  1. We sailed on Anthem last week with the new signs on the loungers. IMO, it helped. I did Not notice the usual large amount of chair hogs in the morning hours. I'm sure there were some but nothing like my previous sailing in December.
  2. I was, also, on this sailing with my DH, Son and DiL. Everyone had a great time with perfect weather and calm seas. Cabin cleaning still offered twice a day but we opted to just have done once in the evening while at dinner. Worked great for us. Love the omelet stations in WJ. Had a great dinner at Chops and a good lunch at Jamie's, except for our forgetful waiter. Love the lamb pita with Greek salad served in MDR lunch on day 2. We had no problems with new dinner menus in MDR. Although I do miss the apple blossom. French onion soup and escargot, our family favorites, were available several nights. Bartender Rajesh (Raj) in schooner bar is a great guy. We were happy to see him again. Had a blast at Quest and Majority rules game show. Did not care for the cover band but no biggy for us. Overall we had an Excellent cruise. Always enjoy Anthem.
  3. Congratulations💖 so happy that you met your family and everyone is welcoming you with open arms. I'm sure it is overwhelming for all but also a very happy time for all. Enjoy😃
  4. You should be able to switch cabin type and pay the difference. I have done it within 30days of a sailing in the past.
  5. Yes, our sailing had the signs and I do feel like they worked. I did not notice the usual early morning of reserving loungers at pool deck. Not sure about solarium as we usually do not go there.
  6. RE: Activities and Entertainment Going on the cruise with two 20 somethings is exhausted. We were constantly doing some type of activity during the day. We played pickle ball for a bit, volleyball, and water volleyball. We all went to Quest and had a great time. Chris and Donna were in total disbelief when grown adults started removing bras, pants and sharing whatever items were needed for a particular round. We never laughed so hard. Unfortunately our team captain had slipped while doing the moonwalk and dislocated his knee (his Patella). I saw him the next morning at pool deck and he said it was popped back into place (which was very painful) and was wearing a brace and felt much better. We enjoyed the game show Majority Rules and Love and Marriage as well. I cannot remember who the cover band was this trip but we did not enjoy them as on other sailings of Anthem. Re: CREW - we were able to have room cleaning twice a day but had opted for once a day in the evening only. She was thrilled to hear that. There were only 2 crew members that we had issues with and they both seemed fairly new and hopefully can get their groove on. One was the waiter at Jaimes (went for lunch on Saturday). He was very forgetful (forgot to bring our meat plank, forgot our garlic prawn appetizers, never brought us water and Chris had to ask 3 times for a soda, also a long wait for our coffee when it wasn't all that busy. Second was a new bartender in the Casino. She made Horrible drinks and kept insisting everyone have a water with their cocktail. She constantly told everyone how she was a single mother and how hard it is to be a single mother. She seemed like she wanted to just talk to everyone and not actually make drinks. But we did find an amazing Cocktail Waiter (Bernie) who made excellent drinks and made sure we had a cocktail in hand whenever we wanted one so we didn't have to leave our seat at the slot machines. Yes, I did have a Snack Shack Crispy Chicken sandwich and made sure it was cooked at every bite. It was Perfect! So is their funnel cake. Overall, it was a wonderful cruise with Chris and Donna. They are definitely hooked on cruising and we are talking about an European and/or Med cruise for summer of 2024. Definitely going to bed early tonight to get up at 5:30 am to go to work. The business owner is in the office for the next 2 weeks and says he has lots of projects he wants me to help him with and for me to plan on staying late at least one or two nights. As well as for all of us to go out for dinner and drinks while he is in town. Otherwise, Everyone else was awesome!!!
  7. I thought I would recap our cruise on Anthem this past week with a 7-night itinerary to PC, Nassau and CocoCay. We had great weather with smooth seas the whole trip. Re: FOOD We ate dinner in the MDR every night except for one night in Chops. We enjoyed their new menus. Some of our favorites escargot and french onion were offered several times. There was only night meal where my pasta arrived luke warm and I cannot blame that on the waiters. It was the night their service was interrupted so they could do a little entertainment. They actually started a congo line in the MDR. On Lobster night Eric and Chris ordered 2 lobsters and I ordered the chops filet with my lobster. The waiter first told me he could not bring out the filet at the same time as the lobster which is odd but is their new policy, in the end he did end up bringing me the lobster plater first then 2 minutes later brought my filet with bake potato. Our dinner at Chops was perfect. All our meals were cooked to perfection. Love their shrimp cocktail. The only thing we avoid in Chops is their lobster bisque. Not sure how they make it but it is not the type of lobster bisque we are used to have at other restaurants. We enjoyed breakfast 2 or 3 times in MDR as this is Eric's preference. I personally prefer WJ for breakfast and lunch. We did have lunch in MDR on day 2 as I love their Lamb Pita with Greek salad.
  8. We arrived home by 11 am after a nice breakfast in MDR and easy disembarkment. @Jimboreserving our Uber ride from Port to Avis worked great. We finished breakfast around 830 and while walking off the ship to terminal for our luggage received notice our driver was already outside for us at 8:42 and would wait for us till 9 am our reserved time. We were at her vehicle by 8:50. Perfect!! Unpacked and doing laundry...off to the food store next. Cats were all thrilled to see us, no one snubbed us this time😃
  9. In Bayonne you may go to the suite check in to the far left when entering the terminal after security.
  10. Not rccls fault. They are at the mercy of the government agency performing a spot inspection. And Yes, that agency has the right to hold up boarding until they complete their inspection. To the OP, we do receive texts from Royal on occassion. We all received them the day before our sailing last weekend. We are on Anthem right now. Be thankful you received notice ahead of showing up at 10 am
  11. Something new arrived in our cabin after dinner tonight. 3 questions...cabin number, name and is anyone experiencing gastrointestinal issues. Maybe Norovirus is onboard, have not heard anyone mention an issue.
  12. Yes, it was a slot machine with clowns racing, etc. So far his total winnings are over $6,000. No luck for me I'm in the hole a couple hundred. No, we didn't pick freebie yet. I'm looking at either a 12 night southern Caribbean or a 10 night fall canada sailing. Will study both of our lists when we get home. But free cocktails is always nice perk. I have to check with work when I can take off since we have our shore house plans and other cruises already booked for the year.
  13. John, whatever may come please know we are all here for you. You have such a loving family that will always support. Sending big hugs and prayers for favorable test results ((((((❤️))))) Remember always Drink lots of water😁
  14. Thank you Lenny. He is having an amazing Birthday. Great day, great dinner with our family, great night in casino...just won over $3500..and we are all in 270 for Quest to start soon😃
