  1. It depends. If you've been to any of those ports before, then no (unless you're exploring a new part of that port). If it's your first time, then yes, so that you can get the lay of the land.
  2. Just the Sea Pass will do. Not only will you need this to make purchases and use your drink package on the ship, but you'll need it to embark and disembark the ship at all ports. It also serves as your room key.
  3. For the early fixed dining time it's around 5:30. That's usually the seating I get.
  4. I haven't done iFly, but I've done the Perfect Day zipline twice and was weighed both times. They don't reveal your weight, but they did put a bracelet on me to let the staff know which lines to put me on. They were very discreet with the weight, and didn't even tell me my weight. They did the same for the zipline on Oasis when I went in October.
  5. You could install a side APK, but that could bring on a whole other myriad of issues, including malware. Also, if you select "About This App" it will tell you the minimum requirements to run the app. it will tell you which minimum Android version you need to run the app. Go into your tablet settings and see if there's an update. Install it if there's one. This will be good for your tablet in the long run, as the system upgrades often include free features and security upgrades. You might want to check to see if there's enough memory to run the application on the tablet. If there's not enough memory, you can buy more (usually up to 32 gigs or more) and install it on the tablet. With that said, if the tablet is a few years old, it doesn't owe you anything and you may be better off upgrading. Oh, by the way, did I mention I volunteer for Google? Let me know if you have any issues downloading the app and I can escalate the issue.
  6. According to the Royal Caribbean Press Center, he is a teen.
  7. Yes, and a lot of people don't know that it's free so there's usually no lines.
  8. It's totally fine to leave. However, out of fairness, I would offer a reason why. Don't be rude with your criticism, be polite so that they know it's constructive criticism, and not just being petty or rude.
  9. I've left my formal dress at home before and didn't realize it until I got onboard!
  10. We're still recouping from the holidays here. We lost power, electricity, phones, and internet on 12/23, getting it back on 12/24, early afternoon. We had a friend over when the power came back on, and they stayed for a few hours, so we couldn't even start our baking until 7 or 8PM on Christmas Eve. All we had time to bake was cookies and brownies! Pies and anything else couldn't be baked! We lost power for a total of about 17 hours.
  11. While you certainly can book flights to arrive on the day of the cruise, experienced cruisers like me tend to book flights for the day before. Let me tell you what happened the week of my 13th birthday and you'll see why. Please note that my actual birthday was on Debarkation Day. Day 1- Embarkation Day: we booked flights through the cruise line that had a connection in Atlanta and we would meet the ship in Aruba. We got up at 4AM to make a 6AM flight to Atlanta and catch a 10AM flight from there to Aruba to catch the ship and sail away by 4PM. We booked a limo to the airport and they asked if we would mind picking up another party. We said no, so we picked up the other party. Rightfully so, they started talking about the fishing trip that they just finished, which is fine....except when you're not a fan of fish and have to hear about it for the next hour while driving to the airport! We get to Atlanta fine, but once there, we get all checked in, only to find out our flight is delayed 3 times, for a total of a 12 HOUR DELAY. We kept getting food vouchers we couldn't use. We knew half the people on the ship before we got on it, as everyone else in our gate was heading to the cruise too. The first flight that came in, the pilot forgot their passport. The second flight that came through, one of the crew members forgot their passport. Finally, a third flight came in with everyone having their passports! The only bad thing was they were coming in from Turkey! All that was well and good, except for a few things: 1.) I had only brought ONE CD from home...got tired of it 6 hours into the delay 2.) They did hold the ship for us but said that they would have to leave no later than 5AM. We got into Aruba at 4AM. Since I cannot sleep in tight spaces, at this point, I had been up for 24 hours straight....I was not a happy camper! Day 2: Finally we get to the cabin, where our steward told us of the issue of having to arrive by 5AM. Had the ship been forced to sail, we would have had to catch a flight to the next port ON OUR OWN DIME! 5 hours later, at 10 AM: "wakey-wakey, eggs and bakey! Time for the Lifeboat Drill!" That was the most sleep we got the entire trip. Later that day, my parents reminded the wait staff of my birthday the last night of the cruise. They continue to do this throughout the entire trip, even in front of me. There's also doggy bags all over the ship since we are now having to rush to make up for lost time. NOBODY was walking straight that day! Day 4: It's formal night, and I'm watching the show, being sung to. All of a sudden, in the middle of the song, the lights go out and we lose power IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN! We lost power and an engine! This also happens to be the night that I'm in a ballgown, so I head back to my room to call it a night, only to realize I forgot my key IN THE ROOM! Guess who had to wait for her parents to get back to the cabin to get in! Day 6: It's the last night of the cruise. We had dinner and everything is going well....until it comes time for the dessert. The staff were so enthused with 2 twin boys at the next table that they COMPLETELY FORGOT MY BIRTHDAY! Later that night, the Maitre'd called my room and apologized. All is good, but I'm still waiting for my cake....22 years later! Day 7: Debarkation Day- we get off the ship and FINALLY get to see Aruba during the daytime while on an excursion! We get back to the airport to catch our flight, only to find that our flight to Atlanta is delayed AGAIN! This time, it was only 4 hours, but we were not allowed to go to the shops or restaurants, so a few people who had alcohol decided to have a few drinks. They started yelling at the flight attendant, to the point where she said "to those of you who have been patient with us AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, thank you for flying with us" just before we got on the plane. We arrive back in Atlanta, only to find that our connection has been delayed too...but only by 15 min. We make a mad dash through Customs only to waive buh-bye to our luggage once we reach the gate as the plane flies off with it back home! We called the cruise line, told them what happened and they agreed to hold the luggage at the airport back home, fly us first class back the next day, and put us up in a hotel for the night. So my birthday present from the cruise line that year was a first-class flight! And I wish I was making that up! As far as the dining arrangements, it depends on the cruise line, but most from what I've seen will let you make those arrangements as soon as you book the cruise. Just tell them which seating you want.
  12. I do! I have a copy in my wallet, a QR code on my phone, a picture on my phone, and the original with my passport. No way am I missing that ship because of a technicality!
  13. Been busy here this week: 1.) Thanksgiving....need I say more? 2.) Birthday: mine was yesterday 3.) Ukulele concert TODAY!
  14. Sign the kids up for the free Adventure Ocean kids club! My niece loved it when she was their age!
  15. The later pickup time you can get, the better. Anything can happen, especially when it comes to going through customs.
  16. I'm super excited! My Ukulele group just got invited to play at one of the biggest concerts in the city (which is hosted every year) next week and today I found out I have a featured part in the concert! I'm singing the lead part in John Lennon's "So This Is Christmas ("War Is Over)"! Oh and it's my birthday next week!
  17. You don't need to carry it with you, but I bring the cup anyways for the times where I'm not near a bar. You can ask the bar staff to get you a drink if you show them your card and they give it to you in a glass.
  18. I only saw the one, as I wasn't paying too much attention. From what I vaguely remember, they did play the part.
  19. I've seen them do the crew muster drills during days in port when I stayed on the ship. The portion I saw had them role playing certain types of passengers that might need assistance. I saw one crew member wearing a sign that said "I am a lost child" as the crew assisted them to the muster station.
  20. Sorry I haven't been on much, I just finished our review for Oasis Of The Seas on YouTube: Oasis Of The Seas Review
  21. I was on there last month, they're located a deck above the pool area.
  22. I was on Deck 14 over the Boardwalk last month. Noise was an issue, as the Aqua Theater was right outside our cabin and we could hear the Aqua 80's show every night. Storage was an issue as well. We had 4 traveling with us, and while the cabin sleeps 4, it definitely doesn't have storage for 4! The Abyss was our FAVORITE attraction on the ship, and we didn't mind having it in our view. We would often say that we could take the "expressway" down to wherever we needed to go! It's REALLY not that scary if you want to try it. They basically give you a toboggan made of carpet to slide on, and the turns actually slow you down. I went on it 7 times, my niece went on it about 15 times, and each of my parents went once (even my Mom, who's afraid of heights loved it!).
  23. I was wondering the same thing. I have a GoPro and want to use it for ziplining, how well will it hold up? I already have a chest strap (made for a GoPro) but the last camera I used (a VivoAction Go, which cost about $20) decided to not record my entire zipline on my last cruise. It was never used, and after some investigation, it turns out the battery was bad. I'm hoping the GoPro won't have the same experience. The other camera never got wet, never faced the elements...nothing.
