  1. It is a typical Princess lunch menu. What is special is that it is nice and calm compared to the zoo that is the buffet on embarkation day. A nice relaxed lunch is a nice relaxing way to really start the onboard vacation.
  2. Not a stupid question at all. The App is not perfect. It can also work differently on different devices. Are you and the other person using the App on the same physical device? Even when I try to sign in using the web version of the App I am told that the booking number is already claimed. When the other person signs in to the app, try signing in with the booking number, not with that person's password.
  3. I do not think they made any changes as a way to save money. Someone at Princess probably really thought that DMW offered the opportunity to have both Traditional and Anytime offered and bookable via the app. However, reality is that even booking for the same time in the same dining room every evening is no guarantee that you will be able to be seated at that time and certainly no guaranty that you would get the same waitstaff or the same table each evening. Some people have been able to make arrangements once on board to have the same table every evening, but this not anything that can be arranged in advance as TD did. Also, with TD, Princess set the times so they would allow the meal to coordinate with show times in the Princess Theater. With DMW, the passenger must guess months in advance of the cruise what the showtimes will be so they can select an appropriate time to eat.
  4. Not disposable. But if the ship was not originally scheduled to be based in the UK, Princess did not have the kettles just waiting to be put into cabins.
  5. This used to be an event on most Princess cruises. On one Trans-Atlantic Princess cruise several years ago, there was a session like this with a different officer on many sea days. Extremely informative as each presenter told why they had picked the career they had at sea and how they advanced through their careers.
  6. Exactly our experience. Cabin was assigned while we were on a flight to LAX 24 hours before embarkation. Those who find out at check-in probably did not check their reservation online in the 12 hours before heading to the pier.
  7. Since you were already in Australia, as a non-resident you obviously had ETAs or had sneaked into this island country. There was no reason for Princess to ask for the ETAs at all unless you were embarking elsewhere than in Australia for a cruise going to Australia..
  8. As posted above, it is $15/day for a single device at a time use, previously $10/day. The $20 price was the old price for 4 devices at a time. These prices are before any Platinum/Elite discount is applied.
  9. \My repricing required a new booking number. Thus everything attached to the old booking was cancelled including the order for the Medallions, pre-paid Internet at the old rate and DMW reservations.
  10. It should not have caused a problem except it appears Princess did not want to spend money to purchase the kettles.
  11. As the photo below shows, it does say Princess in the return address part. True that is not on the outside of the envelope, but is on the inside portion visible from the outside.
  12. For it to be returned the same day, the cabin steward must have it by 9 AM.
  13. The cabin attendant is not the best person to ask as he has been trained to be sure passengers do not have brought their own kettle as Princess cannot know if it is safe or not. The kettles supplied by Princess for UK sailings have met the Princess for safety. So you need to ask someone up the management chain at Princess why the safe kettles Princess supplies for UK sailings cannot be provided for Australia sailings.
  14. The kitchen tour after the cooking demo in the Princess theater has not been held since the pandemic started. That tour was a quick walk though with very little food preparation being visible. The UST tour goes much further into the galley and is much more than a fast walk through and is usually led by the head chef.
  15. Another factor to consider is OBC you may have. If you have significant non-refundable OBC and have booked with Plus or Premier, what would you spend it on if you are not taking Princess shore excursions. Yes, Spa services, sanctuary, and specialty restaurants, but you may not want enough of those services to use all the OBC up.
  16. Yes, and they wanted a shipping charge.
  17. Often servers who walk around and take drink orders do not get the info from your Medallion, but ask for your cabin number. If someone gives the wrong cabin number by mistake or the server does not write down what was said correctly, the charge will go to the wrong person...and that could be what happened to you.
  18. It is not when you booked the cruise. It is when you order the Medallion. If you ordered after mid-December, the shipping charge applies no matter when you booked or when the cruise will be. There was a window of only about a week between when the shipping charge was announced and when it was put into effect. WIthin that window I ordered the Medallions for a cruise upcoming ion May. I rebooked the cruise for a lower price and that Medallion order was cancelled and if I want the Medallions shipped to my home now, there will be a charge. Previous to the recent price increases to the Plus and Premier packages, Princess expected 75% of passengers to book with one of those packages and thus would be exempt from the shipping charge. I cannot predict if the recent price increases will mean more than 25% of passengers will now have to pay shipping charges or pick them up at check-in. When checking in for a recent cruise having received the Medallion at home and being in the "green lane" check-in was quick and required very little time. I don't know how having to pick up the Medallion at check-in will change this. Maybe (just speculation) if you do not have the Medallion sent to your home, you can no longer be considered being "green."
  19. Sorry your experience was not as good as ours. Our waiter, assistant waiter and headwaiter in Club Class were extremely attentive and the food/beverages were brought to the table in a very timely manner. Even the one time we had to be seated in another waiters area, out reglau CC waitstaff came by to see how we were doing that evening.
  20. That would be the way shore excursions work. Purchase in advance using OBC or a credit card. But on board the system just processes the purchases again using non-refundable OBC first and if any pre-cruise credit card payments do not get used, they become refundable OBC.. The onboard account statement may look confusing, but that is how it has worked (so far). I am, sure that psychologically people who have paid for something in advance feel they had better use it whereas if reserved in advance and paid for during the cruise many would feel it is OK to simply cancel and they will not have lost anything. This means people who book and pay for shore excursions in advance are more serious about actually taking them whereas in the past when excursions could be reserved in advance without prepayment a number of people would book them and then decide on board whether to actually take them. Similar to the promotions with $1 deposits. A number of people put down $1 deposits for cruises that they end up deciding not to take, often booking cruises that embark at the same time and later deciding which one, if any, they will actually take.
  21. Princess does not really care what it is used for. It is just a marketing gimmick. One promotion might be for just $100 OBC. It can be used for anything OBC can be used for. The next promotion to be different might be for $100 for shore excursions. But in reality is just like the previous example and can be used for anything OBC can be used for.
  22. Yet CCL Corp stock is not recovering as well as the competition's stock. For example. on Feb 26, 2020 CCL stock was $37.76 and today it is $11.88, down 68.5% RCL stock on Feb 26, 2020 was $82.62 and today is $75.37, down 8.8%
  23. It has always been one year at a time. For example, in February, 2022 when it was renewed it said: The benefit is applicable on sailings through July 31, 2023. Reservations must be made by February 28, 2023. If they choose to renew it again this year, it will say The benefit is applicable on sailings through July 31, 2024. Reservations must be made by February 28, 2024.
  24. Right, your TA was notified and passed the information on to you. But Princess will not notify you directly even though the message posted above said they will.
  25. That is and has been the policy. And the only reason that OBC can be used for pre-cruise booking of shore excursions is that Princess used to allow pre-cruise reservations with no payment until on board. Yes, you can buy a day's worth of Internet on board. It cannot be done pre-cruise.
