  1. Thanks to everyone who is posting pictures! The ship looks amazing! Enjoy!!
  2. if you’re talking about Mike the CD, I agree! Yes, on both floors of Two70
  3. We always ate in the MDR since we started cruising many years ago, but lately we’ve been eating dinner in the WJ and liking it more and more. They will have the same themed menu as MDR, but with other options too. I like having the option of going to a sit down dinner and also having he flexibility of eating what we want, when we want in WJ
  4. I’m actually getting a quote for the 14 night Vancouver to Vancouver itinerary. May 22 - June 5.
  5. Which Silver Sea were you looking at? I’m thinking of doing a shorter cruise for the first time and I found a nice one to Alaska which is on our bucket list but we’ve never don’t yet.
  6. thanks! That’s why we book it on Wonder! It’s all about location, location, location 😁
  7. Ear plugs and white noise block everything, even the kids running up and down the halls. On the smaller ships like Radiance class, I baffle the bathroom and closet doors so I don’t hear anything from the hall.
  8. we just started to look at that brand too and feel the same, we have no issue paying luxury prices, but want a luxury product. Our daily price on Wonder GS that we’re boarding Sunday is just about the same as the daily price we were looking at on SS, and SS offers way more. Im going to read your review now. Thanks!
  9. We’re boarding Wonder this Sunday in a GS and what we’re paying for this cruise per day is equivalent to the price we looked at on Silver Sea per day, and there’s no UBER pickup, no pre cruise hotel, no airfare, no excursions, no GRATUITY, etc….
  10. As @toxicfairy said, the drink package is best to buy before the cruise, buy anytime and keep checking for price drops, especially around Black Friday deals in November. prices of excursions have gotten more expensive this year, and depending on where you’re going, the prices could be high. Again, you can purchase now and keep checking for drops in price in November and cancel and rebook. Same for WiFi. Some people book private tours, and I suggest you look for this cruises “Roll Call” on this site and you’ll get lots of information, or you can do the same on FB
  11. I was looking at that one, but it would be a hard sell for him to agree to that length. I need to research the ship to see what would keep him occupied….hope they have a gym for him. do you know if Gratuties are included in the fare? It looks like everything including excursions are and when I told him that, it looked sweeter to him…. But not sure he would/could do that long
  12. Ok…..so after I told him how much we’re 💰 no for a GS on Wonder next week, and broke it out per day, and did the same with Silverseas…..he said he would like to try that line. so can you give me dates and which ship you were looking at? I can’t believe he agreed 😳😁
  13. wish I could get Bob to go for it…..it’s like pulling teeth to get him to agree on a long cruise. I’m going to go look at this now though 😉 maybe if I coax him with we can see the kids before AND after the cruise. We have 2 that are still there….
  14. We were on for NYE so it was a lot more expensive than usual. The MDR food and service were good, but the WJ which is where we had breakfast and lunch and a couple of dinners was not good at all. I even noticed the staff walking around with empty plates looking for decent food there, especially lunch. We were on Odyssey for 27 days in October and the food there was great! The WJ was really good and not just brown or red sauce with floating mystery meat. We love Radiance class and cruise a lot on all the ships in that class, but we’re noticing both the quality and choices of the food isn’t nearly as good as on the large newer ships, and that’s a shame.
  15. When we lived on Long Island, I used to run every day (before the knees became bone on bone) and I ran in shorts until the temperature was under 30°. As long as my core middle and hands were warm, I never wore long pants. Now that we live in Florida, I’ve become a bit more of a wimp with temps, but still walk in shorts as I did the past few days of temps in the 30s 😳
  16. Heck yea! I really miss the chilled soups. Wish they would bring them back on all ships.
  17. We did 9 nights on Radiance during NYE and while I think the ship was in very good shape - actually better than our cruise last February on Serenade, we’re finding the food is getting worse and worse, and that cruise was way more than I usually would spend (I guess because of the holiday) so I was very disappointed. We did 27 nIghts on Odyssey in October-November and even the WJ food was very good! Lots of choices, no red or brown gravy with mystery meat…real meat! I just saw a post in FB posted today showing the spread in WJ on Icon. It’s disgraceful that Royal has gone so much downhill with their food on older smaller ships, and then has an elaborate, enormous display of foods including mounds of king crab legs that we’ve never seen on any a Royal ship, ever! So what’s the message Royal? I guess out with the old, and in with the new….and that goes for food and loyal customers.
  18. We can also enjoy ourselves at any price point BUT I don’t expect to pay the same price for McDs as I would for a fancy restaurant. And that’s what I’m seeing. For our last cruise on Radiance, the WJ food was not even as good as McDs and we paid a lot for that cruise, don’t ask me how much, because it was way too much. The MDR was good….the WJ was terrible, But the soft serve chocolate ice cream was delicious. 🤤
  19. We have cruises booked on Royal for this year and next year, and finally we booked a Celebrity….and have hesitated to jump ship but each time we get on the older ships it just chips away from our loyalty and I find I’m looking around at other upscale cruise lines more and more. Will you share which lines you’ve moved on to other than Celebrity?
  20. I’m sorry to say I sadly agree on the condition of their older smaller ships, because we love them. Royal is showing us that their focus is huge amusement park ships and they won’t be spending much money or effort on smaller ships that go to other locations other than the Caribbean. We’ve been cruising Royal for many years, but our satisfaction has been slowly lessening and we’re looking at other lines that give better quality and food for the prices they charge.
  21. I understood how you feel because for part of my career I worked with brilliant scientists at one of the US National Laboratories, where they did all types of scientific research in areas such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc. I watched them absolutely love what they did with such a passion that I wished I had. In fact at one point I had to force one to use his vacation days (it’s a budgeting thing) and he came to work in blue jeans instead of his suit and said he was “on vacation”. Most had such passion for their research, they worked until they couldn’t. I had a very demanding job and because of that I used to say “I work to live, not live to work”. My job stress was killing me slowly. So when government funding was reduced one year, and they asked for volunteers to retire , I raised my hand and never turned back. You’ll know when you’re ready to make a change…..retirement has given me many opportunities that I had no time for when I worked….one of which is cruising more 😁
