  1. Back when the rate was $10, I called and was told it had to be charged at $10 with half back as OBC on board. But I went to the app I was only charged $5/day. Looks like the app is inconsistent, but it did have the correct Captain's Circle status for me.
  2. Which means three of the eight decks with passenger cabins do not have a Laundromat.
  3. That will happen when they also change the name of the "Champagne Fountain" to the "Sparkling Wine Fountain."
  4. That was to cover two specialty dining meals.
  5. There is no time ashore difference in Barcelona in changing the B2B as you indicate is possible. No matter how you have it booked, the ship arrives at the same time, lets people exit the ship at the same time, and sails at the same time. If you did want to make the B2B change, it would be subject to the then current pricing and perks. You would be canceling the booking you have and losing any pre-booked Princess shore excursions ($$$ would be refunded) and any onboard reservations including DMW dinner reservations. Any Princess EZAir bookings would usually also be lost.
  6. a) The higher price for voyages after 2/20 was put into effect in December. There was about a week notice after the announcement when you could pay the old price. b) If you purchase while on board, you pay the net price. When you pay with the app before the cruise, it is now supposed to only charge the net price.
  7. Since the designated area will not be large enough to hold all those eligible who might show up, you may still need to get there early to be sure of seats being available.
  8. That is the USA requirement. However, a country on the itinerary may require that all passengers have a passport. In that case, all minors must have a passport. For example, Caribbean nations that require cruise passengers to have a passport include: Barbados, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique, St. Bart's, and Trinidad and Tobago.
  9. It is not just the big box bookings that the OBC will not be available until on the ship. It happens with many regular TA bookings. It really depends on who is really supplying the OBC. Some TA OBC is really out of the TA's pocket. Some TA OBC is really coming from Princess. But---the way the accounting system works (at least at present) is when you board all the excursions will really then get posted to your onboard account and non-refundable OBC will get used up first even if you paid for an excursion pre-cruise with a credit card. So if you have enough non-refundable OBC to cover the excursions and do not spend all of your refundable OBC during the cruise, you will get what's left back after the cruise.
  10. A section of the Theater will be set aside for those eligible to sit there with the Premier package. The benefit is to sit in that section, not for specific seats. The section will not be able to hold all those eligible to sit there, so it will be first come, first seated. And if any seats are not yet taken, x minutes before the show they will be opened to everyone. Of course just like Princess has its own ideas about the best cabin locations and many passengers do not agree, those eligible for this seating area may prefer to sit in another area they like better.
  11. You indicated: "My understanding is that if you purchase onboard, they provide a non-refundable OBC for half the onboard price ($15/day)." My point is they do not charge $15 and thus there is no need to provide any OBC,
  12. If you purchase on board with the Plat/Elite benefit, you are just charged the $7.50/day price.
  13. Yes. And any OBC from using a FCD is non-refundable.
  14. On board you can either actually book a cruise or purchase $100 Future Cruise Certificates which can be used as a deposit for a cruise within two years and, if not used, refunded at the end of two years. Either way, the benefit (besides the FCC being a full deposit) is OBC on the future voyage with the amount ranging from $15 to $150 per person, the amount depending on the length of the voyage and the type of cabin booked. In the past there have been a very few times that the OBC amount would be doubled if certain cruises were booked. Pricing for any on board booking are exactly the same as if you made the same booking with Princess that day from home. However any booking you make on board that is not past final payment can be transferred within 60 days to your Travel Agent who may or may not give you a discount price for the booking. The only real price bargain on board is if you are on a cruise and they want you to book the next segment instead of disembarking at the end of the cruise.
  15. We were on the Ruby over New Years. The CD and his staff were great fun.
  16. The hands-free door unlocking in no way, shape or form involves the app.
  17. Pre-cruise Internet can digitally only be purchased via the App as it can no longer be purchased via a web browser as in the past. It can also be purcashed pre-cruise by calling Princess. I think (but am not sure) that once on the ship, you can purchase Internet via a web browser when you first try to sign in to the Internet.
  18. The App is not needed to access MedallionNet from a computer, a smart phone or a tablet.
  19. Yes, you can when you are on board purchase Internet for a day. Why not load the books onto your IPad before starting the cruise?
  20. I was on one Princess cruise when the newlywed couple was quite mature (may have been the oldest of the three couples), but had only been married for less than a week. One of their answers involved joining the mile high club while flying to the embarkation port.
