  1. Thanks! I would rather just go to al Bacio or Retreat Lounge and have one made for me!😀
  2. This is a true observation. We have not (yet) seen them pricing themselves out of the market. Maybe they are pricing themselves out of the market for some former customers. But the new target customers on the newer ships seem to be there at the current elevated price points. I know this is hard for us older frequent and loyal cruisers to accept sometimes. We can walk away anytime. But Celebrity will find our replacements. In general I think they would prefer younger cruisers just starting out - vs. giving us long-time cruises the enhanced earned benefits (E, E+, Z).
  3. Funny thing is that every Butler I've ever had just remembered everything without scribbling down anything. They are pretty impressive- or I have been just lucky.
  4. A few weeks ago we were in CS-1235 on Equinox for 9 nights. Let me know if you have any specific questions. What are you worrying about?
  5. Yes I understand and I enjoy a big ol bowl of crawfish when I am in the South. Smaller and tastier than the lobster-crawfish that Celebrity serves by far!
  6. In general the answer is yes. Celebrity ships now have Starlink (satellite) so it should not be a problem.
  7. In general smaller ships can get into a wider variety of ports. The smaller luxury lines have more interesting destinations. For larger cruise ships, one example- it used to be that only M-Class ships could fully transit the Panama Canal. Now with the new locks larger ships could fit - but still need to be modified to go under the Bridge of the Americas.
  8. No it is not rude. It is a communication to help the butler with scheduling. That is quite different than handing the butler a list of daily tasks and chores IMHO.
  9. But Celebrity calls them lobster. Just like they used to say Wagyu beef burgers or sliders were genuine Kobe Beef. Given the number of threads here on Lobster and extra charges, I often wonder how many people know that they are getting all worked up over crawfish?
  10. In Fine Cut on Edge, they offered a Surf &Turf with a Filet and a true Maine lobster tail. A couple of years back anyway.
  11. It is entirely accurate, biologically speaking. Cold water lobster with claws is in the lobster family. The Spiny or Caribbean lobster served by Celebrity has no claws and is in the crawfish family.
  12. In the Old Port where your ship will dock, most local's go to Becky's Diner. There are other good places too. https://www.beckysdiner.com/
  13. Well that photo does say 2021.
  14. This positive test requirement was waived by the FDA a few weeks ago.
  15. If going to Portland I'll let you know where to get lobster. We have a family place there.
  16. I never knew you could ask for a coffee maker on Celebrity.
  17. My dw ordered the "lobster" (or the crawfish tail that they call lobster on Celebrity). Good preparation and presentation at the table, but very small. The size of perhaps a large prawn at best.
  18. We just recently did Equinox and used the Spa. We cancelled one appointment (24 hr prior) and were not charged. Note that the Spa is not on the Celebrity App for appointments and they will not show up on your daily calendar. At least the case for Equinox.
  19. Jim that was the same for us recently (in a CS). The shoreside Retreat concierge called us and took down our very simple requests - but they were not there when we arrived. The butler and room steward took care of us right away. I even filled out the form in advance for an extension cord and distilled water (for my CPAP). Not there. Also we could not get dinner reservations at Murano prior to boarding. But there was plenty of availability at the times we wanted - when we boarded we went there directly.
  20. As of a few weeks ago when we went to Murano on Equinox, there was no extra charge. The lobster tails were very small. A lot of people ordered two.

  22. If you look just at RCCL and Celebrity, there are a lot of new ships and cabins of all types. And more being built and launched. No older ships have been taken from the fleet. So as a general observation, all of these added cabins should work in the cruise consumer's favor at some point. Ships gotta sail full to maximize profits. Cabins maybe need to be priced competitively at some point you would think. Then add all of the new ships and new builds from other competing lines. There should be a lot of available inventory out there for us if we are not too choosy.
  23. Wow that is a great illustration. And a ridiculous increase! I was trying to point out that all prices that we deal with are very much elevated these days. We should expect cruise price increases in general. But no way that the same cabin and ship/class should be up 108%. I actually do not have another Celebrity cruise booked at all- for the first time in years. We are renting a beach house for a month- for less than the price of a Celebrity cruise for a week in the Retreat.
