  1. 16 days! Can’t wait to chill for a week. 😃
  2. Tonight I grabbed some of the first odds and ends. Tile trackers, passport, luggage tag sleeve, lock for carry on…I’ll do it mostly the weekend before as work is pretty much bonkers right now. I don’t need my shorts in IL.😀 PM
  3. He is on Caribbean P in about 3 weeks according to my app. Not a huge Elvis person either, but I’ll give it a chance. PM
  4. I have a 10 day cruise on CCL out of NYC and I can confirm they only charge for 9 days of the drink package when you put it in your cart. PM
  5. I got e-mail last night for CB Dec 3rd that said I was outbid (Reserve mini to Suites). I could probably afford it but the perks weren't worth the increase in cost for me. PM
  6. Yay! I loved being able to watch those before bed on my first Princess cruise. I just watched the first episode (with Suzanne Somers, may she rest in peace) with my 10 year old daughter and she loved it. Enjoy! PM
  7. Caribbean Princess Dec 3, only 43 days to go!
  8. Hi everyone, I'm (F) cruising solo on Princess and porting in Cozumel for the second time. I would really like to see the Museum in San Miguel, and walk around the town a little bit. The last time I was there I did a taco tasting tour by bicycle from International Pier to San Miguel that was cut short due to heavy rain and thunder. I'd love to do something like that again, but most of Princess' tours involve a few hours of beach or snorkeling, and I don't really enjoy that. I have a couple of questions: For a taxi: would I be alone or would I get in a van with others going to San Miguel? To return, where is a good place to pick up a taxi in San Miguel? (I am not adverse to walking either- I'm active and do 6-7 mile walks regularly.) Thanks, PM
  9. Kitten heels, I think. Wore them a lot in the 80’s. 🙂
  10. Well, I just bought a kindle for my next cruises...this is good to know. The last couple of cruises I was using the app on my phone. PM
  11. I booked premier since I wanted one device on the wifi 100% of the time. It was a no brainer - $170 for the wifi upgrade or $140 for the package upgrade since my fare was Plus already. I saw that the specialty restaurants were filling up so I just pulled the trigger. Cruising solo, I can see using several of the benefits like the fitness classes, the theatre seating, and the better wines (and rum 🍹). The desserts don't appeal at all... PM
  12. Love that one! Also "Say Hey (I Love You)" is great for cruising. I like "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" by Stevie Wonder. Friends of ours have recently exposed us to Yacht Rock, the streaming services seem to all have a station, and Christopher Cross fits the category. I will see how it works to stream that on my upcoming cruise. PM
  13. Maybe someone onboard or soon to be can comment? I was curious as I will have the premier package and started looking into it. It didn't seem encouraging. PM
  14. I'm on in December, and I noticed the other day that Steamers and Planks were no longer on the Princess' website deck plans. It doesn't look promising. PM
  15. Quick question - if I can get a reservation, are the Value Trips rates pre-pay? Thanks, PM
  16. Hi Everyone, DD (10 currently) picked this cruise for us! With DH there will be three of us. This will be our first time on Carnival, and we are looking forward to it! PM
  17. My first solo cruise was on Princess (see below) when occupancies were low and I was able to snag a suite at a great price. It was quieter then, but I'm willing to deal with a bit more activity, so I'm back on CB in December, in a Reserve Mini. I look forward to the solitude and not having to think about where to get meals. I didn't go to the solo meet ups, just hung out. It was great! When we travel as a family, I do most of the planning work (not that I mind) so it is nice to just have to fend for myself. PM
  18. Thank you! That looks nice and roomy. We'll (3 of us) be in 9205 (forward angled) which will be a bit different, but I'm not concerned. PM
  19. Great review! I’m curious about the Ocean Suite you mentioned. Could you please post a still or two? We have one booked for 2024. Thanks! PM
  20. For French beer - if available try the Brasserie du Mont-Blanc beers - they've won a bunch of awards. The La Rousse (Red) and the La Blanche (wheat) are great. La Vert (Génépi) is an acquired taste. PM
  21. Enjoying your review! But it is making me a little sad, since we spent over 12 years living and working in France/Switzerland. Seeing the Pelforth especially - our favorite French beer! PM
  22. Not on Carnival, I'm a newbie....but we got 2 of 4 bags at our stateroom on NCL last summer. I had put a Tile in one and not another (my MIL's), so could ping one (it rang and I found it down the hall). My MIL's I found a few doors down from there. We were lucky! PM
  23. I liked the snacks up on the YC pool deck on Mera that appeared at 4pm, a good chance to get some veggies. 🙂 PM
  24. I don't have a cruise booked (plan to in May) and I'm already thinking about how to pack better next time, e.g. no cotton T's in the Caribbean heat and humidity. Nine months isn't too early to get a hotel. I reserve early and recheck periodically. PM😀
