Just read on FB that Arcadia is delaying departure from Southampton for 24 hours due to weather forecast. This is the picture on Wed/Thurs

Definitely not. The new big ones have far more height, therefore far more windage. Also, the ships like Aurora are built a bit like liners, so more likely to be stable.
And on that weird menu, I had the left hand side lobster claw and 3 prawns. Very tiny, although nice flavour. Why do they have 2 beef dishes on together.
Interesting to note the creaking. We have had cabins like that before, but in our Force 10 on Aurora, Inside cabin deck 8, we didn't hear a thing. I also had the steak one night, mainly because there was nothing else for me on the menu and it was just about OK, but tough.
Hope you will be out of this low tomorrow.
If you had roast lamb and roast pork, that's the identical menu that was on Aurora the first night. OK if you like roasts!!!
Not surprised it's bumpy, there's another storm coming on Thursday.
Many moons ago, 1967 to be precise, I emigrated to Canada with 2 other girls on the Cunard Sylvania. We had a Force 11 for 5 days. I was sick for 3 of them. We finally managed to make it to the bar on the 3rd evening and the waiter gave us all brandy & port. I don't like either, but it certainly worked. Ship was only 15000 tons. We passed the Queen Elizabeth on her last journey and she kept disappearing behind the swells.
There seemed to be quite a few starters that were panna cotta. The one I had for dessert was supposed to be lemongrass and something else. tasted of nothing.
I've decided I'm either fussy or not British!! When we go to the Xmas party from the office I never have the turkey, always the fish dish. I cook turkey and the trimmings for Xmas Day, but that's enough!
Yep identical to Aurora. I remember it well. Nothing on there for me. I had the pan fried chicken and it was not good. You see what I mean though. Roast Lamb on the right and Roast pork on the left. If you don't do roasts, there is hardly any choice.
No matter. My husband had the lamb. I don't mind veggie dishes, but those are hardly exciting are they? Sweetcorn risotto?
That's right. They don't do it on Freedom any more. we were Club and they put your name on the bottle and the table number. Agree with Jennie Wren above, food very average, slightly better on formal nights, but the continuous roasts drive me nuts. I also struggled some evenings to choose the least worst.
Interestingly for the first time ever I had holding authorisations on my Credit Card. First of all there was the £1 when I registered it That's fine, then every day the amounts we spent on board appeared in the "pending" part of my cc. After the first week, the early ones disappeared and by the end of the cruise (19 nights), only the last 10 days were showing as pending. Two days after we got back, the total bill went straight on to the card (not in pending) and the other amounts disappeared.
