  1. And here I thought the Rowboat still had Midnight buffets.
  2. There have been threads on Cruise Credit about this problem. Due to Covid, crew are not allowed to smoke indoors as they would be too close to one another in their normal indoor smoking area. So the aft of the ship's promenade deck is where they were allowed to smoke. (The crew area at the front of the ship (near the crew pool) is too windy when the ship is at sea for smoking. Management's response has basically been that the aft on the promenade deck is the only suitable area for outside crew smoking.
  3. I disagree. You will most likely be at the airport before 8 AM. I Agree.
  4. Towel animals are not a Princess thing.( Now and then a cabin steward may do them, but it is very rare.) Did you try to just go from your cabin to the middle set of elevators and then just take one all the way down to the level you wanted?
  5. I agree. I forgot about the paid entry option. I wonder if the line to pay $20 to enter the open-the-door contest is as long as the line to purchase Bingo cards.
  6. Yes, it is connected to the casino, but not in an obvious way. Those who booked the Premier Beverage Package (the new one that is higher priced than the Plus Beverage Package (which used to be called Premier)) have the opportunity while the ship is out to sea and the casino is open to participate by unlocking their cabin door with the Medallion. I do not know how many times or how often they can get an entry by doing this. My guess is winners are chosen at the times a participating door has been unlocked. Those who did not buy the Premier Beverage package get (I think) one entry into the contest, also by unlocking their cabin door with the Medallion at some point while the casino is open.
  7. Always travel with at least one of each. Many places outside the USA might only accept Visa or MC, but not both.
  8. Obviously would not apply in this case. I was discussing in general how it can be done without a cell phone being involved.
  9. It lets me respond to say if the charge is legit or not. When the charge is made, it was not rejected, but the CC was frozen. When I indicated it was legit, the charge was fully accepted and the card unfrozen.
  10. Have a fantastic cruise with many good memories made.
  11. That is one function of the Port Agents. They should be able to guide a person through an emergency situation after the passenger has left the ship.
  12. Still, it requires a cell phone and one that has service when you are out of country. I do not have a cell phone, and if I did, it might only have in country service. On credit card I have will send an E-mail message if it suspects a transaction is not valid. That I can see on a cruise ship when I sign in to my E-mail on my laptop.
  13. Then Princess should not have told her a representative would be on shore to help her and when that rep did not show, say another rep would meet her (which also did not happen).
  14. They are Princess contractors. Princess is responsible to the passenger. Princess can try to get their expenses back from the contractor.
  15. The stern is the blunt end. The bow is the pointy end.
  16. o One feature of the tracking is (with the person's permission) you can locate someone who is traveling with you. For example, if your spouse is out and about on the ship and you need to meet him/her, the technology allows you to find the person. o One Princess use is to locate people on disembarkation day who have not yet left the ship even though they should have.
  17. But the payment should be to the patient's account, not the OP's. Just because they are related to one another does not mean each is responsible for the other one's expenses.
  18. To me, the Diamond is the better choice. o It has significantly less passengers than Discovery. o The itinerary, to me, is better. Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta are much more "touristy" than La Paz and Loreto. There will also be less ships in port at La Paz and Loreto which means less crowded on shore. o As others mentioned, if you have a balcony, the balcony is larger on the Diamond. Also the promenade deck is a traditional one. o Unless someone in your group has a physical limitation that would affect using a tender, there is nothing wrong with tendering. (Even Cabo (on both itineraries) requires a tender.) o Although I also like having an IC, there will still be plenty of eating opportunities on the Diamond. You will not go hungry on the Diamond. Also, Princess staff will be very attentive on both ships. Both ships do have "Medallion class" technology (all Princess ships do). The quarter-sized Medallion functions as a cruise card which is used to unlock your cabin door, allow you to make charges to your on board account, identify you when getting on or off the ship, etc. The other promises of Medallion technology (ordering food/drink from your cell phone or cabin TV and having it delivered to you wherever you are on the ship, for example) may or may not work well and that can happen on either ship.
  19. No book or map in the gift shopcould have what the end of cruise "Log" had. It was a day by day summary of how far the ship went, what times it arrived and departed ports and other information about what actually happened on that cruise.
  20. Princess should not "punish" the passengers if their staff cannot follow the Princess rules.
  21. An Air Canada passenger who deliberately took only a carry-on to avoid luggage chaos says she was made to check the bag anyway, only for it to go missing. https://news.yahoo.com/air-canada-passenger-deliberately-took-111900057.html
  22. Right. And that is why Princess added the voyage number to the card. It stopped that abuse. The main reason that the unused punches no longer can be used on a subsequent voyage is that there is no longer a physical card and the computer system on a voyage keeps track of how many "punches" remain. It would be a big programming change to keep track of unused "punches" for every passenger to keep in a database for use on future voyages.
  23. To quote the Princess web site where your OBC is listed: "At the end of your cruise, these credits are applied to your final balance due." Do the question is, when is the end of your cruise? If you booked the two segments as a single booking, it is obviously at the end of the second segment. And that is the way Princess has traditionally treated B2Bs if booked as individual segments. By the way, not all cruise lines will carry over the account from one segment to the next. RCI, for one, closes out the account each segment and bills your credit card. So depending on your billing cycle and the length of your next segment(s), your credit card statement could reach your home before you have completed the cruise.
