  1. I am not sure excursion cost should be a factor. The cost of an excursion includes admission fees. Why should a guide on a four hour tour with admission fees be tipped more than a guide on a four hour tour that costs less because there are no admission fees?
  2. And if they mention it a number of times, not just once?
  3. Different when checking in at Galveston. One line to get into the building. One line for security. After security, one line for green and another for non-green. If before boarding starts, Elite & Suites go to their special area to wait.
  4. First time I saw that the reserved area in the Princess Theater was only for Production shows.
  5. Very late? In my opinion, even much earlier than that it would be full. With cruises being about to be booked 18 months or more in advance, the sanctuary might be fully booked within the first month a cruise is available. Those booking in the following 17 or more months would not have a chance. Of course there might be some cancellations, so those who find no spot available can check very often to see if a spot opens up. If checking twice daily, that would be 730 times in a year. So then people would want Princess to set up a waitlist where people could wait for a spot to be available for the full cruise, for selected days or for selected half-days. We know how well that works for those on a waitlist for a cabin. And we know how well the reservation system works for DMW.
  6. Need to do the correct math. With the old benefit for a 10 day cruise there were 250 minutes worth $125. Ten days now with the new benefit costs $7.50 * 10 or $75. So the savings with the new benefit is $75 compared to the $125 previously. For two of us that was 500 minutes for a 10 day cruise which was more than we needed. So we have gone from free internet (for the amount of time we needed) to paying $75 for a single device package for 10 days. For an upcoming 33 day cruise (in two segments) we have gone from a total of 1000 free minutes to paying $247.50 (or $495 if we want to use our devices at the same time which was possible the old way at no extra cost). From free to $495 is, to me, a reduction in the benefit for platinum and elite members. Yes, unlimited is more convenient and better than a limited number of minutes, but to save $495, I am willing to sign on and off as needed. Note also that the old benefit required you to purchase nothing. The new benefit requires you to make a purchase. The 10% off shore excursions also requires you to make a purchase. (I can often save 50% or more on shore excursions by booking a private excursion instead of an equivalent Princess one.)
  7. The value of the old free minutes was about 50 cents/minute, so on a seven day cruise the 150 free minutes would be worth $75. Paying full price for 7 days now is $15 * 7 = $105. With the discount, you pay $7.50 * 7 = $52.50, a savings of $52.50. (Before the recent price increase, the full price for 7 days was $70 which was less than the value of the previous free minutes. If Princess had provided free Internet for the 7 days, it still would cost Princess less than the previous value of the free minutes.) So the value of the Internet benefit is now $52.50. But if you pay extra for the Plus or Premier Package, then the value of the Internet benefit is $0
  8. a) If you want a coffee card, you must exchange the entire setup for two coffee cards. There is no option to trade part of the setup for one coffee card. b) Any item in the setup can be exchanged for any available non-alcoholic item. So you can have pop and water in any combination you want. And the pop can be any of the allowed varieties.
  9. On the Ruby last month, no discount if the price was reduced.
  10. If you make a post and notice it is in error within 15 minutes or so after posting it, click on the three dots on the upper right of the post. You will see an option to edit the message. Then you can change it to what you wanted it to be.
  11. If you have a 4-device package and switch a device, it will automatically log off one of the four devices in use. However the one logged off may not be the one you were using. It could be one being used by one of the other three people since all four devices are with the same logon information. Of course if you manually logoff your device first, then it will not log off someone elkse when you sign on to the different device.
  12. Posts on other threads have indicated that your Plus package will include drinks up to the new limit. New features, such as exercise classes and fancy desserts, will not be included.
  13. This was by and for another person at the table we were at. All the other person said is that it came from "downstairs."
  14. Maybe by price, but not by performance. That was the old pricing before the date in December they raised the single device price from $10/day to $15/day.
  15. E-mail is included with the $20/day rate. https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/onboard-packages/internet-and-phone-packages/compare-wifi-packages Depending on Celebrity/RCI loyalty status, there is a discount of 10% to 35% to the Celebrity rates.
  16. I am 100% sure as I suspected it could happen and I picked a random cabin and changed the status and then changed it back.
  17. Which previous to being "Share" had been Sabatini's since when the ship was launched.
  18. If there is a cabin available in the exact category you are waitlisted, then you should be able to get it now at the price you booked it at or, if the current price is lower, at the current price. Your PCC sounds incompetent. By the way, in a perfect world the Princess computers would detect that a waitlisted cabin is available and automatically put it in the name of the next person on a waitlist. Reality is that, at least on Princess, this does not happen automatically. One theory is that this is done manually and thus a cabin can become available and actually get booked before the manual look at this occurs. Lesson learned from the past is if you are waitlisted and see a cabin becomes available, contact your TA (or Princess if the booking is with Princess) to get that cabin for you. Looks like you tried to do this, but your PCC did not come through for you. By the way, that dropped reservation also looks like incompetence at Princess because you did have an appropriate deposit in place.
  19. Any device that accesses the Internet is considered a device in this case. So if your watch actually communicates with the Internet, it would be a device. If you have a single device package, you can use one device at a time and the watch could be one that you use.
  20. I am confused. A waitlist is used when a the category you want is 100% sold out. (This is different than a guaranty booking which is when there is or Princess believes there will be cabins available.) So you purposely chose to pick a cruise where the category you want is sold out? Was there another category that was available and would have been acceptable to you instead? Or was the ship 100% sold out? No cabins or GTYs available, a very rare instance?
  21. Call Princess. They can schedule it over the phone.
  22. My point was a person could not walk up to that bar and order a drink because the bartenders were much too busy making drinks for waiters who had been walking around the room getting orders. Rather than waiting for a waiter to come and ask for your order and then wait a long time until the overwhelmed bartenders could prepare it and then for the waiter bring it to you, it was quicker to use the app to have the beverage made elsewhere and then delivered to the Explorers Lounge.
  23. The new system is not that much better considering anyone can go to the display outside any cabin and change the "privacy please" to a "service the cabin" request or vice versa.
