  1. Hi, it is even worse as we learned on our current Enchanted cruise. Good Spirits bar is open from 9:30am until late in the night. But the special Good Spirit drinks are not served in the Good Spirits bar before 5:00pm and you can never order them via the app. And be aware on busy times, and sometimes the not so busy times, it takes some time to get the drinks delivered in the Good Spirits bar. Yesterday it took 45 min. at 8:00pm, when the bar was quite packed to get the drink served.
  2. We are currently on Enchanted just embarked two days before. Service in MDR and cabin steward is ok, but not outstanding across mass-cruise industry. Service in bars and open spaces is below average. Service is quite slow and not very well trained. Some seems not willing to see the customer. Not taking empty cups and plates while serving new stuff. But it is really inconsistent. Some service people are good some bad. I charge it on the post-covid ramp-up. The food s quite good and to order drinks/food to any place works better and quicker than expected. 8 out of 10 times quick delivery. 2 times the app says „delivered“ but it never reached us. But the biggest problem on this cruise is the reservation of deck chairs. I know this is a common cruise industry problem, but really very much noticable on this cruise. The rule is documented. „reserved“ but not used deck chairs will be set free by service people. But this never happend. A rule which is not enforced is no valid rule. The first cruise company which strictly enforces this rule will get a loyal customer willing to pay some extra immediately.
  3. Thx for the info. Seems to be a normal thing with Princess. Amount is so little it doesn‘t really bother. It is just unusual in the german market. Here cruise fares are final and the price includes all taxes and fees. Usually you even don‘t get an info about the included amount of fees/taxes. The right to adjust prices because of significant increased fuel cost is usually in the contract. But this actually never happend to me. In the current energy cost scenario i expect a fuel surcharge much more than tax increase.
  4. Started our cruise yesterday on the Enchanted and noticed a strange charge on my account named „Government Port Tax“ 7.51$ per person. Well, i understand the term tax quite well, but my booked tarif has port fees and taxes included. So i went to the guest service and was told there was an increase in fees/taxes and it is common practice to hand increase/decrease to the customer. Never experienced this in 20+ cruises. Is this standard procedure with Princess? I‘m sure somewhere in the contract fineprint the legal right to do so is expressed. Still was very surprised by this. Did someone encounter this before?
  5. @dog: For my upcoming cruise personalizer did not offer me to book transfer nor allowed this. There was a note that i have to call Princess. Didn‘t understand this as Princess is trying to automate and allow self-service as much as possible.
  6. Claimed shareholder OBC for the first time. I know only one shareholder OBC can be claimed per cabin not per person. But I figured out now, that this OBC is assigned to a person (me). Question: If I want to use it e.g. for specialty dining can I pay this for DW and me from my OBC? I.e. can OBC be shared?
  7. Does Princess provide Ginger Ale and if so cans or fountain? If there are only cans will there be a charge for Drink Package holders?
  8. Hi, and 100% capacity is defined as 2 people per cabin. During holiday season many families travel with kids and use cabins with more than two beds. Thus expect 100%+ utilization. cheers MouseBerry
  9. Hi, we were several times in MSC YC. Last year two cruises. Our experience is that service and food in particular still good, but not on the same level as a few years ago. E.g. the afternoon tea was very good a few years ago and is very questionable now. YC is a very good experience. But if cost is 3 to 4 times of a regular cruise, the value for money is not very good. For the same cost we could get and prefer Oceania. The whole ship is like the YC and the food is much better. Our first Princess cruise will start Aug 5th. We dont expect any YC level of experience, as the cruise is only 30% cost of YC. cheers MouseBerry
  10. Hi, not been on the Enchanted yet, but according to drawings at cruisedeckplans the midship stairs stop at deck 15 Marina. Pooldeck is at deck 16 Lido and cannot be reached via midship stairs. If the plans are correct then one have to use the elevators to reach the pooldeck midships. cheers MouseBerry
  11. Hi, saw on some bar menus of princess cruise ships Angry Orchard cider. Does not mean it is actually available though. Can someone who is currently on the Enchanted or sailed recently if Angry Orchard cider is on the menu in one of the bars and equally important if it is actually available? cheers MouseBerry
  12. Azamara has transformed all casinos on their ships to bars and other facilities. So no casino in Az ships anymore.
  13. According to CDC stats over 1 Mio. people died by Covid or under the influence of Covid. This is 0,33%. I consider this as significant, but I have no stats about other cause of death. For sure after the vaccination/booster activities the rate has dropped significantly. Still not nice. Some people don't die, but have long term problems. For me to take care on the situation is still very relevant.
  14. Hi, same with COVID on our side. DW started to show signs of COVID when we arrived at home on disembarcation day. Antigen test were positive from the day after. For me the whole thing started 3 days later. Well, COVID was for sure on this cruise. We are fully vaccinated, boostered and wearing masks most of the time on board. The only thing that prevents infection is to keep distance to other people, which is impossible on a cruise. And same as joyride the elaboration took 9-10 days. Will this prevent us from going on another cruise this year? No! cheers MouseBerry
  15. Hi, where can one buy the transfer? Looked on the Princess website but there was a note it has to be done via a TA. cheers MouseBerry
  16. Well, a set of personal information is required to be set up. Among them are contact details and here the mobile phone number is a required info to be provided. I use my number for DW as well. I have no idea how one could board the ship without providing the info. Maybe the software is lazy and not enforcing the info which is marked as required. cheers MouseBerry
  17. Hi, my first idea was "am an idot", but I was unable to enter my DW mobile phone number neither into the MedallionClassApp nor into the browser based option in the personal information/contact-method details. The app/browser-dialog allows only to enter the country code (+49) and a 10 digit mobile phone number. My DW number has 11 digits. The international standard for mobile phone numbers allows up to 20 digits in total. Did someone ran into this problem before? What I'm supposed to do? Call Princess? Well I could easily ignore it and enter my phone number as DW one, but reachability and electronic communication is so important these days. cheers MouseBerry
  18. Looks pretty good 👍 Did you get a permission or was it „let‘s try and see“? Does this cruise go around Denmark or does the ship sail thru the North/Baltic sea channel (Nord-Ostsee-Kanal)? Must be a nice video if you pass the channel.

    OBC?

Hi, OBC to my knowledge is never for excursions only. There is only a flag for refundable and non refundable OBC. OBC can be used before embarkation for excursions and apparently as mentioned in this thread for experience packages before embarkation as well, which is good to know as i was not aware of this fact.
  20. Hi, on Pursuit last week we docked at 11am in Cartagena and no brunch was offered. We docked in Lisbon at 1:30pm and brunch was offered.

    OBC?

Hi, with the experience more packages you get some monetary benefit. For that reason i guess it has to be bought with real/fresh money. Had 1000$ OBC on our last cruise. Could not use it all. The last 100$ were dropped. It is a bit disappointing we could not use it for extra tipping. But in special dining you can use it for the extra tip on the receipt. Was thinking to drink the indecent expensive whiskey or congac at the last evening. 25$ a shot, but am not that posh. cheers MouseBerry
  22. Hi, just of the Pursuit. We had 604 passengers and 360+ crew. Never had long waiting time in the main dining room. Service in Windows and Patio was always quite quick. In bars it was not too quick but reasonable. At the pool deck, if most loungers are occupied, service was not really good. Just to few service people on patrol. Mosaic and Livng Room, if full, was as well a bit delayed service. Overall we had a good service experience. Some crew in service need a bit more training, but not that this would be a real problem. cheers MouseBerry

    OBC?

OBC can be used for transfer to the airport at disembarkation, if such is offered. Maybe this is considered an excursion😉
  24. Hi, today we are in Gibraltar. Wonderful weather. Sunny, light wind warm but not too hot. Most excursions were done in the morning/noon. In other words the ship has a lot of people on board this afternoon. And while the staff is amongst the most friendly we ever had the pleasure to cruise with, the performance of the service was not great. Mainly because of there are too few service people and the processes sometimes a bit cumbersome. Not a big deal, but something that draws a light shadow on an otherwise quite good experience. Just an observation of a first time Az cruiser. cheers MouseBerry
  25. Hi, well the charge of tax, actually 10%, didn‘t bother me on this cruise as we have plenty of OBC which we can hardly spend. But we got receipts indcating this tax. And in the EU if a company is charging tax, document the tax charge and eventually not passing the tax to the states financial department, this is a severe illegal move. Az cannot takes this risk. And the tax applies not only while in port, it is eligible in Spain waters which is a much bigger area. So I stay on my position. Take care of and be aware of tax might be applied on cruises in EU area. cheers MouseBerry
