  1. Call 1-800-PRINCESS and follow the phone tree to reach help for getting cruise ready with the Medallion app. Then ask the rep to set up your arrival time. (But as many have noted, nobody looks at that when you do arrive at the port.)
  2. Princess USA does that now. (started several months ago)
  3. It is not a seat of your choice, It is a seat that may be still available when you get there in a section that is in a location of Princess' choice. Since the size of the reserved section is smaller than the number of people who will be eligible to sit there, you may have to eat extra fast to get a seat in that section at all.
  4. Just trade Medallions at the times you want to switch.
  5. That is a rare circumstance. Normally it is $3 wash and $3 dry.
  6. I once even received a check for a couple of $$ from Princess a year after a cruise because a port tax had been reduced when we were there on the cruise.
  7. Legally I think they have to. I do not know how NCL gets away with not doing it.
  8. ceilidh1 -- As this cruise nears its end, I want to thank you and the others who posted from the ship for this very informative thread about the first Ruby cruise out of Galveston.
  9. When you eat at those places, you have not already paid for a meal left uneaten elsewhere. When you eat at a ship's specialty restaurant, you have already paid for a meal in the MDR that you are skipping.
  10. You get an entry every time you unlock your door with the Medallion and then open and close it if you are at sea while the casino is open.
  11. That is the way to do it. When I did this last month for a cruise in May, only tables for 2 were available to reserve anywhere near the time we wanted. I find it hard to believe all the share tables were really booked that far in advance. In the past it often has been difficult to get a table for two. Not so for my upcoming cruise.
  12. Although we have not taken this tour, we have taken Cruisetours with Princess in other parts of the world. We were well taken care of, had good guides, stayed at very good hotels. In the past on Cruise Critic I have read posts from people who were very pleased with the land part of their Princess cruisetours in Europe.
  13. And just as susceptible to raising prices just because they can: o Raising non-performing Internet price by 50%. o Raising Plus package cost by 50% in less than 6 months adding dubious benefits o Having Best Sale Ever pricing higher than before the Best Sale Ever while pretending most of the BSE benefits are free while actually charging $60/day/person for them.
  14. Recent "live" reports say that formal nights no longer are non-smoking in the casino.
  15. Recent posted menus from other ships only show chocolate and vanilla on the dinner menu, none of the special flavors.
  16. And that is why specialty dining has caught on and allowed Princess to reduce quality in the MDRs. And that is why upgrade fairy reports are next to zero now since people are in a bidding frenzy to pay for what Princess used to award free.
  17. The real original LBD had a crisp bottom, overly rich chocolate (not pudding), and a Godiva chocolate with the sea witch logo on top. It has been years since that version was served. What is served now is a Love Boat Nightmare.
  18. Correct. For all the Princess ships the web site shows lower berth capacity which is number of cabins x2. This is why you will often see that ships are sailing at 105% (or similar) capacity as some of the 3rd and 4th berths are occupied. So far I have been unable to locate the number of 3rd and 4th berths on this ship.
