  1. Thanks for the pictures, but I would rather have a stop at an island with real people, real culture and real local restaurants and local food...not an Americanized fake town or island. Years ago, probably close to 40, on an NCL cruise, we stopped at an NCL "island". It was so boring. Just another beach. A wasted day. Maybe coming from SE Florida, growing up and going to the beach at least twice a week or more, all this beach stuff is old news. Totally understand for those without that history or advantage this option would be attractive, but wouldn't want your cruise dollars spent on a REAL island with real locals, etc.?
  2. I've not read through all the prior comments, but we can only hope this new direction doesn't lead to bumper cars and roller coasters....... Seems like Celebrity didn't study their demographics too well. Do we really need a "fun" manmade island to frolic on? Not in my opinion.
  3. Hopefully, the Chef's Table we have booked will happen. Yes, I'm referring to the Chef's Table, not the Market Experience (which we have done in Naples/Sorrento/Positano...and it was magnificent, but that's another story....). 🙂
  4. This is our first Chef's Table, and according to the excursion website, it is sold out. How many guests are usually on hand?
  5. hmmm.....the Silhouette is an S class ship, and I don't believe there are any Infinite Verandas.
  6. Thanks for the followup! I did read something about receiving confirmation in our cabin on embarkation day. We're in Aqua, so no butler to ask. But I will ask the maitre d' in Blu if nothing in our cabin.
  7. We booked the Chef's Table for our upcoming Alaska cruise, and the reservation shows the event being held on Day 1 at noon. Obviously, that must be just a date and time merely intended to hold the booking. When did you find out when the event would actually take place? Was there something in your cabin when you checked in?
  8. Thank you! We’re going for sure!
  9. On a completely different note....we are on our second Portuguese Water Dog. We named our current girl Lady of Alfama, Alfie for short, after the Alfama neighborhood. Enjoy Fado while you are there!
  10. Actually reached Azamara via phone this morning! Spa passes are available onboard. No idea of price, but at least a pass can be purchased. Also asked about our Loyalty points (all are missing). Told to check back early July.
  11. Hoping a pass can be purchased. Not in a suite.
  12. Any updates from recent cruisers regarding use of the steam, sauna, and other spa access? Are passes being sold? Is access included in any cabin category?
  13. Where might I find a detailed description of a pre cruise land package, specifically Victoria Falls and Chobe? The old website had a two or three page explanation with details of meals, hotels, activities, etc. Can’t seem to find it now. Thanks for any help offered.
  14. No, Newark. See you on the roll call! 😉
  15. Thank you all! Great feedback! I’ll share with DH!
  16. We have a first time Azamara cruise scheduled for January 2024 to South Africa on the Pursuit, and are considering canceling. We also have a pre cruise land safari package scheduled as well. Recently, on a Celebrity cruise, DH was talking with two different sets of folks on differing occasions who recently cruised on Azamara and both had lots of negative remarks about all sorts of experiences, from food to ship conditions, service, and excursions. Please share thoughts on why we should NOT cancel. Thanks in advance.
  17. Yes, I did, a month or so ago. But still had to submit a form for help. Now, thankfully, I can see our booking and excursions. However, the emails from the CEO have never arrived.
  18. At least some of you are receiving emails! Nothing coming in on our end and we have an African land and sea package set up for later this year. We’re seriously considering canceling.
  19. We also have a post-cruise Celebrity Land Tour and within the itinerary description for the last day in Fairbanks, it does say (see below) that the Tour Director will provide transfers to the airport as part of the tour. I do have a question about routine meals, are they all included? I saw mention of two meals "on our own". So, should we assume all others are included? Fly Out- Fairbanks: Your Tour Director will see that you are transferred to the Fairbanks airport for your flight home. * Tours and activities as described, other than optional activities and meals, are included in your Cruisetour vacation. Tour arrival times are tentative and are subject to change. All properties are subject to change for properties of a similar quality.
  20. Hopefully someone can answer this question. (I do have an email out to our TA, but meanwhile.) We are booked on a Celebrity Alaska Land Tour 8A this August. I see mention of only two times within the itinerary description of the tour of a "meal on our own". Does that mean that all other meals, B, L and D, are included and provided during the tour?
  21. Another cool bar is the Southport Raw Bar. It’s all the way at the west end of the channel that Boatyard sits on. It’s a Lauderdale classic joint. Nothing fancy, but a fun historical locale, If you have no dinner plans, check it out. http://www.southportrawbar.com/index.html
