If another voyager class came to the pacific it would probably be one that hasn’t been before. To my knowledge,the only one that hasn’t been is Adventure ?? It’s pretty old .

No evidence Geoff ,just a hunch. There must be another ship for Australia in 24-25 and Sydney is chock a block .

Melbourne has a narrow channel but the problem is the cross winds. Quantum class has to much side wind shear to have Melbourne as a reliable port. Voyager and Explorer have been into Melbourne many times .

Brilliance has be pulled out of Sydney and it looks like it’s going to Tampa. A ship split between Singapore and say Melbourne?

There’s a ship missing from Australia and I’m thinking a voyager or freedom class.

It looks like Indie is at loose ends but I am thinking Melbourne ?

I have done 6 cruises on Quantum class this season and I need something different.

Cheryl, I only shoot one blogger down on this site - and - he -loves - it , LOL But I think Royal has shot it’s self in the foot with Quantum in Brisbane,they can’t fill it. Lower population, ugly port ,bad transport,pore accommodation and I was talking to a agent the other day and apparently there is healh concerns with the new terminal. She said there’s been a lot of complaints about flies and smells from the sewage plant. How good is that for a sail away. Melbourne has a bigger population to draw from and has a lot going for it than Brisbane More direct international flights,a cosmopolitan city and is good to cruise NZ . Those last 3 things Americans love , easy transport,cultural and a NZ cruise.

Another ship that seems to be unaccounted for after August 24 is Indie . I’m pretty sure it could operate out of Melbourne.

It is unusually late and you could probably expect a few more weeks on top of that. They might be trying to organise port bookings for a third ship ,also. Brilliance is definitely not coming back , I believe it’s going through the Panama and to Tampa.

Quantum should be deployed in Brisbane but then again it has been a bit of a flop this season. Brisbane will be the main home port for servicing the private island of Lelepa so I doubt a Radiance class would have the capacity.

The Sydney port bookings for Brilliance from November to march has been canceled and disappeared. Sydney is very congested and it would be hard to replace those bookings . I think we can be pretty confident Brilliance won’t be coming to Sydney.

There’s a couple of good US agency that specialise in cruise and quote in $AU. They usually give a OBC and can discount it because they buy groups or blocks. To bad we can’t name them.

I think you will find that your booking will be rejected. You are correct that we are charged more than a U.S. resident . That’s why I like to use a cruise agent , I find they are cheaper than dealing direct with Royal or Celebrity Australia. The only thing I can put it down to is ,they discount it to a agent so they don’t have the labour costs ???

I don’t think they would hold the ship up . It used to be a regular trick for getting double points in a balcony and was wide spread,especially in the U.S. But Royal has stopped it as of the new year, you only get a single point per night now.

I did a no show a couple of weeks ago on Ovation. My agent said don’t bother to say anything. I turned up solo, no one asked anything at any time. There wasn’t any extra to pay. Technically they are supposed to refund a few taxes and fees but I didn’t get anything.
