I was really hoping for Quebec! We did the snowbird migration from Quebec City to Fort Lauderdale in 2019. It was amazing.

I actually remembered enough small details to find the review in question. The pictures posted were from Sunflower Cafe, so going to try to convince the family to go there.

Sunflower can be slow, backed up, and loud

I'm also going through the same decision making process for Sat April 20. Looked into Moody but its attractions are pricey and we likely won't be up for much on a travel day.  I like the idea of a hotel that shuttles from IAH and has a good mall/restaurant nearby then uber to port the next day. Hoping someone has a great recommendation!

No hotel shuttles on their own from IAH to the Island . Try Galveston Saltwater Moms for private transfer .

That's too much work for a family- we bring mostly carryons, but still don't feel like rolling them around for 2-3 hours before our room is ready. We haven't had one lost yet and it's nice to get to the room and the bags show up.  We don't use the tags, though- just stapling the paper ones on a few times and a piece of packing tape does the job

Check in around 1:00 and you will not cart bags  around for hours . No tags needed at all.
