  23. Just so you know...."Sample prices are in U.S. Dollars and are per person, double occupancy, and do not include U.S. government fees, taxes, port expenses or airfare unless otherwise noted".
  24. HAL is a great line...we use them as well. Heck, I have fun on RCL every year too.
