I think club starts at 3yo, being potty trained is a must for pools (no swim diapers allowed) I think holland is great with kids as you do not have many on board and things are nice and quiet for the most part. For older kids you have to consider that HAL does not have many things for kids (slides, playgrounds and other junk)

yes, no clue here. But in reality I do not see how amount of OBC should correlate with the fare you pay. Even for regular priced 7 days cruise some sailings are $250 a person and some $900 a person for the same inside cabin. That OBC should be based on your stock only. I also do not know how they see what was paid on a given booking. Even comped cruises billed at full price with casino department then paying the difference. So theoretically it is full paid booking. I had the same inconsistency with kids sail free promos. Some were applied to casino fares and some were not. Why? Who knows why...

Just got stock OBC for casino comped cruise (well, third paying passenger plus taxes of course). FYI.

you dress for other people? I have been on 10-15 HAL cruises spanning 10 years now and NEVER seen any elegance in people dressing. I am sorry, but a dress shirt with folding creases across chest and abdomen area or a cheap suit jacket that is 20 years old and 2 sizes too big or too small looks like a Halloween costume. You can slap additional cultural situation like men wearing baseball hats while sitting and eating etc etc. I really do not know why even bother if not for yourself. This "dressing up" especially on carib cruises should be thing of the past (it is actually) and as long as you do not show up in a bathrobe and fuzzy slippers you should be good

Bring coral shoes to their private island, lots of small rocks at the entrance of the beach. The rest is the same, if you sail in US most likely announcements will be in english and spanish. I do not remember more than 1-2 day, so I do not know what people are complaining about. If you book your bella or fantastica rates like majority of people you can disregard the multiple comments on these boards from the yacht club megasuite guys who had ruined cruises because captain did not visit their suite on day 2 at 10am and their butler ran out of tissue to wipe the tears while they were on the VIP line calling their personal TA. Sorry for the sarcasm... and yes, do not forget the shoes

Just wanted to share some info on MSC casino offers. Just finished our first sailing on Divina and got a 30% off casino offer (you need 900 points to get it on board). Trying to apply this voucher for another sailing booking you are getting WAY less than 30% off. While it was clear to me that they would never discount port fees and taxes, the actual base rate has a portion that would not be part of the discount. We were planning a rather cheap sailing ($249pp) and $129 of this sum is out of discount. if you look at total price per cabin you overall discount is about 6%. Rep told me that the excluded part of base fare is different for all sailings and she could not disclose the percentage. It has to do with TA commission part of the price

We booked with TAP out of MIA via Lisabon to Italy for $400 a person. They even allow free layover in Lisbon to enjoy for couple of days and have flights to both Rome and Venice
