  1. I would love to have beautiful birds like that in my yard. I have never heard of a tamarillo and just looked it up - sounds yummy.
  2. Very good advice. I forgot to mention that I do not allow anyone into my home. I go outside to my driveway to meet them.
  3. Sounds like me and Southern Comfort that a girlfriend and I got drunk on at the tender age of 16. We drank on a field near a school playground, which of course we had to play on swings, slide, monkey bars, etc. while drunk. I literally crawled home from the school playground throwing up every couple of feet. Never touched it to this day.
  4. Our youngest Son, Chris, never drinks alcohol. For a while Eric and I thought maybe we turned him off alcohol. Not that we are alcoholics in anyway but when the children were younger and we had house parties, picnics and beach parties with family and friends that included alcohol and sometimes we were all pretty buzzed by the end of the day. We thought we broke him. After he turned 21 and still had no interest in alcohol we asked him why and if it had anything to do with us drinking. He then confessed that when him and his older Brother were 16 and 20 yrs. old and we let them stay at the shore house for a weekend by themselves that they had a couple of friends over and drank a bunch of different stuff (we all know mixing is never good) and he was very drunk and very very sick and never wanted to feel that way ever again. To do this day he never had another ounce of alcohol. We were glad to hear that we didn't break him😇
  5. You are doing a b2b right? Is this your first one? I hope you have an amazing cruise with beautiful weather and smooth seas😃 Bon Voyage🍸
  6. It is very easy to post items on FB Marketplace. I'm not sure that I am allowed to place a link to the site but basically type in face book marketplace on google it will show the site you need to click. from there click on buy or sell at this screen you then click create new listing. you will want to have pictures of your items on your phone or computer so you can post them on the listing. You may want to review some of the current listings to get an idea of what to write up. People post all kinds of items. The first item I sold on this site was a used car and have been using ever since. best to create a separate listing for each item you want to sell or give away. you will then receive messages through FB or texts to your cell phone with people interested. I usually post on my listings - CASH or Venmo only and Must pick up, will Not ship Good Luck!
  7. Sorry to hear you are dealing with a BIL that is having items disappear that were special to you. Yes, one thing at a time is the great advice. My MIL passed away last Thanksgiving and we have been slowly cleaning out her house. As I had already been through this with my parent's home I have a much different experience this time and basically letting the grandchildren pick what they want for their homes and donating the rest. Also, placing notices on FB marketplace to pick up "used furniture" for free has been a success. It does make me come home and clean out our stuff so no one has to go through all the trouble of deciding what to do with everything in our home. For photos, I put them all into a large plastic storage tub and my Brother and I picked out our favorites and made digital copies and gave memory sticks to various family members with the digital photos. We then picked out some that we wanted the actual photo and threw out the rest. Handling an Estate as Executor/Trustee does involve a lot of paperwork and patience. This is our 2nd time with being Executor so we have learned "the ropes" but everything seems to take longer nowadays then 3 years ago. Try not to get overwhelmed and stressed out. One thing at a time definitely comes into play.
  8. You provided some great ideas😃 When I moved my Mother to an Assisted Living apartment and I had the fun job of cleaning out my Parents house and found so many boxes of items she had packed up from her Mother's home from when she passed away that it was very overwhelming. A woman at the facility where my Mother lived told me "Remember the items she treasured are not necessarily items you have to keep, especially if they will just remain in a box unused." Those words stuck with me every time I went to the home to clean out. I donated many items to several different charities with the hopes that someone else will enjoy and appreciate them and I kept the items that had meaning to me.
  9. Maybe tomorrow. Still rather windy and chilly here so we decided to make some jumbo lump crabcakes with steak fries and roasted brussel sprouts for dinner tonight.
  10. We just returned from local Omaha Steak store that is having a 50% off sale and we had a coupon for an extra 10% off. Eric was like a kid in a candy store, spent a lot of money but got some great deals on filets, steaks, burgers, pot roast, smoked bacon, sausage links, sole stuffed with crabmeat, etc etc. Our freezer is officially restocked for grilling season. We had nasty rain and wind all night but woke up to sunshine although it is still rather windy.
  11. Instead of spending money for a 15-yr old boy to lounge at the beach club with Mom, maybe use the free beach areas and go snorkeling, play beach volleyball, play beach pool game, lots of fun activities you both could participate in together that are free. Or maybe rent a jet ski and you drive and he passenger. Definitely recommend the free snack shack or there is a huge buffet area too.
  12. The searching sounds exhausting but also very intriguing. Exciting to hear that you may soon have the answers you have been seeking. And remember you do belong somewhere....right where you are and with us "your cruise family"🥰
  13. We have enjoyed playing morning pickle ball in the indoor sports area. North star is free on ports days. Never tried I-fly but fun to check out this and flowrider.
  14. We always enjoy our sailings on Anthem. The 270 theater is a nice with beautiful views and the 270 Cafe is a great place to go for breakfast sandwiches and lunch. I always enjoy their tuna wrap and the kummelweck / roast beef sandwich. I ask for my beef to be sliced thin...delicious. I am an early riser which helps avoid the crowds in WJ for breakfast. The Via has lots of seating where people read, nap or families playing cards or board games on chilly days. The bar at the Via, next to Jamie's is one of our favorite indoor bars. The bartenders there are lots of fun. Aladdin and Indy enjoy doing magic tricks and always entertaining.
  15. We have done this itinerary several times on Anthem and Oasis. Will be back onboard end of this month. Traffic can line up quite a bit at the port I would give yourself an extra 45 minutes onto drive time from your hotel. This will give you time to drop off luggage with porters, park and checkin. Junkanoo Beach is an okay beach. Usually rent loungers for $10 pp with optional umbrella for extra I think. It's about a 15 minute walk from the pier. We usually walk there then taxi back.
  16. I wish I was too! We have the cruise booked for end of this month with Chris and Donna as a wedding present. I wish I could take more time off from work but I already have put in for 6 weeks of vacation time this year for various cruises and our time at our shore house (and I only started last August). Although I am eyeing up a 5 night Bermuda cruise for either July or August. 😇 I hope to meet everyone on this thread someday!!!
