  1. That's why most experienced cruisers recommend doing the parks before the cruise. A chance to recover. I have two different friends with you on the cruise, Watch out for an elderly gentleman with longish red-dyed hair and bushy red beard who is quite the character. He goes by King Fergus 😁
  2. The Palo brunch is the same as on the other ships. Not sure how long ago you were on the Dream, but the brunch now is not buffet style. You have a choice of two different antipasti, meat (sliced prosciutto, sliced coppa, sliced bresaola, salame gentile, marinated cerignola olives, roasted garlic, caciotta a tartufo, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and sweet pepperdew) or fish (Jonah crab claw, lemon-marinated shrimp, marinated green lip mussels, spiced ahi tuna, gravlax served with Meyer lemon, saffron aioli, dill honey mustard, and cocktail sauce). The entree choices are pretty much the same as your might remember. The adult pool is indeed the back of the ship. I've been on all five ships, and like many who have cruised other Disney ships, we were very disappointed by the adult pool. There is no shade in the area and the infinity pool is much smaller than the other quiet cove pools on the Dream class and Magic class ships.
  3. Is that next year's WBTA? We'll be on that too! Looking forward to visiting Southampton. Haven't been there in 20 years. Love visiting the ships.
  4. So why are you here, other than to trash Disney. You don't want to sail them any more? Your choice. But don't insult others for making a different choice.
  5. You are not your friend. You have different experiences and expectations. Since you've been on Disney cruises, trust your own experiences and leave it to that.
  6. Are you sure this is correct?. We're doing a B2B on another cruise line from NYC to San Juan in November.
  7. They dropped the buffet after Covid and this appears to be the new normal. Now they bring you an antipasti appetizer of either seafood or Italian meats selections prior to your entrée(s).
  8. We were in the same boat (pun intended) as you, although 10 years older. We cruised Harmony of the Seas for a first time on RCI this February. Before that, we cruised mostly Disney Cruise Line, so I didn't know what to expect moving up to such a large ship. We really enjoyed it. The stage shows were as good as DCL and the variety of shows was really nice. We did them all. We even appreciated the more adult comedy show . Even though our cruise mates preferred the standard dining, I like the option of any time dining (although, I noticed long lines coming out of dinner, so maybe somebody more experienced in that area can address that). I think my only complaint about the ship was that as big as it was, many of the venues like Dazzles and the Schooner Bar were too crowded and finding a seat for the more popular shows was difficult. I noticed you mentioned Radiance. We're cruising her next summer and really looking forward to it.
  9. Sailing out of NY is expensive for the cruise line. That's why Disney tends to alternate years. They may be back in 2025.
  10. That was one disappointment when we cruised in February. I wanted a sweet treat after one of the shows and found that even the soft serve closed early. The only place I found any kind of snack late at night was Café Promenade and that was a small selection of cookies and desserts.
  11. Boys can dress up as Princes or Pirates.
  12. If by separate facilities, you mean locker rooms, yes there are men's and women's locker rooms. Classes and gym use are open to all. And there are free weights as well as machines.
  13. Sailing out of NY is expensive, so they tend to alternate years.
  14. Same here. When I received the email yesterday, I wasn't sure if that was something new or something I missed when booking. Nice surprise indeed.
  15. You're daughter is like my wife. She won't eat meat out, but will eat fish, just not shellfish. She lives on salmon when we eat out. This could be a huge problem for us.
  16. I found this discussion by searching the forum. Where can the coffee card be used on Harmony?
  17. TBH, I don't know since we've never gone to it. You'll always find us at Serenity Bay, since we don't cruise with children. I found this description: "At Monstro’s Point, the whole family, even your littlest ones, will enjoy digging through the sand in search of whale teeth and other plaster “fossils” (which you can keep). Check the Navigator for times."
  18. this is correct. There is no OBC for being a stockholder or Disney+ subscriber.
  19. We don't have experience traveling with a toddler, although that's a topic we have to educate ourselves on as well, since we hope to take our grandchildren on a cruise soon, but Castaway Cay is a beautiful island with lots of activities for all ages. And the lunch at Cookies is great. There is an expansive family beach, Scuttles Cove is a children's play area and Monstro Point is a dig site. Shuttles take you back and first to the ship, which docks right at the island.
  20. We did a TA in 2018 and paid $4500 for two adults in a category 7A, so I would say $6K for 4 is a good deal. We were lucky, we had a very smooth sailing. It was one of best cruises ever, along with a WBPC and Hawaii this past spring. There is no extra charge for meet and greets, with the exception, as previously mentioned, the Princess Tea. There are two meet and greets (Princess Gathering and Frozen) you have to sign up for beforehand, but again, no extra charge. Fear not, the longer cruise doesn't make a difference in getting the full Disney experience. As a matter of fact, it's better, because there are some activities not available on shorter cruises, such as a character breakfast and depending on the time of year, other special events in addition to the pirate night, such as Halloween on the High Seas or Marvel at Sea. And, btw, less kids is a good thing, especially for us, since we're adults sailing without kids. That's why we like the longer cruises. On our TA, we had 122 children on the Magic.
  21. As far as decks go, some people like to avoid deck 10 since it's under the pool deck. I've been on deck 8 on the Magic, which has the same position, and really didn't find it an issue. On the Dream and Fantasy, we love the aft staterooms, since they have the oversized balconies. The vibration is really only an issue when docking. As far as balconies go, we won't sail without one. But you'll get different opinions. Some people say that you don't spend much time in your stateroom, but since you're traveling with a toddler, I can see you spending some time in you room for nap time. We're in the sailing without kids category, and we spend enough time in our room to get time to enjoy the balcony. We love ordering room service and eating out there. In the evening, when we go back to the room, we'll sit out there and read a while before turning in. So, it really comes down to your budget, and your needs. When we've sailed with our adult children, we've taken an inside stateroom for them (I know, we're terrible parents 😄) and would get them extra KTTW cards so that they could come into our room.
  22. I wasn't trying to be snarky. It makes a a difference to the meaning of the sentence.
