  1. Iโ€™m curious, does this Night 9 menu only show up on the Celebrity app once youโ€™re on board? Our Edge cruise is 5 weeks away and it still is saying Luminae is closed on nights 8-10? Thanks for the great review. Very helpful.
  2. I could tell from your photos and description why Eden was your favourite. But why was Fine Cut your least favourite? You didnโ€™t talk about it in your review.
  3. That is the question being posed. Celebrity has not made any cuts to breakfast or lunch service in their buffet, only dinner. OP wanted to know if Royal has done the same.
  4. There are pros/cons to each. Harmony definitely has the better entertainment... although both have a good ice show and aqua show, the main theatre shows on Wonder are very amateurish compared to Harmony. Wonder has some better restaurant layouts, e.g. the Windjammer is spaced out on two sides with views into the Boardwalk area and easier to find seats and the Park Cafe also has more seating area. Wonder has El Loco Fresh as a free restaurant on the pool deck, which is much better than Mini-Bites on Harmony. Although the pools on Wonder are smaller, they make better use of the space for seating around the pools and there is also tiered seating with lounge chairs with cushions overlooking the pools. However, Wonder has the enclosed Solarium, which is very hot and humid, compared to the open air concept on Harmony. If Harmony is the lower cost, then that's probably the better bet, as you'll have extra money to spend on other things (specialty restaurants for example) on your vacation.
  5. We get it, for the 100th time... you hate Tilapia. Geesh!
  6. I'm on a 10 day cruise in Feb on the Edge and have the same problem. After night 7, both MDR and Luminae show Venue Closed, even though they're not?
  7. Given the recent OVC discussions on here, there should have been some ominous foreshadowing music accompanying this post. If the current reviews are correct, it would appear Royal may be now winning the buffet battle.
  8. Yes, they are available to anyone and are unique to Wonder. I used them several times on a September cruise and was not in a suite. Couldn't figure out why Royal sprung for the cushions on generic pool loungers? They're very nice and less crowded than other chairs, although they only face one direction in terms of the sun.
  9. Those in pool loungers are hard as a rock and quite useless for sitting on for any length of time. I only saw people using them to snap a quick photo on and that was it. However, the tiered stadium loungers with the padded cushions are very nice... I'm surprised Royal isn't charging a premium to use those ๐Ÿ˜
  10. So, if I've got this straight, old t-shirts, faded blue jeans and sandals are perfectly acceptable, but still absolutely no shorts, even of the designer (Tommy Bahamas or Lacoste) variety? Good to see that Celebrity is determined to maintain that "upscale luxury" dining atmosphere in their MDR's.
  11. Excuse me, but why are men the only ones responsible for upholding some anachronistic dress code? I see lots of women wearing mini skirts or less showing up for dinner looking like streetwalkers and thatโ€™s somehow acceptable? But yes, by all means, letโ€™s enforce the men wearing long pants because their bare calves might offend some people.
  12. Well maybe something positive will come out of all this after allโ€ฆ Celebrity will finally have to relax their โ€œno shortsโ€ in the MDR rule, since there will no longer be a suitable casual alternative dinner venue.
  13. Totally agree. Iโ€™ve been reviewing the Luminae menu for an upcoming 10 day cruise on Edge in February and I can tell there are 4-5 nights when I see nothing appealing at Luminae for dinner. Iโ€™ve already booked reservations in one each of the MDRโ€™s on those nights as a backup. Itโ€™s a shame that Iโ€™m paying suite prices and not getting the entire experience, but itโ€™s better than being disappointed by not liking a meal.
  14. Was on the Wonder in September out of Barcelona. Some days the temperature was in the 90's and it felt like there was hardly any AC being pumped into the Solarium at all. I saw those windows and thought they could provide a breeze when the ship was moving, but the crew never opened them once during the week. Unless you love hot temperatures, unfortunately this is not the place to relax on the ship.
  15. Following along. Will be on this same itinerary in February and first time on Edge class and in the Retreat. Interested in your impressions with all the discussions about recent cutbacks.
  16. I was on Wonder in September of this year and had a good time. I agree with you about missing Royal's older Broadway shows. Although I didn't write a review of my cruise, I did summarize what I thought were pros/cons regarding Wonder compared to the other 4 Oasis ships I've been on. See link below:
  17. September in the Mediterranean, not so much. Maybe they've decided to crank up the AC since moving to the Caribbean?
  18. Not unless they're trying to grow some geraniums while on board. Otherwise, the Wonder solarium is too hot and humid with no fresh air. At best, I would put it at #4 slightly above Harmony (and yes, I've been on all five Oasis ships).
  19. Absolutely not the Wonder unless you like sitting inside a greenhouse.. the temperature was always kept way too hot when I was on it. Harmony also wasn't great because the pool was removed for some strange reason. You have seen the best with the Symphony.
  20. As they should be. I was on Wonder in September and wore shorts each night in the MDR except on formal night, where I wore jeans to "dress up", but it wasn't really necessary, based on what others were wearing. I'm very glad to see that Royal has relaxed their dress code... you're on vacation and should be able to dress how you want (within reason). Now, over on the Celebrity forum, they will run you off the ship with pitch forks for even suggesting wearing shorts to dinner. ๐Ÿ˜„
  21. That was one of the few things I didn't like about Wonder. It always felt warm and stuffy in the Solarium, compared to the pool deck, where there is always a breeze when the ship is moving. Much prefer the open air Solarium design on the older Oasis ships.
  22. Note to self. Never book a cruise over Thanksgiving.
  23. The price of the soda package is already outrageous compared to what it costs RCI. At least, the old style tumbler was a decent cup in terms of keeping the drink cold when you were at the pool. That's what I received as late as September this year on Wonder. If they are going to cheap out now on providing even those, might be time to re-think that soda package.
  24. Two people posted photos of the dress code signs on here. Who goes on vacation and does that? Oh right, CC readers who are more interested in what rules people are following or not. Yes I like RCI, for the very reason they have relaxed their dress code so that no one is made to feel uncomfortable in their wardrobe choices. I have two cruises booked with Celebrity in the next year and worry that wonโ€™t be the case.
  25. Not at all. Just proving my point about how anyone new to Celebrity is a nervous wreck about what they should be wearing on their first cruise after reading this forum. No other cruise line topic on CC seems to have as many fashion police comments as Celebrity.
