  1. Enjoy --- incredible that it has been 30 years..... Sure it's changed a wee bit. Has your wife back in the interim?
  2. Actually I use to hang out in BBS - Bulletin Board Systems..... Actually that is where I met Iain 36 years ago. We chatted for over 6 months before we ever met for a coffee.... The rest is history. I was never into Unix until many years later. I basically used command prompts in DOS 1.0 I think DOS was a single Floppy.
  3. We went up there last time in Kona. We have rented a car in both Kona and Hilo and will try to find some hidden spots we've never been to before. As you said it is an incredible day trip. I've heard that sunrise is incredible but....not way I would get Iain out of bed to make the trek.
  4. I have to say she had a very colorful mouth with every other work the F Bomb..... It was a wonderful Carriage House overlooking Clyde Park. With our 9 foot stone walls I felt like we were in the country looking over at the park from our upstairs sitting room. My financial controller recommended Ballsbridge - "No one cars what you do in Ballsbridge unless you scare the horses" Love Irish humor.
  5. This has to be my favorite Food Decoration.... Incredible artistic Chef
  6. I have to agree. Iain turned me into a Lamb fan. He also shifted me from eating well done cremated meat to Medium Rare. When we lived in Ireland. Lamb was our least expensive protein and Turkey was the most expensive. We usually had lamb burgers rather than Beef Burgers. I sure miss that Luminae use to have a Lamb Burger but they canned it.
  7. From a quick google. Female donors who have been pregnant are more likely than others to have these HLA antibodies in their plasma. The antibodies could be harmful if transfused into certain patients.
  8. The other urgent thing I need to do is replace the bios battery on my LapTop. The main battery died last week and now the bios battery just went out. These new laptops have to be dismantled to get into them
  9. Tick Tock Tick Tock Time to get serious about last minute chores to do before our cruise. Iain ran down to Kaiser yesterday to get his prescriptions filled. He is such a rule follower.... I on the other hand stopped by 2 weeks ago (across the street from my Starbucks) told them I was going away on vacation needed an early refill.... No Problem. We both also got another Covid Shot - as recommended for those over 65 by the CDC. The housekeeper came yesterday so now we can get our packing finished. My major task for today is to get my Hair Cut. Senior Day at my Hair Salon. Who am I to turn away a discount.
  10. Really fun seeing everyone joining the tread. I finally go caught up to page 5. I really enjoy hearing from each of you and try to acknowledge each post either by a like or writing back.
  11. The date line can really mess with your head. When we flew home from Sydney in December we arrived before we left. The first TP I did, I found I had to go back and study Geography. In my mind I always thought Tahiti was far west of Hawaii, only to learn it was actually Due South and a little to the east and was on the same timezone.... so no time zone changes.
  12. Thanks Mary Beth.. It will be wonderful seeing you again in November.
  13. Only warning about Transatlantic ----- They are addictive.
  14. Just checked the weather today hoping the storm would fall apart but looks like it's getting stronger. Now up another 1 inch of rain.
  15. Believe me I get as much joy out of hearing from my friends I've met on Cruise Critics through my postings. While I have never met many of them face to face I really feel like they are family.
  16. Ahh... brain dead. Of course you are right. He was Captain on Edge in December.
  17. Thanks... I'm on 10 in 1116 RS out of Sydney - so guessing Dominic. Have you heard any comments about him? I don't recall ever meeting either. Mar had messaged me that she was leaving in Sydney. She said she was considering extending but her replacement had already been assigned and was coming on with her Partner/Husband. I really enjoy sailing with her. Who's the Captain? Have you met Erin - part of the Activities staff. I've known her mother's for years and she asked me to pick up a surprise for her. Looking forward to meeting her for the first time. Her Twin brother is in the Services..
  18. Is Walter handling all of the Royal Suites? Curious how many Butlers they have for CS and above.
  19. Will be interesting... We've sailed with Captain Matt and really like him.
  20. It's going to be a busy travel year. I'll have to look but I think up next will be our first trip on Oceania. Should be a fun comparison. It will be combination Alaska, California Coastal, Panama Canal, Caribbean and ending in NYC.
  21. Fantastic Kim. I will try to post enough to allow you to survive a WHOLE year --- I'm sure your dreams will come through and it will be the adventure of a life time.
  22. That is really great to hear. I guess they aren't on CC if there are no complaints....LOL. Maybe we should talk about Dress Code.... OH NO!!!
  23. I really think that Celebrity should put more cruises with 3+ unique destinations as oppose to doing B2B to the same locations. Especially for those with vacation time you can really create partial "World Cruises"
  24. Just go to FB and search for @travel with Jim_Iain Just click join. It is totally a private page and I'm not selling or advertising anything..... Just a repository of my YouTube posts.
  25. The only thing I have heard so far from @abbydancer2003 is they have upgraded the slots and you now can use your SeaPass to put money on the slot. Last year when we were on her you had to get Cash Slips from the Cashier. She is suggesting that after a $ limit you are locked out until you play 50%.
