  1. When you access Booked Cruises on the Oceania website and go to Manage This Booking, you have a choice of tabs. Select Other Options and then Culinary Classes (not the easiest website to navigate!) You will see a blue button on the right Shop for Culinary Classes. The dates will populate and you can go through them. Not a class for every day. ‘Now if it is a culinary excursion - try Shore excursions. There is a selector button that allows you to filter by Wine and Food Tours.
  2. Lynn it is so interesting that you say that. For our upcoming 39 day Caribbean cruise we have our favourite stateroom - B3, extended balcony, open to the stern. We decided that we would have to be offered a PH to tempt us. Not one of the A cabins would hold even the slightest interest.
  3. Personally I would not choose a concierge stateroom over the non-concierge staterooms of the verandah type, on the basis of what is included. (Unless you need a specific location due to access or seasickness) 1. Better verandahs are available non-concierge. 2. The champagne is not of the quality to merit the extra expense. 3. Tote bag? Not sure but has not been available. 4. Advance choice of specialty restaurants. We have done concierge and non-concierge and have had our choices with no disappointment. We have been able to use the staff member by customer service to change times, add reservations, switch restaurants. That leaves the lounges. We prefer the library, baristas, the computer areas as much more pleasant areas to read, use computers, eat snacks and have superior coffees. Snacks in the lounges were not appetizing to us. An inboard, non windowed room does not appeal to us. Just our opinion.
  4. Interesting Pinot. we are going to sail on Riviera. ‘We just booked our specialties for 2 segments, full ship. We are steerage (last choice 45 days out) and we were able to book first night in any time slot for Polo or later for any one of the restaurants. Our choice was a two top for all our bookings and had no problem getting them, admittedly some of them were later times. I agree with you. If you want specialty first night it may be better to prebook.
  5. No this is an extensive refit. Check it out: https://www.travelweekly.com/Cruise-Travel/Oceania-Riviera-and-Marina-refurbishment
  6. We buy our wine from a large outlet in the cruise port (Miami for us) and they are pleased to pack it in a box for you. I bring some extra twine to bind the box. I make a tag and paste it on the box - name, Cruise Line, Ship, Stateroom number. This is dropped off with our luggage at the port and it shows up undamaged with our luggage at our stateroom. ‘Forget about that 6 bottle thing - we always bring a dozen bottles and never a problem. We augment it with wines from the various places the ship visited (we have 2 wine bags, one for 2 bottles and one for 4. Bottles) . This is particularly great for European ports, not so much for Caribbean)
  7. We booked in CAD as there was an advantage at the time. That sticks you in CAD until you board when you can switch to USD. Obviously they want to avoid someone going back and forth according to the current rates.
  8. One of my complaints as we have 2 booking numbers. One of them we were given the 250US. On the other they split it into two $100 US cause it was more advantageous to them . Our TA was so disgusted she made up the difference from her agency saying she would get it back from Oceania another way.
  9. Shows up in several other places in the Booking and is listed as “Complimentary Shipboard Credit”. This is our first time for shareholder credit so don’t know if that is the typical description.
  10. When I click on My Account. > next cruise comes up and it shows right beside the Booking Number as Total Shipboard Credits It may show up elsewhere but I didn’t look elsewhere. I will try to grab a screenshot.
  11. Within the past 2 months I had my shareholder credit appear on my booked cruise on the Oceania website and I have used it subsequently for La Reserve reservations. ‘Cruise December - January 2022
  12. Depends. Not a big fan of butt tats or tramp stamps showing at dinner.
  13. Regardless of your personal biases, it is very difficult to make a sane argument for NOT following Oceania’s clearly stated Dress Policy. ‘All the rest is “wah wah wah wah, blah blah blah”.
  14. Doesn’t that depend on the card holder? Our cheap one from the Dollar Store seals the opening once you put the clip on the plastic case.
  15. Read from post 76 on. We know what it says in the written material but people are trying to figure why (thusfar) Ember and Red Ginger are not available.
  16. There is a Craps table but with the rise of non-Vegas casinos many places have adopted some pretty wonky rules. Good to see in another post tha they use pretty much Vegas rules. Craps is the best odds in the Casino if you bet it properly.
  17. Interesting. I did not even know travellers cheques were still in existence. I used to buy them all the time as their rate CAD to USD was better than the bank cash rate.
  18. 1. What is the Craps table level and limit? Does it change maybe by time of day? Eg. $5, $15, $25?) 2. Is the vig for buy and lay bets paid at the time of the bet or upon the win? 3. What are the accepted odds? 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x ? 4. Is it possible to deposit cash and then access it at the table or at the cage? I don’t wish to join their Casinos At Sea program where they have access to my home bank account. 5. Is there someone at the casino on embarkation day to answer questions (Not to play until international waters - I get that) 6. Any funky cruise rules? Anyone who can answer any of these questions, I appreciate your help.
  19. As long as you have had a recent pedi, keep your nail polish current and complete and have washed your feet in the last week. A few discreet sequins or small flowers on the sandals help to make them looking classy.
  20. My lanyard is not from Etsy or Coach but from Dollar General - does this make me a bad person?
  21. Oceania’s dress code is easily found and Oceania publishes it -, “Country Club Casual”. If anyone is so sheltered to not know what that means perhaps this is the wrong cruise line. Google will answer what it means. Videos will show pictures. I agree with pinotlover - anyone who posts this thread is trolling and wants reactions. I find it very fertile with straight lines to try to attach humour to. It is an oasis when nothing new is on CC. No one needs information. No one will change their minds. Vent on.
