  1. I am sorry for your loss but glad that you’ve gotten the information you need. My only thought is that tulips may not be available on the ship. I’d feel pretty confident that they always have roses. I have no idea if you can make a specific request for a type of flowers, but if tulips a very important to you it might be worth trying to order flowers ahead of time.
  2. I think most people wonder why the smoking area is located in the path of the jogging track. It seems like an odd choice on Princess’ part.
  3. Wow, I’m surprised they were allowing smoking in cabins that late! Google tells me they didn’t ban smoking in all cabins and balconies until 2012.
  4. Change is definitely hard. If it doesn’t work for you, you’re right, you can go elsewhere. Not all brands use apps for requesting shareholder benefits.
  5. I don’t think it’s much different to upload it to the app yourself than to email it and ask them to do that for you. If yiu really aren’t willing to use the app then maybe you’re right in saying this isn’t for you.
  6. Those doors do not make the air conditioner or heat turn on
  7. I’d be concerned about any cold weather cruise: Alaska, Antarctica, Greenland, Norway and the Baltics etc. Alaska weather varies a lot, but I think highs are almost always above 50 in any location that has cruises during the cruising season. Mornings can certainly be colder than that though. Around the glaciers, especially on a windy day, it can be way too cold for me to consider keeping a window open for more than a few minutes.
  8. A lot of people need a room that’s dark in order to sleep. I don’t necessarily want to get up at sunrise, especially when it’s very early. I’m Alaska, Norway etc it can be 4:00.
  9. I don’t understand. Are you saying you never lowered the window? That’s the problem with IV cabins for many. There’s no way to “shut the door” and have the window down.
  10. With a standard balcony you can shut the door and still have heat or air conditioning while you use the balcony. That’s not an option with IV cabins.
  11. Yes, if it was included when you booked, you will not be charged. Just got off a cruise where we were cancelled then lifted and shifted from 2020 (also 2021, 2022, and 2023). I can’t believe we finally made it.
  12. To be fair, Princess charges a one time $15 activation fee to use their app to order food or drinks. Both fees are waived if the passenger has the Plus or Premier package.
  13. We just had a cloth bag in a regular balcony on the Solstice
  14. I seem to be the only person who’s concerned about them on cold weather cruises, I know the air conditioning turns off when the window is open but want to know if the heat still works. I think that would be a huge negative in Antarctica or Alaska.
  15. The problem was more likely a server or bartender asking for and mishearing a cabin number rather than using the medallion. I get just no more charges in error with the medallion as with key cards. If it happens, the “crew chat” feature in the Princess app is another great advantage, there’s no need to visit guest services for little things like that. You can just send a message.
  16. I also love the medallions. One of my favorite advantages of wearing it on a wristband is to keep it with me during the day when I’m swimming or working out. For me, they are a huge improvement over key cards.
  17. I tried a couple of cruises on Royal in the last year and a half and wasn’t impressed enough to book again. That said, if it were the only opportunity to get the itinerary I wanted, I wouldn’t rule them out. I’d take look at Princess if they offer what you want though even if you don’t get any reciprocal benefits. I’d always been loyal to Celebrity but we tried them for the first time for a Norway and Iceland itinerary in 2019 and really enjoyed it. So much so that we go back and forth between Celebrity and Princess now. They seem to offer a lot of longer, more interesting itineraries and offer a very similar experience to Celebrity.
  18. I haven’t seen it on any Princess ship that allowed indoor smoking either. I think the agent is reading from an outdated FAQ sheet.
  19. I’ve had it often too and it never looked like that. I can’t imagine anything more unappetizing!
  20. There was a really good one over Labor Day weekend last year and another the week before Christmas.
  21. I wouldn’t think of Asia for a beach cruise either, but the original poster did say that’s what they are interested in, so their proposed itinerary might be a good fit.
  22. I agree that this is a fabulous itinerary! However, as I finish up a back to back in a few days, I’m not sure it fits with the desire for beaches. Typical weather for at least half the itinerary might be too cold. I’d have to weigh that against the opportunity to visit so many wonderful places. If beaches are a priority, maybe not the best choice, but I’m with those who wouldn’t travel that far for day trips to beaches even though I love beaches.
  23. You don’t have to do that. You can just give them a copy of your statement with every thing but your name and ownership of the CCL shares blacked out
  24. My understanding is that the credit process is still processed by Stockperks in the same way that upgrade bids are processed through a third party. I could certainly be misinformed though
