  1. That route is no longer than the other way. In fact they landed 10 minutes before their schedule time even though they took off late.
  2. Exactly. Of course you can fly a different route.
  3. That flight looks like it will land on time or just before. They wouldn't choose the route necessarily, Flight control would. Sticking close to land????? Hardly!!
  4. Have only travelled on Arcadia, Aurora and Azura and had the worst time in the Med on Azura. Not sea kindly. The other 2 I have been in a Force 11 on Aurora and Force 10 on Arcadia. Both handled it beautifully. Of course she has stabilizers, but you can't always use these if it's too rough. The P&O website says they have stabilizers on all their ships.
  5. Yeah right. They told us that about Oriana. She was gone 2 months later.
  6. Now there's a surprise. Never seen people queueing for drinks though. Usually steward service? And anyway, isn't this a 4 days cruise. No drinks packages on those.
  7. But again that's the fault of the airport not the airline. The ground take care of how to get disabled pax onto the flights.

    Venice

It will stop a coach load of cruise people on an excursion, unless you split them into 2 and they all have headsets!

    Venice

Yes that's true. Cruise passengers spend very little ashore. We always DIY and do have lunch out, as it makes such a lovely change
  10. No way! But actually some of the Aurora cruises have good prices as well. However, we are off on Fred in April
  11. I totally agree. I am 76 and still walk the dog twice a day, also still work part time and feel about 40, well until something hurts!!
  12. We don't actually worry about what we spend, but on the other hand, we don't do soft drinks at all, nor do we buy water. So we have a large wine each in the bar and then a bottle on the table with dinner. On Aurora they keep it for the next night if you haven't drunk it all. I have the odd coffee. On our last 19 night cruise, our spend was £560. The package would have been more than double. So it's horses for courses. totally agree about the time you spend ashore and maybe not feeling well.

No I tend to agree. Same as Dubrovnik, last time we were there, 4 enormous ships and Aurora. Could not move in the town at all. It was awful.
  14. Was just looking on PO website for this cruise, but of course it's too late. Whilst there I was amazed at some of the pries on Iona - 14 night cruises for £849pp? And others.

No wonder cruises are not going to Venice very often. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-67851201 by George Wright and Adam Durbin
  16. I wondered if they had new mattresses on Aurora in October. Extremely comfortable.
  17. Have you tried BA food recently! My friends said it was minimal and awful.
  18. Yes definitely they are not recommended for everyone. My legs have never swelled either in the air or on a ship. The best thing on long haul is to foot raises every once in a while. About 15 every half an hour.
  19. It happens all the time, not just to Maleth, but the smaller the airline, the more of a problem it is.
  20. Well if the one that diverted after the turbulence is damaged, they are short of an aircraft. That causes ongoing delays in any airline. Nobody can predict things like that.
  21. I think we've just had this question. No point in asking it. Everybody does what they want. If you want to tip - do. If you don't don/t! Simples
  22. Yep it's windy!! https://www.windy.com/-Menu/tools?57.041,0.205,5,m:fdWaf7o
  23. Yes we had the same on her all the way from Gib to Southampton. She handled it really well, although there were some accidents with glasses and crockery"
