  1. Yes, but I feel the boring menu is deliberate to get you to pay for alternate venues. Now they have included the "always included" into the main courses, cuts down the choice considerably and there are now 3 veg choices. One night, there was veg stew and another night there was poached kohl rabi? Give me a break.
  2. That menu just leaves me cold. I was struggling to choose something. The avocado thing sounded the least awful. It was quite good. Another person on our table was in the same position. We both had it. I suppose I remember the days when I was pushed to choose because there were 3 things I liked. Now I struggle to find anything I like.
  3. Ha ha, it was a last resort! The only thing that sounded half decent.
  4. If you scroll down, you will see my question along the same lines. Lots of good answers there. You cannot add the discount retrospectively, only when you book
  5. Friday looks better, but this is Thursday. https://www.windy.com/?2023110906,49.937,-5.156,5
  6. This one will be but it's still giving gusty SW winds on Monday, Tuesday not too bad, but Wednesday doesn't look great going past the Bay and the Channel doesn't look good either. https://www.windy.com/?2023110812,49.937,-5.156,5
  7. Agree, drives me nuts. You are never IN the Bay unless going to La Rochelle or somewhere on the North East coast of Spain. I have actually done the Bay in a sailing boat quite a few times. You sail inside the Island of Ushant, down the Raz de Seine. I have found the Channel far worse.
  8. Yep, remember that one. Nothing on there that suited me so I had the Avocado and herb thingy which was quite nice.
  9. Ha ha, just checked other agent, they only give 2.5%!! Hmmmm. Have got 5.27% from another agent.
  10. So I now have the discount,, a measly 1.9%. Won't use them again.
  11. Can I ask if your TA begins with B? Quite happy with mine, but booked on board P&O and they sent the booking through to them. Docs arrived with no usual discount. I queried it and it's a mistake, but just thought it might have been deliberate. I have used a different TA for my Fred cruise but have never used B, but might in future.
  12. It's starting to blow here in South Devon. Shipping forecast for Plymouth is giving Hurricane Force 12 in the next 6-8 hours. GALE WARNING Issued: 15:58 (UTC) on Wed 1 Nov 2023 Gale force 8 now veered southwesterly, backing southeasterly and increasing storm force 10 imminent, veering westerly and increasing hurricane force 12 soon WIND Cyclonic severe gale 9 to violent storm 11, occasionally hurricane force 12 at first, becoming westerly 6 to gale 8 later. SEA STATE Rough becoming very rough or high, then becoming very high for a time. WEATHER Rain. VISIBILITY Moderate or poor.
  13. Thanks all. Doesn't look like I can use it this year, but worth having for another time.
  14. Yes, that's what I thought. I will find out soon.
  15. Just been told I am eligible for a Blue Light Card. How does it work with P&O. Is it correct you have to claim on booking only?
  16. Just finished a watch at Prawle Point (National Coastwatch). New gale warning issued this morning for Plymouth was Gale 9 to Hurricane Force 12 with high or very high seas. Even when that's over the seas will remain high for 2 days or so.
  17. Yes it is. As a Watchkeeper at Prawle Point on the South Coast of Devon, we have decided to close the Lookout on Thursday. Too dangerous for our watchkeepers to go on duty. I don't envy Arcadia leaving on Friday either. The residual swell will be quite big.
  18. Or if you are on O2, almost nothing.
  19. If you have a lot of ports, I would use the wifi ashore. If you have a lot of sea days, I might buy the package. I think it's very expensive.
  20. It looks horrendous for Thursday. Here at the Harbour Office, we are moving boats to more sheltered moorings. It's a force 11 from the West on Thursday and the residual swell will last long after that. Enjoy!
  21. The worst we had was on Azura, and as that is the same as Ventura, I can just imagine. We were in the Med at the time.
  22. Oh that's odd. It was on one of the pages on Aurora. I would have thought they would all be the same, but then............. So 28 knots is just under a Force 7.
  23. The Force is shown on the Ship channel on your TV.
  24. OK well just done 3 nights in a Force 10 with high seas on Aurora and no cracking in our cabin!!
